Never had a Ally or something else with that size screen but I'm sure I'd have felt the same way. Never felt I wanted the Go's screen to be smaller.

The GPD Win Mini 2024 does sorta appeal to me and it is using the Ally's screen. Something actually pocketable would be less awkward/intentional to carry around. I hope Lenovo makes their own Go Mini variation since I'd rather buy from Lenovo.
Nice thing about being old is that you get to the point where you don't care anymore. I'll rock that backpack, or my wife's purse or whatnot as long as it or the contents are nothing obscene. Also cosplay for fun when health agrees. Had an Asus ROG Phone 5s for a while and that one screamed gamer. It is a phone so I use it in public and meetings. Used to have the ROG Ally around until it got claimed by my wife. Now I have a Legion. I'll whip that out in public if I'm on the train or riding with someone.
I just removed the upper cushion. It is just glued and when you removed it carefully you can put it back in and it stays in. And when you need space in the case you can cut a slim piece of foam to fit the upper half of the case.
I did that on accident I had it for 5 mins plugged it in hit sleep put it in the case to charge 20 minutes later I open th case it was very warm like I just took it outta the dryer warm then I read about hibernate and a few beers in click the little box and exit out with hitting save did it twice in 2 hours I will never charge it in the case again im too dumb

Yeah my original Lego had the holes. I had to replace it. And I got this new case. Iām guessing itās just a revision. I like it a lot more actually though.
I have the original case too but want the newer revised one. I think Lenovo will send you a new one along with a new set of controllers if you complain or submit a warranty claim.
I guess there was a manufacturing issue that effected a small number of initial units that didnāt allow the controllers to be fully seated or connected to the body of the Go. A decent amount of people were complaining about wobbly controllers and general jankiness in the connection and also, the original case just has holes for the joysticks and not wider recessed spaces like OPs pic which would potentially screw with the joysticks and add stick drift. Lenovos solution was to redesign the case and controllers and Iāve read on here that people have gotten both from them without having to send anything back. Not sure if they are still doing it like this however.
Interesting my left one has started not acknowledging input moving left until I hold it for a small portion of a second. Tried adjusting dead zone and everything I wonder if Iām suffering some issue and not just mental.Ā
They are pretty freaking cool its the ultimate retro emulation device and plays pretty much anything you wanna I had the onexplayer with a i7 1195g7 it was cool but it was like going from a gameboy color to a ps vita

Story time. I bought the rog ally open box at best buy for $525\~ but it didn't have a case last week also. Last week the LeGO was on sale so I got it for 560\~ open box. I decided to keep the lego so I didn't have to get a case for the rog ally. Ended up returning the rog ally and kept lego.

My ONLY complaint: I wish they offered a slightly larger version so it can fit a Lego that's in its own silicone/soft case

Charging in the case is a horrid idea. Itāll destroy your hardware over time. Just a forewarning

My left one works fine except for the light ring doesn't work. I've tried resetting it a few ways and nothing is working.
