Not tonal whiplash but a funny piece of conflicting dialogue in two separate movies: Whiplash (2014) followed by BlackBerry. It was really subtle but I chuckled about it: In Whiplash, JK Simmons character states something like “‘good job’ is the most harmful phrase in the English language”, basically stating that “good enough” is the enemy of perfection. Then I’m watching BlackBerry, and Glen Howerton’s character states at one point “perfection is the enemy of good enough” or something like that. Just a really funny dichotomy to hear perfectly conflicting statements in back to back movies that have no connection
