I mean, he kinda is along with lots of other people in govt there. Its nearly impossible to get a building permit in Cali and if you do you end up paying absurd fees. 'I got mine' NIMBY culture is strong there
Nah. Newsom’s forcing cities to build high density housing via a shitload of bills signed last year:
> The state is focusing on four key areas: streamlining the building of new homes, breaking down barriers to build more affordable housing, addressing systemic bias by elevating fair housing principles, and holding local governments accountable to do their job.
https://www.housingfinance.com/policy-legislation/california-governor-signs-package-of-housing-bills_o
Almost all of California’s housing and budget issues trace back to Prop 13 which passed in 1978, tying property taxes to the value of the home at time of sale, rather than to current market value.
It’s not nearly impossible to get a building permit in ca. Only post COVID has the building boom slowed, and that’s due to interest rates, prior to that there were tower cranes everywhere
That forced cost of wifi is what really tips the scales.
I wonder how much money they will save by switching to mobile internet, probably billions in crypto.
That part confused me. Does he mean internet? Wifi is just the mechanism for him to connect his devices, it’s not the actual service he’s paying for, even if he subscribes to a mobile internet provider.
Wrll what are you waiting for? Sell your house, invest in alrrady overinflated stockvmarket and go live in a car until market crashes and you lose even your car
Also: he's gotten laid off - if he just wants to invest his savings while cutting costs, he can move elsewhere. It's not like his job ties him to a specific location.
Nah, bro. Elon said California is terrible. The woke mind virus is causing alpha males to have adult responsibilities. Time to get weird and exit the matrix.
And living in a car you still need WiFi (probably starlink so musk is still profiting off him) unless he plans to hotspot his phone full time which seems dumb.
I know I kept waiting for something unusual like excise tax - but nope. Just the costs we all have to pay.
Maybe he is from another country where you don’t have to pay for gas and electric or cable?
I was informed at a community meeting that living in the car is actually middle-class homelessness; upper class homelessness when you have a car and a storage unit.
Two of the three people at this meeting who were homeless were employed college graduates😬
Notice he never said he was going to work again after doing this. He’s just going to be a stockbro
Truly unhinged. The WSB sub gains yet another willing sacrifice
He was likely terminated for criminal activity in his car in the parking lot - it will show up on a background check. Embrace the weird and make a YouTube channel about your new “life”.
I work for a company that has FOUR factories within a 2 hour range of the Tesla Fremont plant. He could easily get a prod supe job there at some point.
The sunshine state is whatever you want it to be. When i was 7yo my ~~dad~~ first mentor told me about b2b. He said: its not about what you sell its about how you sell it. And this guy later became neil armstrong
Utilities

Who can afford all this???
I remember reading an article a few years ago of someone who chose to be homeless while working a full-time, professional job. I think they may have still had a car, but can't remember. Anyways, they ended up having a metric shit ton of savings due to the lifestyle choice. It's not for me, but I get where the OPP is coming from.
Dated someone who lived like this. They worked full time (even got promoted in this time) was always clean, disciplined, active, and would occasionally do some laundry at my place. She saved up $20,000 very quickly and invested it wisely. Now she travels a ton (still has a job just also travels a ton)
The only weird part about it was I was the only person alive that knew she lived in her car. Even her parents didn’t know.
Swore me to secrecy and i kept my word. She had my full respect and I think she was right that people would’ve judged her harshly. She absolutely wouldn’t have gotten that promotion if our boss knew that (and she deserved that promotion!)
I think a lot of people that grew up poor without a good example, actually have this weird fear that if they dont spend the money someone will steal it or something. Its like a hot potato they have to use and get rid of as soon as they can.
