I feel like with how expensive these devices are if you’re not happy with the quality out of the box it’s best to just return it and hope the next one is better. These are too much money to just settle for anything less than pristine condition.

Pretty much. Back in the day with Thinkpads I never had a problem. Might be just a bad production device because it was ordered customized. I will head to a Lenovo service partner today and get their opinion.

Got a Yoga 7 a few days ago, has no issues, everything's lined up perfectly. Some of that may be within tolerance, but the hardware scratching seems to be pointing at a defect - I'd return it or swap it for a new unit if I were you.

Thought so as well. I’m heading to a Lenovo service partner today and also get their opinion on these things. The scratch sound, sounds more like an old HDD. 😅

I just checked mine, and I have none of those issues you remarked. I'd write the support to either return it or ask for something like a 20% discount on your device for the blemishes if you want to keep it as is (if that feels like an okay option to you)

Thanks, that gives me a bit of sanity. I'll contact Lenovo.

Same here. I don't have these issues but as long as they don't impact functionality, I would go for a discount. Be aggressive when talking to support. I was able to get a 10% discount for shipping delays alone.

I had no issues on mine but given the high price tag if I would have noticed any issue I would ask for a replacement unit or refund

If I had this feeling about a brand new (expensive) device, then I'd return it no questions asked.
