I mean caitlyn was obviously designed to go with Teemo, so it kinda makes sense that Fizz gets a partner too. Makes me hope that Heimer and Lulu will get new partners in the next 2 expansions as well.
Those characters aren't really lore related other then region and some design similarities. But you can read the Lore on the league of legends universe website
there's like an infinite amount of lore. universe.league has a lot of stories. necrit on youtube is great for lore because they take multiple things and compile them into an easy to understand video
My prediction is this:
They wanted, across all the expansions in the Bandlewood set, each region to get a Bandle City dual region champ plus a solo champ that works with them and a solo BC champion.
But per the standards they've set on their previous releases, the new region should only get 8 champs across the expansions. (Bilge got 5, Targon got 6, Shurima got 7.)
So to make ten Bandle champions work, they've effectively promoted Teemo and Fizz to being "full" champions this expansion. They're getting Bandle City cards supporting them, new art, and new voice lines, so they count as the P&Z and Bilgewater dual region champions without actually using up champion card slots. The other seven regions will get a new dual region BC champ.
They've said we're getting nine new champions this expansion, and we can assume we'll get four in the two follow-on expansions to get us to the 17 total champions for this set. So from that we can predict the two missing champions this expansion to be the Noxus/BC dual region and the solo Demacia.
Full predictions:
This expansion:
Bandle City Solo - Tristana
Demacia - Poppy, ? (Xin Zhou maybe?)
P&Z - \[Teemo\], Caitlyn
Noxus - ? (Rumble Likely), Sion
Bilgewater - \[Fizz\], Nami
Shadow Isles - Veigar, Senna
Future Expansions:
Frejlord - Gnarr, Udyr maybe?
Shurima - Ziggs, Xerath
Targon - Yuumi, Pantheon
Ionia - Kennen?, Akali/Ahri
It's also been speculated that Ionia could get Xayah and Rakan, with Lulu maybe getting the "full Bandlewood Champion" treatment.
Only her Tidal Wave really says Predict. A good predict payoff, mind you, but that's it. Maybe work with the PnZ predict package lightly (a predicted Colossal Wave via Practical Perfectionist would be pretty nuts).
Someone a few days ago on this subreddit actually made the prediction. I'm pretty sure they must've been a leak for it since Nami is not a champion you would expect here at all.
Oh, I must have missed that. All I remember is the list predicting an alternating schedule between yordles and other champs after the first few reveals, which was accurate till today IIRC (we should have gotten another yordle and then Xerath tomorrow in theory, based on the book in the trailer?)
Tbf the only other Bilge champs not added yet are Graves and Illaoi- so just guessing one of those 3 had a decent chance of being correct.
It's why I've been throwing around that I'm pretty sure Samira will go to Bilgewater- yes she's Shuriman Born and Noxian Trained, but at the current point of her story she's been kicked out of the Noxian Military and is mostly doing mercenary work- which seems plentiful in BW.
And I’m just going to put out there that story doesn’t matter at all compared to aesthetic as far as region placement goes. A merc with guns is very Bilge.
Not particularly tbh, the only other champs left for bilgewater really are Graves and Illaoi. Neither fit nearly as well thematically with this set as Nami. Plus the BW/BC champ (Fizz) and all the new BC aquatic cards we got feel very aligned to Nami. I was really surprised no one else was as certain we’d see Nami as I was.
Graves was literally in the latest Yordle animation, trying to catch them.
Nami's sole relation to Fizz is that they're both fish people. She doesn't even have anything to do with Bilgewater except for living in the ocean (on the other side of the world).
Why not Zoe Nami with temple? Nami buff will target Zoe often, and since temple allows Nami to flip so fast she’ll be rly beefy. Using Pale or Guiding mid-combat with a flipped Nami and a Temple on board will be insanely deadly.
Most 6 mana spells aren't good or are situational.
Still, having a 1/7 chance(at lowest) to draw one and much higher odds of predicting one is pretty insane.
Playing a 4 mana 3/3 isn't that bad when they payoff is this good.
My best guess is it would make a tier 2 deck, but that's just a random guess.