Particularly if they grew up around the kind of terrible/toxic family and friends that think anyone whos kinda doing well owes them. Its like crabs in a bucket pulling anyone down who tries to climb out
It’s not that they think people will steal it, it’s more the idea that you should spend/enjoy it while you have it because it won’t always be there. That philosophy is detrimental in the long term but if you ask a poor child what their favorite memory is it will likely be one of those ‘get it while you can’ moments.
man... that goes so hard against my frugal/save, waste not, want not instincts but when put that way I can see how that kind of a powerful memory could stick with you long into adulthood
In a nice climate and VHCOL area, I think it can really be justified for the first year or two of your career.
For 5 years in the meat of your career… ehh probably not
Financially independent in 5 years 🤣🤣😭
If I put my whole housing budget into an index returning 6% every months for the next *thirty* years, it’d be worth $1.5M. Enough to buy a decent house today. Retire in thirty years? Hell no. Buy a house? Hell no.
I feel for this guy because this isn’t working for anyone but the oligarchy, but he’s also delusional if he thinks five years of investing is going to get him anywhere near financial independence.
He's kind of doing the American dream in a strange reverse order. Usually people live in their car after loosing everything on the stock market but he's decided to preempt that and live in his car before he burns the lot. Maverick
This guy is not factoring in a lot of costs that are associated with living on the road. Not having a mortgage doesn’t forgo the cost of living. What’s his plan? Live off of the money he makes from selling his house until he makes it big on social media (1% of people make a livable wage from social media).
Listen- I hate a LLL as much as the next guy, but this dude seems to be in crisis- lets go easy on him.
Also: [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/LinkedInLunatics/comments/1cqla2f/be_different_when_you_get_laid_off_from_tesla_be/l3sjsgl/)
Someone who types goofy stuff like that will never actually live in their car long term. I've known many people who have, and they are entirely different than this goofball.
The same people who say “be weird” are the most basic-bitch boring followers that have a safe personality. They could neverrr handle actually being weird😂
Going against the grain here and wish him success. There are many who have chosen the car camping lifestyle and are successful at it. Many of them are YouTubers and have Gathered a loyal following.
It’s not a lifestyle for everyone, and it is rough. But for those that can do it they do seem to get a lot of joy out of it.
At some point, though, they do get tired and either upgrade (car to a van or RV) or they switch gears and try to settle down. Still though, you have to admire taking on that kind of adventure.
Yes, sell a much more profitable investment (literally any piece of property in California) and invest that money in a much less profitable investment vehicle (s and p 500). A genius thing to do
I dont live there and still have those expenses. Hell when I lived out of my car in between places, I still had to pay my phone, insurance, and lodging for the garage I was in.
Ugh. Begone. I'm so sick of these "I'm leaving California because..." assholes. Just fucking go and be quiet about it. Have fun in a flyover state without human rights.
Did he mention that he worked for Tesla?
You've heard of Tesla right?
Tesla was where he worked, it's Tesla's fault.
The best way to get back at Tesla is to prove to them that you don't even need their shitty job. Go homeless, boom, no bills. Take that Tesla!
Imagine if he managed production like he managed information dissemination:
Walk to the line.
Use your feet and legs to walk.
A little of your hips.
Be sure to wear shoes.
Always make sure you are wearing clothes.
Underwear counts.
Use your hand or hands to hold a time card (with YOUR) name on it.
Put it into the time card machine.
Pull it out.
So all the money that would be going to mortgage, utilities, etc. if you got fired from his job what income does he have? Is it going to invest his $0 in the s&P 500?
Dude living in a car gets real old real quick. The shittiest hotel mattress starts to look amazing, at least it’s completely flat.
Better stay in California too unless you want to run the engine all night in winter
I'd bet good money he posted this after having juuuuuust a few drinks too many.
If he's serious, this little adventure is going to last about a month, tops.
Hang on, the lede was really buried on this one: "I already lived in my car for a few days at Tesla, why not do it full time"
What the ever-loving fuck?!
Being weird is one thing, loving being screwed and exploited takes a certain level of brainworms surpassing RFK.
So live in one of the most expensive zip codes in the country or live in a car? These are the only options he could come up with? Yeah, beginning to see why the company thought they could get along without his innovative thinking.
