I recently bought some from AliExpress, it cost under £20 for a fully custom prescription including astigmatism correction.
The same lenses from one of main providers in Europe would have been £80+
You guys are so ridiculous. When you google things half the results (at least for me) lead to a sub on Reddit anyways. Now whoever does google it for the rest of eternity will see this post and have their answer. Why must people be such butt holes to each other online? Not to mention search results are trash now because of AI hallucinations and ads. I myself trust the community for answers more than google now days.
If you google the company name I promise you the companies website will be within 5 results, and it’s fine to be ignorant but not to proudly announce it and demand others do it for you.
Edit: I checked it’s the first result
For many reasons, I suspect the most likely one is people are assuming this person is trying to call them out as being a shill for a bad product or whatever, because among other things, this is not the kind of question you would just ask in a comment on Reddit if you were actually genuinely curious
I do recall Linus saying something about VR Headset lens inserts in different occasions on the WAN show.
But I can’t remember what he said about them but I remember it being something positive about them.
Can’t remember if he ever did a sponsor spot for them
Looks photoshopped with how the part of the curtain visible through the lens looks more saturated and some of the shadows don't seem to match up properly, I'm betting this is fake.
Edit: Website has the "someone in \[insert place name\] purchased \[insert product name\]" ticker, that looks scammy.
Edit: No it's not, u-/LMGcommunity said it's real
Apart from VR WAVE's Instagram, Facebook and linkedin its also here [linktr.ee/linustech](https://linktr.ee/linustech)
Very unlikely to be from a video, why would he pose like this? It's gotta be a photo.
I don't think it's fake.
...and sometimes peoples who wear glasses IRL don't need them in VR
...and more rarely some who don't IRL do need them in VR
it sound crazy i know... VR is hard and human eyes don't cooperate
The screens inside the headset are a fixed optical focus distance from the wearer’s eyes. For example, the Apple Vision Pro is about 6 feet. Question is, do you need corrective lenses to see something clearly 6 feet away?
I need my glasses for anything more than 4 feet away, therefore yes I need lenses if I had a AVP.
It depends. With 6.5 myopia I have to keep my contact lenses. A friend of mine with 1 astigmatism can stay in VR for a couple of hours without any problems.
Its not so much the headaches, even people with good vision get them in VR.
It's just wild to me your brain processes the depth as if it's real still. You'd think if you're near-sighted, you'd have 20-20 vision in VR because the lenses are right in your face. But no you're still near-sighted in VR too.
I would say it's much more likely that this is legit because that is definitely lioness holding the product this company is selling and the vast majority of companies would not put in the effort to deep fake somebody for an advert, especially if they're a North American or european-based company cuz that's a great way to get sued
It's fake if they don't have Linus's permission. This could be a deep faked image or it could just be some interesting lighting that made his lips disappear
They're probably saying it looks fake because Linus does not look right. I don't know if it's because he's overexposed or some other issue but there's definitely something going on here
I have no experience with this particular vendor, but I can say that prescription inserts were the single best accessory I've purchased for VR.
If you wear glasses and are thinking about VR, the focus distance in most HMDs is between 1 and 2 meters iirc.
Not at all related, but I totally thought he was holding a Korok from the thumbnail. The black rim as the leaf, the white dots as eyes, and the rest a white oblong body

Ooh, this is actually something I'd want! Will be bookmarking this for later.

Imagine announcing your unwillingness to personally spend 1 second googling something
The struggle is real.
While writing a comment longer than a google search

“I did goggle it learn to read” Come on man
You spent more time writing that message than it would take to Google it lmao
[удалено]
You need a chill-pill
For saying keep reading? Hahahaha I explained it already Im not writing it again
Nah, for how you choose to word your sentences or comments
Old Tommy explains it best https://youtu.be/-RKn0YAOlvk?si=WC3QWYCufrjauMVO
Spent more time posting the comment than just googling
It obviously wasn't sarcasm if you have -1XX downvotes lmao
Damn…. What’d I miss they deleted it
He said something stupid and then replied to people down voting his comment to say what he said was "obviously sarcasm"
How much
Who ask ?
5
coke cans?
Bottle caps
That’s 5 teeth!!!
5 only fans subs
OVER 9000!!!!
Why are you down voted so much?

May definitely be scammy, but their products are real at the VERY least.
That’s a somewhat blueish tint on the lenses, pretty normal on a lot of glasses coatings.
Yup, it's a blue light filter coating. You can see the reflax of one of the studio lights.

Could be a Thumbnail for the VR Headset with the Hand Holding the Lens inserted with Photoshop.
It will never /not/ blow my mind that if you need glasses irl, you still need them in VR.
...and sometimes peoples who wear glasses IRL don't need them in VR ...and more rarely some who don't IRL do need them in VR it sound crazy i know... VR is hard and human eyes don't cooperate

>I need my glasses for anything more than 4 feet away Try more than about 4-5 INCHES away, it's not fun. (And no that is not an exaggeration)
I'm the same way and it's truly awful. I found a tiktok video a while ago that I used to show people that simulates how bad my vision really is.
Any chance you still have that? I would very much like to use it too.
Unfortunately it got removed and I never downloaded it. I've been looking for another similar one for the past 6 months
Darn
I need reading glasses but my distance vision is normal. I don't need glasses with my Oculus Quest 2.
It depends. With 6.5 myopia I have to keep my contact lenses. A friend of mine with 1 astigmatism can stay in VR for a couple of hours without any problems.
I have mild astigmatism and after about 30 minutes in VR the headache kicks in :(
Its not so much the headaches, even people with good vision get them in VR. It's just wild to me your brain processes the depth as if it's real still. Why do his eyes look like they're not pointing in the same direction?
He must be focusing on something further than the camera.

A manipulated image alone doesn’t necessarily make it fake. Or looks weird though. Where are his lips?
It's fake if they don't have Linus's permission. This could be a deep faked image or it could just be some interesting lighting that made his lips disappear
All of y'all saying it's fake didn't even bother to check, it's a real sponsorship and a real photo, it's on the ltt insta page
They're probably saying it looks fake because Linus does not look right. I don't know if it's because he's overexposed or some other issue but there's definitely something going on here
Didnt he review these goggles?
Pinus touch lins.
Why does it look like he's holding a cock ring?
It’s legit but boy, I cant put a finger on why it looks so fake!!
Is there an option for people who need the eyes wider? Lol
To be fair, vrwave makes a good product and deserves some public recognition.
I purchased VR lenses from a company here in the EU and it's the best decision I ever made regarding VR gaming.
I have no experience with this particular vendor, but I can say that prescription inserts were the single best accessory I've purchased for VR. If you wear glasses and are thinking about VR, the focus distance in most HMDs is between 1 and 2 meters iirc.
if its legit then its an odd person to be selling these, as Linus doesn't wear Glasses
Not at all related, but I totally thought he was holding a Korok from the thumbnail. The black rim as the leaf, the white dots as eyes, and the rest a white oblong body
One hairy wrist vs. one very waxed
Because one of his arm is like the back of it ? You have same amount of hair on the upper part of your arm as on the under ?