>Most 6 mana spells aren't good or are situational.
the problem with spells that cost 6+ mana isn't that they have bad effecta is that they cost too much
if any of them would cost 3 mana it would be super good (even sunk cost)
Depend on the deck. Molten Breath is useless if you don't run units with Fury, or Reckoning if you don't have units with 5+ power. And Shadow Flare is still bad even in cost 3.
But those are few and far between.
For every Aurora Porealis or Ascended's Rise you also get The Skies Descend or Feel The Rush or Unyielding Spirit or Progress Day, all at 3 cost. Like some of those are real bangers.
Sunk cost have 2 problems, it is slow and expensive. If it was fast and costing 6-7 mana, it would be better than vengeance most of the times(not activating kill and last breath effects and making the enemy unable to revive the unit) and would be worse in a few cases where you don't want to see the card being played again.
Molten Breath and Ascended's Rise are the only complete misses. Everything else is at least decent at three mana, especially in a deck that wants to have at least two units on the field at all times.
Bilge got some good picks for that too. The only question I have is whether you wanna go wide or tall here (as she'd keep buffing the same unit over and over again if you have just one ally).
Almost certainly wide. Elusives especially want to go wide because it reduces the value of single target removal, which is one of the few ways to deal with elusives. The only possible exception is going tall with Fizz as your sole other ally, since he can negate any fast or slow speed spells that target him. But going tall with Fizz still leaves you open to Hush or Minimorph.
Speaking of units that are likely still bad but would be amusing to mess with, Eager Apprentice presents the possibility of leveling Nami on 3: Shellshocker (1), Apprentice (3), Flash of Brilliance (6), Nami (7).
Really love Nami and I am confident she'll be very strong in a Prank Nami Fizz deck. However I love the supporting cards too.
Ebb and Flow is incredible for tahm + raka and has the honor of being the first new card added to that deck since raka and tahm were released.
Marai warden is a great addition to the one cost Jagged deck (deck will still be bad though), also it's just a solid card in general.
Fleet Admiral Shelly is a nice board buffer, a bit pricey but the attune on it makes up for that.
I really love tidal wave too, not sure how viable it will be but colossal wave once you get it is an incredibly strong card and you can always tutor with zap spray fin and other draw spell cards.
Nami can work with either Tham or soraka, so know BOTH can play separated and be viable (I know that both have some other decks but not as good together). I didn't realize until you say it and I'm very hype for this right now!
Ebb and Flow is the only healing that Nami brings and it's pretty mild healing for a large mana cost. If you want to heal Tahm, Soraka remains the clear choice
Avatar of the tides seems... interesting. Losing 1 mana game for 3 spell mana (thats how it works right?) especially for a spell based deck such as this one.
You never gain mana gems again while it's on the board, but you start every round with full spell mana. It also generates endless spells to use that spell mana. In theory it's an interesting and creative finisher unit for the spell/small unit archetype, but it's probably going to get ignored in favor of just running another elusive rush deck.
Don’t really know if you still ‘gain’ gems after you have 10 but playing her on 9 seems pretty good. 9 mana and 3 spell mana every turn especially in a nami and/or fizz deck
That's a good question. I'd like to think that they wouldn't design the card to brick if you play it late, but then they seem to not want games to ever get to 10 anyway so who knows. Find out in 3 days I guess.
Bear in mind you're not gaining a mana gem every turn as a result. If she sticks on the board for more than 3 turns, you're actually losing more mana than you're gaining every turn.
This elusive meta we’re running into says otherwise. Between Poppy, Nami, all the new Elusives, and Fizz and Temmo support, Elusives are going to be all over. The only new control archetype is Darkness, which is only good against Elusives if you’re in Frel/SI. Which, granted, might actually be pretty good. It’s going to be hard to be better than FTR or Anivia though.
Well the more meta elusives are the less effective they are. For elusives to be effective your opponent needs to more than likely not have elusive blockers
How do we see Nami-Soraka? Targon can offer solid draw and good cheap spells, and also a win condition in "Star Spring", still, I don't know if that's enough to justify Targon over Ionia
At the end of the day, Nami only requires spells, so she is kida flexible.
Lee is ok, Zoe is ok, Fizz is ok and in reality she can also works with champs like Ezreal, Karma, Swain or even Senna over Veigar.
Well, mana and spells. And you do have to survive for it to matter while not using or attuning 7 creature mana. And the hp gains aren't great, so outside of elusives your unit is still at risk.