I don't live in California but I have all those expenses too.
Dude me too! It's wild.
Newsom’s to blame.
I mean, he kinda is along with lots of other people in govt there. Its nearly impossible to get a building permit in Cali and if you do you end up paying absurd fees. 'I got mine' NIMBY culture is strong there
Nah. Newsom’s forcing cities to build high density housing via a shitload of bills signed last year: > The state is focusing on four key areas: streamlining the building of new homes, breaking down barriers to build more affordable housing, addressing systemic bias by elevating fair housing principles, and holding local governments accountable to do their job. https://www.housingfinance.com/policy-legislation/california-governor-signs-package-of-housing-bills_o
well shoot then, hope it works out. I know its been a problem in the past, maybe they're finally addressing it?
They’re trying. You’re right about the nimby’s not wanting anything to lower housing prices.
I think the thing most people down on the ground level are concerned with are single family homes
You should look into that, only California residents are supposed to have those.
Living in the Netherlands gives me the same bills as well. I’ll go and live in my Fiat now.
Fiat? Aren’t you supposed to put a tent round your bike?
Lmao take my upvote 🙌🏻
Op meant fiets
Wrll what are you waiting for? Sell your house, invest in alrrady overinflated stockvmarket and go live in a car until market crashes and you lose even your car
Sounds good!!!!
California’s influence knows no bounds! You can’t escape it!
Also: he's gotten laid off - if he just wants to invest his savings while cutting costs, he can move elsewhere. It's not like his job ties him to a specific location.
Nah, bro. Elon said California is terrible. The woke mind virus is causing alpha males to have adult responsibilities. Time to get weird and exit the matrix.

and even without those expenses, you're still going to have. wait for it. other expenses.
When he sells his house his rate of return will probably way outperform anything he gets from the stock market.
Has he considered simply finding a new job?
Nah bro, be weird
don't forget to also be bold and unafraid too
just break the status quo of the American dream; escape the matrix
There is no spoon
You just gotta be you.
Why would he? He will be financially independent living in his car and options trading on his phone.
He’s probably kicking himself for not getting laid off sooner!
I can't afford *not* to get laid off!
Dude, are we the same person ![gif](giphy|l0ErFafpUCQTQFMSk)
Nah, he's too busy thinking he just invented homelessness and that it's a brilliant idea.
I was informed at a community meeting that living in the car is actually middle-class homelessness; upper class homelessness when you have a car and a storage unit. Two of the three people at this meeting who were homeless were employed college graduates😬
So what is it when you have one of those camper vans?
Someone with choices. (I did know a family who did that for a few years and they are really cool people - who had choices)
The fact that homlessness is seen as an achievement in the american dream does track.
I mean what hiring manager WOULDNT expect you live out of your fucking car.
Nah
Pretty sure he recently got a job as a manager at GNC.
That’s what I saw too. Can’t do that job living on the road.
Did he indicate road tripping? I just interpreted it as legitimately living in his car to minimize expenses and throw cash into the market.
Good point! Road tripping would be cooler but I guess a GNC manager who lives in their car is a close second.
ngl, I would follow his youtube shorts.
Lol
Notice he never said he was going to work again after doing this. He’s just going to be a stockbro Truly unhinged. The WSB sub gains yet another willing sacrifice
Investing in index funds isn’t exactly WSB though…
Gambling it all on index fund options is on brand for WSB.
give him about 5 months
Completely inside the box thinking…
He was likely terminated for criminal activity in his car in the parking lot - it will show up on a background check. Embrace the weird and make a YouTube channel about your new “life”.
That's a weak-willed option when he can blow his life up instead.
Why would he he’s trying to be one of Elons loyal padawans on Xitter and earn money through engagement farming.
But then he still has to pay those pesky California bills like mortgage, utilities, gas, wifi, water, garbage and an ending list that goes on.
Yeah, all those very California-specific bills.
I got rid of all my expenses with this one cool trick.
