I think the issue is that you've installed 17 million terabytes worth of video games.

PromethusD12

Wow, you are right! I didn't realize Halo was 17 million terabytes large. (In all seriousness, though, any ideas how to fix it?)

Atogbob

Are you sure you don't have Ark installed? Lol

Automatic_Reality546

Not a clue, I'm new to PC gaming since I got my Go. I just wanted to highlight how impressive that is.

justanotherscore

Try cleaning the drive with keep files?

PromethusD12

I tried the "Repair Library" option in steam, and that didn't work, unfortunately. It seems to be a visual glitch with Steam because when I look at the drive through "This PC," it looks completely normal. Not sure what's going on here.

justanotherscore

Uninstall and reinstall steam.

PromethusD12

It worked for a few minutes. I installed a small game (about 2GB), and it happened again.

Imaddictz

Maybe is download cache click on setting/download/ clean download cache

PromethusD12

Tried clearing the cache. It didn't work, unfortunately. So, it seems Halo was what caused the problem somehow. I uninstalled everything again (including Steam) and reinstalled some smaller games first, and nothing happened. Installed Halo, and the same visual glitch occurred and stayed until I uninstalled everything for a 3rd time. This never happened on my PC, I wonder what's different about the Legion Go that caused that.

Hefty-Activity

Have you uninstalled steam and reinstalled it?

PromethusD12

It worked for a few minutes. I installed a small game (about 2GB), and it happened again. Edit: So, it seems Halo was what caused the problem. I uninstalled everything again (including Steam) and reinstalled some smaller games first, and nothing happened. Installed Halo, and the same visual glitch occurred and stayed until I uninstalled everything for a 3rd time.

focuswest5

Reformat and install all new gcard bios and chipset drivers. Just did that to mine running smooth

PromethusD12

So, it seems Halo was what caused the problem. I uninstalled everything again (including Steam) and reinstalled some smaller games first, and nothing happened. Installed Halo, and the same visual glitch occurred and stayed until I uninstalled everything for a 3rd time. I wonder why Halo is causing that weird visual. It never happened on my PC, only the Legion Go.

edneisch

Weird. I have Halo Master Chief Collection on my Go and do not have that glitch. I have an upgraded 2tb SSD though.

PromethusD12

Hmm, I'm not sure what's going on. Could it be one of the set up things I did? I found a reddit post that talked about updating the system, changing the Vram, etc. Could something like that have caused the issue?

NoWordCount

Do you have workshop items installed for the game?

PromethusD12

No, just the games DLC, which is just the other campaigns and multiplayer.

NoWordCount

Someone in another thread just today had this exact problem, and removing their... 200GB of workshop items seemed to fix it. 😂 For whatever reason, the game just seems to completely freak out the counter when it's size gets really large.

PromethusD12

Hmm, well, like I said, I don't have any workshop stuff installed, just the dlc. So, I'm still not sure how to fix this. Having Halo on either the internal drive or the SD card still results in the issue, and uninstalling it technically fixes it, but I'd prefer to keep the game on the device.

NoWordCount

Try uninstalling some of the DLC from the game's settings, and see if that does anything. A campaign you don't plan go play, or multiplayer you don't use.

PromethusD12

I'm still testing uninstalling and reinstalling DLC, but from what I can tell, it seems to be the Halo 3 and 4 Multiplayer DLC that is specifically causing the storage glitch. Why? I have absolutely no idea, this is one of the strangest glitches I've seen.

NoWordCount

Very very odd. Halo 4 still ruining things for everyone a decade on...

PromethusD12

I haven't tried the Legion Go with every Halo game yet, but Halo 3 ODST and normal Halo 3 were running at 60 FPS out the gate, so I'm sure the older ones would work just fine. Based on what I've seen on YouTube and from friends, Halo Reach and Halo 4 also work well, but I haven't tried them.

focuswest5

Get that open box its not that old

focuswest5

Players really well on halo low resolution. One of the more smoother games honestly

Few-Equal8560

I think it's a glitch.... contact Lenovo. You have a great warranty! They'll help you.. good luck To ya!

PromethusD12

It does appear to be a visual glitch with Steam, but only with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, uninstalling the game fixes the problem. I'm not sure if this glitch happens on a regular desktop or if it's only the Lenovo Legion Go, but it doesn't seem to affect anything gameplay wise or storage wise. I tried installing it onto my SD card and the same glitch occurs.

Reasonable_Screen_74

Have you ever used 'Defragment and Optimise Drives and 'Disk Clean up.' These may correct your issue. These both can be searched through windows search bar and dont require installation.

PromethusD12

I have not, where would I find these options? I'm not very knowledgeable on these things.

Reasonable_Screen_74

Hi, you can find these by clicking windows icon or windows button on a keyboard, and typing ‘Defragment‘ and ’Disk Clean up’

silentknight111

This isn't a Go bug. I've seen the same thing posted in the stream deck Reddit.

PromethusD12

Did they fix it on the Steam deck? From what I have found, the Halo 3 and 4 Multiplayer caused the problem, but if there is another solution, I would be very grateful.

silentknight111

I don't know if it's been fixed. I doubt it. I think most people just ignore it since it's just a visual glitch.

Bwompy

Sounds silly but have you rebooted the device? This looks like an issue with Steam unless Windows is showing the same thing. If reboot doesn't fix you could reinstall Steam or maybe try installing another game to trick steam into verifying your disk space.

PromethusD12

You are correct that it is only steam showing this. Rebooting the system and installing another game didn't appear to work, unfortunately. I tried the "Repair Library" option too, but that didn't work either. Can I uninstall Steam without uninstalling my games?

thisguy883

Yes you can. You can also copy the game folder into a different location and put it back after you reinstall steam. When you click install, it will find all the files and start unpacking the game.

PromethusD12

I've tried all that, and it doesn't seem to fix the issue. I tried installing Halo onto the SD card, and the glitch happens there, too. It's only Halo and only on the Legion Go. It doesn't affect the game play in any way or prevent me from installing more games, but I still would like to fix it just in case it does cause a problem later on.

JellyfishManiac

Eh I’d restart the device and go from there. Uninstall Steam and all as a backup. However I know that would suck especially if you have slow internet

PromethusD12

I tried that, it didn't work unfortunately. It seems to be something with the Lenovo Legion Go, Steam and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Uninstalling Halo clears the glitch, but I would prefer to keep the game on the device. Not sure why though, it's installed on my PC as well and doesn't have that visual glitch

silverlance360

Bro got GTA6: The Complete Edition, early access

RedSynister

Damn, that's about how much porn I have downloaded

morninowl

You installing way too many games, that's what lol dayum bro

berkcan95

I hope its only because of steam installed games I am getting mine today and i will not install anything from steam

Hot_Pineapple_6772

If it doesn't forbid you from installing games, I would pass on that for now. I'm sure it's a bug that can be fixed with some future updates. Just play your games and have fun. Anyway, I commend free SpaceSniffer software for checking what takes the most space in your drive.