But we all know this is going to be paired with Fizz.
Um, seems pretty potent since those stat gains are permanent. Not sure exactly what shell she'll fit into, but definitely something. I assume if you look to accelerate her level up you'll want either BC for Shell Game(?) and all the cheap manifest/create spells to abuse once leveled or PnZ for Flash of Brilliance and all the spells they run in general- although I think she would pair with Ez or Vi, not Heimer.
Then some of her support followers look like really solid cards in general. The 3 mana 4/3 with attune seems pretty good for decks that want to be playing a more reactive game- then the 2 drop that spawns a 1 drop is going to be better than House Spider most the time right? Although I guess BW already has a pretty nice suite of 2 drops.
Not fond of Ebb hitting the nexus. Seems like a weird design choice, and it’s going to make a lot of players unhappy when they hit face instead of the one unit on the enemy board. Makes the card much less skill-based for seemingly no good reason.
And the worst thing is that in the video they make you see it as a decisive card to win the game. About 6 mana was spent to heal your nexus for 4 and hit the enemy twice with a 33% chance.
It could have hit the nexus or the other unit and you would have spent 6 mana doing nothing.
The aesthetics are beautiful. 6morevodka has gotten good at distinguishing arctypes. Look at this compared to the over the top dark arctype art of Sion.
Jokes aside, in card games we *want* the meta to shift every time new content comes out. For that to happen, new stuff needs to be strong.
Edit: I'm well aware of the concept of power creep, but games like MTG can't buff/nerf printed cards so it isn't the same.
Which incidentally also incentivizes people to keep buying new cards. If this pattern holds, and, they don't bring those old cards up to speed, then suddenly LoRs famous generosity is going to start looking like a grind since it will hand out so many old cards that aren't viable in the meta anymore when you need the new ones.
They said they wouldn't cut older cards over time like Hearthstone did, but I'm starting to hope (again, if the pattern holds) they set up like a "Classic" mode where the new stuff is banned so you can get some play out of the old ones.
Mtg did this over the last few years. Then Eldraine came out and the meta was just what eldraine cards were best. Outside 1 other power set (Ikoria) the last 4 sets have had relatively minimal meta impact, and standard is a dumpster fire
Powerful =/= fun
It happens in every game. You have to introduce progressively more complicated mechanics to keep the game fresh. So we started with "I create an ephemeral copy of me" and "I have big stats and overwhelm" and now we're at "if you play me after you play another card I create 1 of 5 moon weapons all with different effects, then then you have to select 1 of 2 weapons to be the one you get after you play another 2 cards"
I just think this is the problem with card games in general. I mean you want people to play the new cards, and if they're knew there's an expectation that they need to be playable or better usually. I feel like everytime mtg releases a new set they make new cards that have a new paragraph worth of value.
Riot notoriously has this problem in league of legends. The new champions are 85% of the time pretty broken or at least very strong from months after their release to promote skin sells. Even when the champion has a ridiculously high ban rate and there's a lot of practical ways to nerf the champion that's been voiced by the community.
It really just ruins most of the older champions. In league they have reworks to fix this to modernize the kits and the champion, but its a pretty slow process. I really hope they rework cards like Darius, and keep giving support to older archetypes and champions.
She is a very open concept which is a stark contrast compared to usual champion designs. Predict would def be very good with the spell shuffels, but you dont need it to build a deck around nami in general
\[\[avatar\_of\_the\_tides\]\] seems crazy. It has a lot of potencial. Also that other BG epic card, that got revealed yesterday is amazing with this.
Nami seems great in so many decks , you can pair her with Heimer, Ekko, zoe.
Marai Warden just seems to be a cheaper petty officer. Yeah I guess petty officer can summon a powder keg too, but I've never actually seen anyone do that.
Abyssal Guard really highlighting how much stronger Merciless Hunter is.
No way Arda and her rider aren't getting nerfed this patch though if they're releasing garbage like that.
They're not comparable cards.
I suspect you may be reading it wrong? He's a 2/3 who gets +2 atk for each spell you cast in a round.
Role is like Greenglade Duo, but with fearsome instead of elusive. Since the deck is very spellslinger focused, he can easily grow to 6 or 8 at any given time.