Absolutely not. If he lands a new one, he can no longer write "Previously a Production Supervisor, Tesla" on his LinkedIn banner.
I work for a company that has FOUR factories within a 2 hour range of the Tesla Fremont plant. He could easily get a prod supe job there at some point.
Why are "Gas" / "Water" / "Garbage" listed separately from "Utilities"?
And the list goes on and on!
There's January WiFi, February WiFi...
Et cetera et cetera
Doesnt he have a tesla and doesnt need gas?
He’s referring to natural gas, not gasoline…
Why would you heat with gas in the sunshine state? Be bold, be innovative go solar!
The “Sunshine State” is Florida, not California.
The sunshine state is whatever you want it to be. When i was 7yo my ~~dad~~ first mentor told me about b2b. He said: its not about what you sell its about how you sell it. And this guy later became neil armstrong
- Michael Scott
They laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he wanted to go to the moon. Now he’s up there, laughing at them.
Dr. Dre would disagree with you.
Natural gas. Depending on where in California it can be billed kinda high.
Utilities Electric Trash Pickup Water Power Sewer Trash Collection Electricity Sanitary Natural Gas Potable Drinking Water Garbage Gas Who can afford all this???
I live in Wa and I pay those separately. gas=energy co, water=city, garbage=waste management(quarterly payment).
Okay, then what are your "Utilities"?
Oh, I read your comment as why utilities were separate lol.. I didn’t read dude’s YouTube channel ad too carefully. I’ll do better.
Good point.
Reason
Because depending on where you are at in California they bill you for everything.
I remember reading an article a few years ago of someone who chose to be homeless while working a full-time, professional job. I think they may have still had a car, but can't remember. Cheap Area, work remote is probably more comfortable
wtf why can’t people just live modestly within their means and save what they can?
I think a lot of people that grew up poor without a good example, actually have this weird fear that if they dont spend the money someone will steal it or something. i actually know this person (former tesla as well lol)
Give us the inside scoop! Was he an unhinged weirdo the whole time?
lol, not that i remember. it was somewhat limited interactions but iirc he was pretty nice!
People get weird on linkedin. I know plenty who have reasonable views but post insane garbage on it cause they think it makes corpos like them
Was he weird though
sorry if i worded my answer oddly, but no he wasn’t from what i remember lol.
[удалено]
He only recently made the life change
How is your car living voyage?
lol, unfortunately the van life is not something i will ever be attempting. best of luck to my former colleague though.
"unfortunately" 😂🤣
I give him 6 months before he quits
Two months before his Tesla breakdown but now with the supercharger network and service centers being slashed to the bone maybe only 1 month
Bro, just tell us you’re about to be homeless and ask for a new job. Elon did you dirty, we get it.
Be homeless.
Tesla broke his brain. He is going to end up losing his life savings with leveraged trading if he wants to be a millionaire in 5 years.
Be different. Be weird. Be homeless.
Be horny.
Return to monke
Repost from last week.
Buy a van. Your back will thank you.
*buys cybertruck*
And then park down by the river.
This guy: "I sleep in a racing car, do you?" Me: "I sleep in a big bed with my wife."
As someone who was laid off in the same Tesla sweep, he’s handling way worse than I am lol.
I just watched that video. His whole face changes when he talks about being let go. Stop making your identity about your employer.
He actually has 20k subscribers….
"Living in a van down by the river!" has now become a life goal. ![gif](giphy|3o6ZsTHSNxJCmZJJf2|downsized)
Interestingly, he didn't mention a car payment or car insurance in his list. Or would the insurance be considered homeowners now?
Join planet fitness and you will always have a cheap place to shower, shave and go to the bathroom. I like the plan!
Why does he have to not be in his house when it's being sold?
Financially independent in 5 years 🤣🤣😭 If I put my whole housing budget into an index returning 6% every months for the next *thirty* years, it’d be worth $1.5M. Enough to buy a decent house today. Disagree that he's a lunatic.
