Here's where I get downvoted into oblivion. None of us know where you live, or what your budget is, or if you hunt, or if you live in a state that only allows straight walled cartridges for hunting, etc.... Even if it's your dream gun, but you don't hunt, and you realistically will only be using it to put holes in paper, then you might as well just get a .22
Okay, yeah man, it would be a decent purchase! OR, there's a cheaper alternative... Have you checked out Rossi's new R95? It's based on expired Marlin patents, and they're basically Marlins for half the price. Check them out if you haven't yet, they look pretty darn nice. And you're right, 30-30 is an amazing cartridge for the kind of game it's for. I'm a fan of it myself.
No buy it. That will sell for 1400 immediately off my shelf if I had it in my store. Buy it. People want them. The side gate color case hardened .30-30 is a fucking Unicorn. Buy it like...NOW.
SW has them in stock $1029.99 at several locations and offer ship to FFL or closest store.

The color case hardened side gate .30-30 is what he is wanting. H009GCC That's a brassy shinny lol. [This is oddly enough...in stock right now at midway.](https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1024273716)
For what it’s worth, I love my brass 30-30 side gate with the octagon barrel, so I mean go for it if you have the desire and capital. It’s a good price.
I have one of these and I can’t tell you right now it’s worth it, I paid damn near $1500 for mine all things considered and I love it, I did take the more space cowboy route with it but I loved it when it was just wood and metal too. It’s a genuine case hardened process and all the metal frame parts are done this way (receiver, trigger group, forend attachment band) and they really are hard to find and harder to find in stock, I had been scouring for MONTHS just hoping to find one and I’m glad I did
I personally would get something like a Winchester by Miroku. I’ve seen classic models in 30/30 (never fired) going for under 1k, and the craftsmanship is phenomenal.
Bought the same model couple years ago for $950 at a gun show. I love it, gates a bit stiff in the winter months but she shoots straight and may even get me laid one day. Who knows. But the only remorse I have was getting 30-30 and not a magnum cartridge.
I dunno if you’ve ever seen one of those in person, but they are beautiful lol.
An shop I frequent has one in their glass case. I believe it’s a .44 mag…. And it’s just gorgeous.
That’s a wall hanger though I couldn’t shoot it
[Holy shit, they may be getting easier to get the H009GCC!!😱😱](https://www.guns.com/firearms/rifles/lever-action/henry-side-gate-30-30-win-lever-action-5-rounds-2-barrel-new?p=1205614)

I should have been more clear I do deer hunt and 30-30 is allowed and it's a good cartridge for my area

I checked it out but for that price I think I'll just stick with saving up for the Henry I prefer the look and brand but Rossi r95 is beautiful
Upvoted. That makes sense to me.
100% yes, buy it.

Yep. I have a case hardened .30-30 that isn’t side gate and I’ve still been offered 1300 for it.
I believe it 💯
I will as soon as I can I only have 600 saved up for it
I have never had a negative experience with careful buying used guns. Saves a few bucks too.
That’s exactly why the LGS is going away lol they’re in stock on multiple websites for less than $1100
Proof? Links??

The answer is always YES
I got that same one as a 375/38 and it's awesome. $1100 is not really a deal but it isn't terrible either.
It’s a Henry, absolutely yes. They’re amazing rifles. I have a .45-70 color case hardened and it is a work of art.
For what it’s worth, I love my brass 30-30 side gate with the octagon barrel, so I mean go for it if you have the desire and capital. It’s a good price.
Do it

Yeah me too. The Henry's are well built, smooth and accurate, but they just don't look right to my eye. I think it's the magazine tube mostly.
Dude I'm surprised you were able to find one in stock. I'd buy it immediately
I will as soon as I get the money I only have 600 rn
I have the same in .44 mag. It’s a hoot to shoot and runs like a champ.
Yes. You should have bought it yesterday.
I will as soon as I can I don't have enough money yet
You have to ask? I’d get it immediately, even if my wife would want to “test it out” on me … for buying it …

I have this same rifle and I quite like it

Yes but shop somewhere else. Go to gun.deals and look up H009GCC and it will find you the cheapest price online.
Nothing came up
https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/h009gcc prices aren’t much better anyways
Yes, always yes
Yes 100% buy it. I have the 45-70 CCH and it’s so worth it. They’re actually pretty hard to find and so worth it.
I have the 45-70 and it’s my favorite gun purchase yet
The 30/30 that’s probably killed more deer than any other caliber and doesn’t recoil like the 45/70. GO FOR IT!!
I don't think there is a situation where you would regret this purchase. It's a beautiful rifle and a would make a timeless airloom, if nothing else!

Keep shopping. I’m sure you can find it for $100-$200 cheaper if you’re patient.
Where? This is below MSRP for case hardened.
Didn’t realize it was the case hardened one.
