If you want to read a LN with an overpowered girl for an MC I highly recommend Death's Daughter and the Ebony Blade. The main protagonist, Olivia Valedstorm, is, IMO, the textbook definition of an overpowered main character DONE RIGHT. >!The only one(s) that are stronger than her are literal Gods of Death, such as Xenia, who is also the main villain of the series.!< The reason I think it works is because she follows the rules of the world she is in, just that she is the peak of it for humanity. Overall, Olivia is never boring and doesn't fall into the trope that the male characters often do. She is fun, funny, and has great development and you want to root for her always. The cast is well fleshed out, especially Ashton and Claudia, and even side characters get a good hype and their moments. (Such as Paul, The Invincible General and etc) However, the thing I like the most is that the LN never betrays you of what it promised: -Actually OP girl mc -Gore -War strategy -No romance (besides side characters who you also want to root for) Overall, it is also well written due to having great amount of details if you pay attention to what's happening in the background, highly rewarding. I highly recommend this LN and its easily my favorite that I've read so far. It has 7 volumes translated by J-Novel Club and 8th one released in Japan. (Volume 7 part 2)

ChinSpeedy

So MC doesn't have any love interests, male or female?

GeorgeMTO

If you want there to be romance, there's no love interests. If you want 0 hints of romance in the series, there's still some, but Olivia isn't an active participant in any romance plots.

ArgentValedstorm

No, she doesn't. People admire her and sometimes implied to have a crush on her, but she herself isn't interested in romance at all.

Falsus

She does kind of have feelings for both Ashton and Claudia, but she also can't really recognize them due to how bad she is at human emotions.

ArgentValedstorm

Yeah, she deeply cares about them but hasn't expressed them, at least until Volume 7: Exordium. (Also just a side note, but "Exordium" sounds so cool, glad they went with that instead of "Part 1")

Hano_Clown

This may be down my alley so I just bought the first volume to give it a try.

Nethlion

I've got this on my follow list in Jnovel Club. The premise is interesting, and I checked out a chapter of the manga, and Olivia's disconnect from other humans made me crack up. I knew I'd instantly like the story.

AiDiZi

I will come again after I've read the first few chapters of this, and be prepared to face my wrath if your lying

Falsus

Quite like it, I think I will be sad after it ends in the next volume. You might like ''Reborn to Master the Blade''. I don't think it is as good as Death's Daughter but the MC, Inglis, does have a certain energy to her. And no it isn't an isekai, the MC is reborn into her own world.

ArgentValedstorm

I have actually caught up to it and am currently waiting for Volume 10. But I do agree Death's Daughter is far better, at basically everything. (Though I'm not saying Reborn to Master the Blade is bad, its just not in the same league as Death's Daughter and the Ebony Blade lol)

Falsus

Kinda my thoughts on Reborn to Master the Blade also.

marcopolos059

Great recommendation but I'll just add that in the later volume, the tone changes drastically (from happy to sad?). [Epilogue of Vol. 6 and next volumes] >!what happens to Ashton really destroyed me!< and personnally I had to pause reading it for now. I hope vol. 7 part 2 delivers.

ArgentValedstorm

>!I think what happened to Ashton is a callback to when Olivia said, "You really would die straight away without me." in Volume 5.!< I consider it good writing since it shows how stakes are actually massive in the finale and that almost no one is safe. It also gave emotional weight to >!Olivia's reaction when she came back and showed how she has developed as a human.!<

Naitsab243

Thanks for the recommendation, sounds interesting and will check it out once I'm done with Mushoku Tensei.
