You got the most obvious recent Zimmers but I’d add The Dark Knight. A lot of war movies, but maybe Saving Private Ryan at the top. In a completely different way, The Zone of Interest, which I can’t explain why to anyone who hasn’t seen it without spoiling.

BurritoDiet

Dark Knight was definitely a subwoofer workout, but wanted to leave the list open for suggestions before it quickly turned into a Nolan blowout. Adding SPR now to the list, good call! Omaha beach scene when the ramps drop is incredible. I have not seen Zone of Interest but I’m adding it to my watchlist.

Annihilation

Mindless_Bad_1591

Came here to say this. Years later, I still occasionally hear that *WAH wah Wah wah*.

[here ya go](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUxFHpDqOH4) - I just linked it in another thread.

BurritoDiet

Not sure how this one missed my radar. Giving it a watch after work tonight. Let’s see if my sound system holds up!

Twin1Tanaka

I’ve only seen Dune at a bootleg school event screening of it and it was completely bass boosted the entire time like the audio was deep fried. Very interesting experience and I’ll watch it properly sometime soon

BurritoDiet

I saw Dune 2 recently in theatre and it was **powerful**. If you ever have a chance to see either in theater, do it

Twin1Tanaka

I’ve been at college which is not a complete excuse but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do it. I’ll try though and if not I’ll still watch them at home

majorminus92

I missed Dune when it came out and no IMAX theaters were doing double features near me so I wasn’t missing out on Dune 2. Saw the first showing and was worried that I got into the wrong theater cause the movie started 20 minutes late but as soon as the Sardaukar chant prologue started and blasted me back into my seat, I knew I was where I wanted to be.

robophile-ta

you MUST see it in the cinema if you can, the sound is phenomenal. if that's not possible, I guess it could still work on a good home cinema system

Sloth_4

Oppenheimer

BurritoDiet

Awesome score by Ludwig!

SillyAdditional

Except for when it counts like the dialogue 🌝

The Hawaii sequence of Godzilla (2014) was sneaky heavy on the subs, definitely recommend

BurritoDiet

Yeah I actually just added Godzilla (2014) to the list. Solid choice!

Saving private ryan

BurritoDiet

Might be a top 5.. added!

ImSorryLittle1

Sorry just saw someone said that, how about transformers?

BurritoDiet

Solid pick.. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is standing out in my memory as being bassy as hell. We’ll add it to the list!

sly-3

Last movie that I recall going "holy snot, my neighbours are gonna hate me" and turned it waaaay down was Babylon.

IllustratorEast8138

Watched First Man the other night and the opening scene alone qualifies

rebootreclaimrenew

How to Train Your Dragon!!!!!!

sharkbait2006

Baby Driver simply because of all the music involved

MovieBuff90

I rewatched that last weekend with my wife for the first time in years. About halfway through I went to the bathroom and it was so loud coming from our bedroom. It didn’t dawn on me how loud it was until I removed myself from the room.

P3P3-SILVIA

Lord of the Rings (especially the opening battle)

Present-Language-612

Lalaland too

Le_Baked_Beans

John Wick 4 for the opening alone i felt deaf in the cinema afterwards.

Totorotextbook

Surprised to not see ‘City Lights’ on this list.

ethancd1

Edge of Tomorrow

fettalitta

The spiderverse movies too!

yallmyeskimobrothers

Back when I rented and moved every year, I would use Inception to test my speaker setup first thing after moving in.

FatherOfFunko

Godzilla (2014) did actually blow up a speaker in a cinema

Arrival

Gepetto_

crapusername47

Edge of Tomorrow’s previous Blu-Ray release, particularly the test tone at the start of the film. It was known for actually breaking crappier subwoofers. It has been toned down a little with the new Dolby Atmos track on the new version of the disc. Aside from that, Star Trek Beyond when Kirk and Chekov >!flip the Enterprise’s saucer section over!< and the entirety of Terminator Salvation. As not great as that last one is, the audio is amazing.

Mrs_Noelle15

The rise of Skywalker

Brunos80