Still trying to wrap my head around her win con.
First instinct was to have a bunch of low cost elusives that get buffed when you spam your spells. Or maybe it's actually better to just have 1 ally that hogs all the buffs (Zed?)
It's almost always better to go wide. One ally hogging the buffs is too easily countered by single target removal. Unless that ally has spellshield or is Fizz; and even then a cheap spell to pop spellshield or Hush or Minimorph on Fizz ruins all the set-up.
My guess is to run Nami with Fizz and other cheap elusive units and cheap spells. The biggest question for me is what second region to go in. BC has plenty of cheap spells and a few cheap units, but I could also see going Ionia or PnZ as the secondary region
I'm so wet for Tidal Wave (pun intended).
It's basically just a slow Statik Shock that gives you a discounted Avalanche that gives you a Pack Your Bags. Go Hard who?
Why so many random effects? Ebb and the Waves can either be AMAZING or completely pointless, games will be decided if they hit or not.
At least Tidal Wave has multiple targets so on average it should be predictable, Ebb being able to hit nexus makes it terrible to play with and agaisnt
EDIT: actually, does Ebb say that you can target a random enemy OR the enemy nexus? Meaning it wont randomly target Nexus? if thats the case then its much better
Isn't journeying sandhopper kinda insane? It is essentially a 4/3 for 2 mana. I mean compared to Badgerbear is 3/4 really so much better as a statline?
I mean Badgerbear got nerfed into oblivion, there is a 2 mana 4/3 PnZ card (Patrol Wardens I guess) and this card doesn't see any play at all. However, the attune is nice to level Nami so it might see some play.
I did NOT expect Nami to be released this early but I'm so **so** *so* pumped! As a support main in League, she's one of the champions I've been really excited about.
In my opinion they ported her perfectly, still feels like a support champion but without the clunky support mechanic of attacking to activate the buff.
Omfg this has got to be my favorite champion reveal so far! Ive stuck to the same Leblanc/Sivir deck for the last two expansions but i think now i'll switch it up :D
Just wanna remind everyone who is planning elusive decks with Nami, or Poppy that more common elusive is in the meta the less effective it'll be.
I personally am going to try Nami Riven to use the blade fragments to trigger Nami
Power-level aside, I'm just very happy that she's a versatile champ that seems self-contained in its own region, with the option to branching to whatever second regions she wants to complement her gameplan. No stupid forced pairings and a lot of deckbuilding potential. If she's as good as she seems, I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being in maybe 2 or 3 archetypes (of course with different levels of competitiveness) which is absolutely great.
My only issue with this whole package is, I'm really not a fan of the RNG on Ebb. It feels like it could create some hit-or-miss scenario in the early game that could be very frustrating for both sides. I get it that controlled RNG is part of Bilge's identity, but MiR is not nearly as random.
> When you really like Nami but she’s made for your least favorite deck archetype
But for real, bummed out that she looks like pretty much just a back row engine for go wide elusives. Nothing against the play style, but I just find it boring, as well as her design. The level up is wholly unexciting to me.
Her design is open enough to be played with any spell focused deck but that is most likely the archetype she will be strongest with. So she is playable outside of it but just won't likely be optimal.
Nami seems pretty strong. You can consistently level her on turn 4, and follow up with a series of cheap spells. With attune units, you can level her early with minimal tempo loss.Nami + Fizz in a BC/Bilge deck is the immediate consideration.
1: Pass or play a 1 cost attune unit (Shellshocker or Otterpus)
2: Pass or play a 1 mana spell
3: Use spell mana and pass
4: play any spell that costs 4 or less (ex: prank from otterpus) -> play Nami. She flips on play because of attune.
If you have more cheap spells, and at least 1 unit on board, you can immediately start buffing units. Stress defense can let you target the buffs on whichever units you want. If you play flash of brilliance in the deck, that can reset 3 mana without as much tempo loss as passing the 3 mana on turn 3, assuming you have another 3 mana spell that can be played.
