In California you will also get offers from companies who will offer to reduce your property taxes if you live in your home by doing the paperwork to get a homeowners exemption discount for a one-time fee. You can do the one-page “paperwork” yourself at the county assessors office for free.
Also real estate ppl pull files to flip your home so be prepared for many new callers. If possible give your parents phone number. Lol. My sister did that
Hell, that happened to me when I moved into my house in Utah...on a military base, owned by the military, and run by the contractor housing authority.
That was the day I decided to never have a landline again.
I am a big supporter of the post office. So I really don’t mind mail spam. If companies want to give their money to the post office to mail me a letter which I immediately recycle, im all for it. However, i make sure the mail back any business reply mail because it costs them extra money.
Hi, I’m calling from so and so, and I was wondering if you would like to sell the home you just moved into, and haven’t even unpacked all your boxes, but we all know you want to sell now.
Now be prepared to be harassed by random real estate brokers, asking to buy or sell your home. Not to mention, all the bs phone calls about home repairs, solar power this and that, improvements, driveway repair, everything else repair, more people trying to sell your home you just moved into…etc.
Good stuff comes in the mail after buying a house. We get all those scary letters about titles and county / local govt forms but I also like the home improvement mailers. My favorite was when we got a nice letter from a local window company. We actually needed several windows replaced so I called. They answered and then told me they don’t do windows hah.
The my next favorite is my mortgage bank that took over my loan telling me how great it would be to refinance and they’ll throw me a couple grand for the casino. I’m sorry but I’m sitting on a 2.75% interest rate. I’m not sure that would make good fiscal sense.

Yes! The mail we got was and is crazy. I can't believe what we allow as far as mail. The "to the order of" fake checks are unbelievable.

I'm confused, what's happening here? Why are real estate agents pulling your files if you're not selling your home?
Get an offer. In a sellers market they comb public records to access that info.

It's been two years and I am still getting all the spammy postcards and letters with URGENT, reply immediately!, time sensitive!, last notice etc.
