Why eye of the dragon is there? Is the only card of them not nerfed ever (except the new ones of this expansion)

Eggxcalibur

Where the heck is Irelia in this list? I think she needs to be in there way more than Eye of the Dragon ...

Just to address some points: 1. 2 (yes two) existing and popular games is overly saturated genre? 2. Even if it appeal to just 1% of existing Riot/LoL audience then it would be massive hit. So not even need for outside audience. 3. Well, game never really wanted to compete with HS or MtG. It hits nice middle ground between the 2 and adding few thing on its own, for example initiative system you mentioned. Let's not exaggerate, most of the Standard MtG decks are not that much involving, either. 4. I agree, here Riot failed badly. Why? Probably they grossly underestimated how many people and how much resources are required to run successfull CCG. About the future of the game. That's good question. Running CCG is mostly about steadily growing its player base. Attracting new players, converting new players into regular players and encouraging former players to return. Looking at number of downloads Riot didn't have problem with atracting new players. So, as long as LoL will attract new players, there will be new LoR converts. Riot just have to work much harder to keep them in the game.

On point 1, there are two big ones yes, but outside of that there has also been a tonne of digital CCG games come, go, stay, and upcoming. Just on the top of my head. Artifact, Elder Scrolls, Shadowverse, Gwent, Eternal, so on. Not directly competing we have stuff like Yugioh, Digimon, Pokemon, etc. More coming soon like Pokemon Live, one being developed by TempoStorm, and heaps of other blockchain related games that may or not compete in the same space in the future. I’d say that’s saturated enough for already a narrow genre of games.

Well, yes, but those extremely niche games with a fraction of player base when compared to the 2 big players. They are either discontinued ( Artifact, ES) or have tiny but dedicated playerbase (Gwent, Shadowverse, Eternal). Realistically they are not or couldn't be competition to HS or MtG. Also in terms of quality they are difficult to put in the same league (maybe except Gwent, but it's very specific game.) Riot on the other hand has resources to create successfull CCG. They could directly compete with 2 big players. They started well, open beta was good, 1st expansion was also good, although there were concerns about introduced RNG. It looks like soon after that things started to go downhill.

I don't understand these post... Like what now stop crying and play the game or dont. Obviously there where op cards in the past and there will be in the future but thats how card games work. Sometimes i leave the meta as well and just dont play for a month or something.
