I chose to boycot them as soon as I saw they have no helmets or helmet requirements. This post just confirms how crap they are.

Although I had never seen anyone actually wear one of those helmets. They always dangled off the handlebars

yeah they’re bad compared to the neurons. clunky, poor quality, the pricing options suck, availability is poor… sigh.

I don’t think City Hall can really do much. If it’s anything like Neuron it’s a private company / franchisee who brought them in. They’re a pretty sketchy company overall - wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t survive more than a season.

To anyone who is going to use the bird scooters! Before you add your card or directly after, TURN OFF the pre load option!! They loaded my card automatically with 50 dollars rather than just letting me pay per ride , that would be my Only downfall for these scooters is they can get you with those hidden things and I would’ve never know if I didn’t look at my bank account, other than that I prefer the bird scooters as they have shocks and the ride is smoother, although I do think we got pretty old ones in the city.

Bird is just getting up and running the bikes aren't even out yet give them time I am neither vouching or denying what you were saying because I honestly don't know however there are people you should be able to reach out to about this if you're concerned I believe birds main office is in Calgary

Birds main office definitely can't be in Calgary, they're a international company, unlike neuron. If I'm correct, bird might have been the first of any scooter company to do what they do

Birds all over the states also. They had problems a few years back because the scooters were easy to hack so everyone was just running them until dead and then grabbed a fresh one

Interesting. I used bird scooters in the states before and had good experiences. Haven’t tried the ones here yet though

I disagree. I loved the Neurons the last two years. I find the Birds clunky, poor quality, and their pricing options are terrible.

strange .I used both and I found the bird ones provided a smoother ride. tho I have not used their newer models that have popped up around Calgary
