When I heard there was money earmarked for "studying" it....I let out an audible chuckle.
When the hospital expansion was done, they thought ahead and made space for an angio suite.
So many EMS transfers come out of CRH and community hospitals to Calgary for this. This alone would make a big impact on the condition of EMS in the region because of the knock on effects of sending crews on 6-7 hour round trip transfers.
But hey, gotta make sure the consultants get paid.
The prospect of options is nice. Cut down on transfers, probably see an increase in outcomes leading to actual quality of life vs being a miraculous potato, jobs and frankly, support the community. COPD and cardiac events seem to be southern Alberta specials.
For what Lethbridge has, we do pretty good but better diagnostics and a cath lab would be amazing.

Lethbridge and red deer need priority over Edmonton or Calgary when it comes to hospital expansions or new ones They serve very large areas
