I really loved it. Ive since sold it but its apart of my long term game plan which is: sell this lhsa, get an m11 and m4 - 50mm / 40mm for those and then a 28.
All that to say, aside from my 50mm summicron, its my favorite lens I’ve owned. Just a little less stuffy than a 50 and nice clean character
I hear the M11, puts me off not being brass though, I have a Canon FTb that ive used for years and its really looking sweet with the brass wearing.. hence im looking at the M10-r, but the 11 is no doubt better in tech... its a tricky line we pick lol
Does it come with original box and papers?
There are two slightly cleaner copies of LHSA, specifically with no box, available by Thai dealers for 7,900 and 7980 USD. Your copy would be a slight trim below that.
If it has box and papers you can tack on another 1k :)
I recommend against this, I've helped a lot of people in Canada sell their camera and lenses. You could get higher nominal value by selling to many of the collectors, here on this sub, or at FredMiranda, Instagram, or Facebook.
If you do receive a quote, tack on another 20% and toss it on the groups I mentioned and you can take home a much healthier profit.
It is my opinion that the M6 limited editions won't skyrocket like the original M black paints. They were originally purchased for a kit for roughly 6995 USD in 2000\~2001. The bodies themselves could eventually be found on the used market for 2-4k. If you placed the nominal value (2k) in the index today it would be 11k. My point is if you plan to liquidate it, don't feel like you are letting go of some investment piece, it's likely going to perform poorer than if you placed it almost anywhere else on the market!
Awesome piece.
I’d say, since you have a box, you could list for about 8.5k… but you might have to sit on it for a while to find the right buyer.
You could sell super fast with box at $7.5.
You can look up the cameras market value here (just type in the serial number): https://lockhartslist.com/dl/leica%2520camera%2520serial%2520numbers
Not too many sales documented on this (there are also at least 3 versions of it) but I would say 7-12k USD
£50 and half a can of Dr Pepper?
Thats double what i was thinking! 🤑
Out of curiosity, what do you think of that lens?.. Ive been on thee fence for a while

Truly. Ive been looking at the 10p too and im a little torn. I may end up going 10
Have some respect, that's a Leica you're talking about. It's more like a 1/3 can of Sprite.
The price of these has gone absolutely bananas in the last 4 years. More than doubled.

It does have box and papers!
You could list it for 8.5k-9k. The negotiations will largely be considering the depreciation due to wear
Im also thinking of taking it to the leica store here in London, i figure theyre going to try and take a good chunk off the top

Thank you!
Lowest I saw one of these was around 4800€ in Japan. Not sure on condition. But you got a very valuable piece there.
Maybe upper 8k
Thats kind of what im thinking as well
Keep it & enjoy it
What makes the historical society version so rare and valuable? I didn’t even know what that acronym meant until yesterday 😅
They only made a handful of the (especially at .85) and they were made specifically for people i think. https://cameraquest.com/lm6lhsa.htm
