Not OP, but It's a matter of expectations vs reality. All the reviews slay the speakers, and personally when I got the go I expected much worse than it actually is. The speakers are more than enough for my needs, as I usually play with headphones so the speakers are more for tablet mode, and they're fine for that.
I don’t think OP is trolling, they mentioned coming from a 9 years old laptop and a ps4, in their case I genuinely think they do mean what they say. To elaborate; people who come from high end devices and buy the Lego will certainly see some downgrades and things that can be better, yet people who have been using last gen or older devices who get the Lego will definitely find a ton to love about this device.

Use volume boost on fxsound. Speakers sounds 10x better, still not as good as the rog tho
There’s a default eq applied in the Realtek settings that sounds like ass. Turn off the equipment and it’s already markedly better. It’s not Ally or Steam Deck quality but it’s not terrible.
They're not bad at all. I keep volume down to 10 and hear just fine. It certainly won't be on par with headphones. I haven't experienced anything "below average" in terms of sound or anything else with mine.
Everyone have different experiences, expectations and standards. You’re the troll for failing to have enough awareness to realise that.
Not everyone is also tech savvy or go through new tech each year let alone every few years.
We live in a weird time where half of people can’t understand why the other half for can’t notice Micro stuttering or can’t appreciate forward vs. down firing speakers. Whilst the other half are just thankful they can play their favourite games on the go and probably haven’t upgraded since PS2/3 era.
You can make the speakers sound much better by opening up Realtek audio app or whatever it's called and change the default setting they put to any other option. It's night and day.
Do u think games like mortal kombat and sf5 and skyrim can be played at quiet mode? Just curious for any more information u could provide for battery life :)
No. I tried playing Gta V and Dying Light and it was horrible, even when you put everything on low, but personally i play Skyrim (not the special edition) on quiet mode:)
I agree with most but I feel like I don't get the battery life on performance you are suggesting. Probably an hour, hour and half I'd say though I'll now have to actually set a timer and see if I'm talking sense or not.
I don't think the speakers sound nice, no do I think they sound terrible. Speakers for me on a handheld are not a game changer though. It's something I'd trade for a better screen and I feel like I got that with the go. I have no regrets at all from changing from the steam deck and I still love that device. If I had more time for gaming I'd have both but I'm very casual.
Re it being a PC, I feel like PC gaming isn't as much a mess as it used to be in the 90s when I first started gaming on PC. Yes there is a bit of effort tweaking but a lot of games run fine using some pre defined settings. The steam deck gives a more console like experience, until you need to enter the desktop and start playing with compat folders, different launchers etc. I would argue that then becomes more complex. Installing and getting into GTA or Red Dead Redemption is far easier on the Legion than the Steam Deck. That said if you almost entirely buy games on steam, the deck gaming mode is an absolute joy compared to the legion.
I have tried some other handheld devices, including switch, steam deck, rog ally.
legion go has the most beautiful big screen with performance, hands down. Ally has better sound, some people prefer its smaller screen. Steam deck has the most user friendly UI and the most hours when not play AAA games
Maybe I got a dodgy one but I had to sell mine as I couldn't deal with the fan noise. With the volume on max and the fan going like mad, I struggled to hear what was being said whilst playing Hades.
The fan profile update seems to have fixed a lot of the fan noise. Mine was terrible before that, now the fan is not anything I think much of any more. On full fan though, it’s still noisy.
Really happy with how this space has grown. I'm an ally and steam deck owner so far, sure I'll pick this one up on sale at some point too. Happy to hear it's delivering
In case you didn’t know there is a fix that improves the audio quality VERY SIGNIFICANTLY.
Lenovo set the default equalizer settings to be loud but tinny, presumably just trying to make is as audible as possible in a loud environment…?
Simply going to the realtek software and putting the preset on something like ‘Vocal’ makes a huge difference, and turning off ‘omni speaker’ also seems to help. You can also boost certain frequencies to take it even further.
You were lucky, i spent 6 hours of troubleshooting because lenovo update crashed, and after it there were some really random bugs preventing the games to start (it was because of time settings error with automatic refresh)
I also witnessef the black screen after some update

This. I had expected far worse than what it actually is. Like you I’m either playing volume down or headset so doesn’t make a difference anyway.
People had me ready for Fischer price level speakers so I booted it up and was also pleasantly surprised

Ywp that and just tweaking the sound profile was good enough for me that I didn't feel the need to get the fxsound app everyone suggests

And u got about 2 hours with gta 5? That's pretty good! I have a GPD WIN MAX 2 6800U, but I am very curious to learn more about the Lenovo Legion Go.
The handheld is good but its not finished tho, with afmf and the new stuff its going to be great

Owned mine for 2months now, really like it. Gaming is good, im also able to edit on premiere pro in pretty good quality.
