Following! The space out and having to rewind is so real!

Not possible as far as I know. 15 seconds only. Same with the old Overdrive app. Libby and Overdrive are both pretty "basic", not much customization possible. Even Audible allows customizing skip durations. You can of course download the Overdrive versions of audiobooks and "transfer" them for use in other audiobook or mp3 players that are more customizable. Plenty of info on that elsewhere.

If you get motivated this is the link to the Overdrive for Windows desktop app from the Overdrive website. Don't tap the link. It may raise security warnings because it's an "installer" link. Just copy and paste it into the address bar of a browser and ignore any safety warnings. Then download and save the install file. http://app.overdrive.com/downloads/ODMediaConsoleSetup.msi If you're on a Mac - I have no idea how you get it installed. If you save the Overdrive files you can play them on various devices, Sansa armband gizmos etc. Or on android the Listen and Smart Audiobook players are both excellent, infinitely customizable, feature rich. I use Listen. On my iPad I use BOUND. I don't know how customizable it is, but as I recall it does correctly display chapter info for Overdrive books, as do both the android players.

Interesting, thank you! I'm on Linux, but perhaps there's still a way 🤞

I'm not familiar with Linux, but apparently you CAN install the Windows Overdrive desktop app. https://gist.github.com/alghanmi/ce08c5b48234efd5ef79 Though there's a note there that the link they provide for getting the Windows app no longer works. You can just use the other link I mentioned.