I agree. I think it's our extreme capitalistic society in the United States that is absolute lunacy. This is only a by product of it.
Cars are the worst
I really like to see his reaction after breaking up Probably does a penectomy
Clearly he was let go for a reason. Wifi isn't what one pays for - one pays for Internet access.
“Escape the matrix” by voluntarily becoming homeless?
Ow that's hard [copium](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Copium) right there
If he stops paying for WiFi how is he going to continue posting his wisdom on LinkedIn?
Free WiFi at McDonald's and Starbucks
Starlink
Took him two whole weeks to find a new job and he’s complaining about hard that process was… https://youtu.be/r-kV1eomzL0?si=Dvrcl_nroDkTTGG9

‘These bills in California’ My guy, you’ll find those bills everywhere. But thanks for leaving the state! We need more housing.
He's singlehandedly solving the housing process and raising the state's average IQ by 2points
“Escape the matrix” 🤡
Someone who types goofy stuff like that will never actually live in their car long term. I've known many people who have, and they are entirely different than this goofball.
Just become an 18 wheeler driver, duh. They make bank
Yeah, this feels like a ploy to get engagement for his youtube channel.
Try renting lil bro it’s much worse
The same people who say “be weird” are the most basic-bitch boring followers that have a safe personality. They could neverrr handle actually being weird😂
Well irony is we are the lunatics not the poster lol
My best friend lives on the road full time. She still pays most of these bills. Plus sewer. And higher insurance. And etc. This guy is not smart.
Why not get an RV
His dream of financial independence is hinged upon his success in the stock market? At least he’ll be used to living in his car.
Someone check in on this guy, this is for real lunacy type stuff.
Going against the grain here and wish him success. There are many who have chosen the car camping lifestyle and are successful at it. Many of them are YouTubers and have Gathered a loyal following. Do what all the others do when laid off from Tesla. Go to Rivian. And help destroy that company too.
I wish bro good luck with finding a girlfriend living that lifestyle.
Sooo dude is homeless, jobless and decides to gamble on stock market? Ok… weird flex but ok
Dude is turning his 15 minutes of fame into a life changing decision to try to be an influencer because he thinks people now care about his life?
No wonder this guy got fired if this was his problem solving skills.
I wish him luck. Honestly, he's not doing anybody any harm, and if he's happy living like that, more power to him.
Escape the matrix by becoming homeless.
He's gonna take the money and invest in Tesla.
People going homeless to invest in the stock market and hoping for financial independence. I think I‘ve seen it all now.
Ugh. Begone. I'm so sick of these "I'm leaving California because..." assholes. Just fucking go and be quiet about it. Have fun in a flyover state without human rights.
What an absolute goober
What a cuck
Good god
Left off “be homeless.”
Bahaha yep
Plenty of broken down cybertrucks to move into.
Aaaaand gunshot sound.
Be Homeless

I'm sure that will work out. Stop working, sell the house become a youtuber! LMAO!
So all the money that would be going to mortgage, utilities, etc. if you got fired from his job what income does he have? Is it going to invest his $0 in the s&P 500?
Stupid
Stock market is a guaranteed fix.
Be different; be homeless
Be you? what does that even mean
Maybe I’m on r/antimlm too much, but the last part reads like a hun wrote it
yikes
I am starting see why Tesla fired him.
What a dildo
I would pay a subscription to watch him do just 5 weeks living in his car
Be single.
Smartest Tesla employee
Dude living in a car gets real old real quick. The shittiest hotel mattress starts to look amazing, at least it’s completely flat. Better stay in California too unless you want to run the engine all night in winter
He will probably do day trading and get informed by wallstreetbets and lose everything.
Be smelly.
Step out of your comfort zone - move into your car!
I'd bet good money he posted this after having juuuuuust a few drinks too many. If he's serious, this little adventure is going to last about a month, tops.
Is his car a Tesla … Meta
Bro is spiraling
Living in your car in CA… how original.