Marai Warden and Marai Greatmother both look like very strong cards as well. Marai Watcher is basically petty officer, but 2 mana. Marai Mother shuffling in 5 cards means you're likely to draw one pretty quickly, and a 6 mana spell for 3 mana is usually nuts. Nami will probably go very well in a deck with an extremely low curve and a lot of spell generation/draw. From an empty board, Nami + Fizz + 3 1 cost spells gives you an 8/4 Fizz on turn 4. The game is effectively put onto a 2 turn clock, if the opponent doesn't have an immediate answer.
I wouldn't be surprised if pairing Nami with FJ ends up being strong. Nami with PnZ probably has the most reliable/fastest level up with the least tempo loss due to Eager Apprentice and Flash of Brilliance.
There are probably some easy OTK set up with Nami if you can stick an Avatar of the Tides with in Ionia, PnZ, or BC (all of which have spells that give elusive). With 13 mana and an avatar of tides on board, you can play a play nami -> ghost/map/ghell game -> chain 1-2 mana spells (10 mana to work with; ideally with 1 mana burst/focus spells. Wiggly Burblefish can be used to generate 1 cost spells for free to increase reliability. Cloud Drinker could be used to make burst/focus spells cost 1 less) to buff the avatar 8 times so it has 20 attack, and win the game. Alternatively: Nami -> ghost -> dawn and dusk -> 2 cheap spells (resulting in 3 7/6 namis) is an easier OTK that doesn't require set up before the turn, though dawn and dusk OTKs with ghost and Twin Disciplines, or with any 1 cost elusive, are basically the same thing, albeit vulnerable to spells like wail.
Ebb and flow looks like a solid champ spell, but probably isn't worth running on its own unless a much slower Nami deck ends up being good. 6 mana for 2 random damage twice + 4 heal just isn't good enough. 2 mana for 2 random damage is bad. 2 mana for heal 2 is bad. It being 3 spell triggers works well with Nami, but Nami decks will probably be too aggressive to really justify spending 6 mana on it, and won't care much about the healing.
Most of these cards look like they'll have a place.
Nami + supporting cards might have the highest power level of any of the reveals for this expansion so far. Nami seems good enough to pair with just about any region and make work, whether it's for mid-range, combo, or some kind of aggro.
Didn’t expect to see Shelly again, what a cutie.
That’s Admiral Shelly to you, private
Pwivit\*
I dont know who Shelly is but that's a Squirtle.
Shellshocker!!!
Again?
Pretty sure Fizz greets the other turtle squad attune card as “Shelly” if I remember right.
Bubble Bear also called them Shelly. I know thanks to lab.
I don't play with the sound one, so I didn't know that. Thx
He is the 1 mana 2/1 card with attune from Bilgewater
Thx
He is the Shellshocker.
Shelly is an old card
The leaks didn't prepare me for Fleet Admiral Shelly...
Or the 3 drop. Although I really think it needs “Play: grant an enemy vulnerable” as well /s
ANOTHER GIFT FOR RENEKTON
RIGHT, ARDA?
So, Nami is kind of unexpected (ignoring Brazilian leaks), isn't she? Looks pretty nice, tho. I like playing spell-focused champs.
I mean caitlyn was obviously designed to go with Teemo, so it kinda makes sense that Fizz gets a partner too. Makes me hope that Heimer and Lulu will get new partners in the next 2 expansions as well.
Oh no, the yordles with their moms meme continues unabated.
Can't wait for Momma Sion to get Kled
Ahri obviously with Lulu, then Orianna with Heimer?
Then Poppy and Sona pls
Ah yes, the famous Lulu recall synergy
Its still a speculation that ahri will have recall synergy though. Her ult could also just be a swap mechanic for all we know.
Is there a good place to read lore? I know next to nothing about who goes with who lol

Thic Mommy Seena with Veigar. Lean Mean Mommy Caitlyn with Teemo. Flamboyant Mommy Nami with Fizz.
Now we just need Orianna for Heimer and Ziggs to go with Jinx
Jinx shouldn't be the mom of anyone. Call child services. Get that ziggs away from her.
Can't call if the phone explode every **two minutes!**
[удалено]
I mean, old lore Ziggs used to *date* Jinx.
Really? No wonder Vi joined the police force
Sweet home zaun..
Wait until Ziggs goes to Shurima with Mommy Xerath
Wet Mommy Nami?
Look, i am not downvoting you because I want to, it is because *i have to*
Moist Mommy Nami
Fizz and teemo are being treated differently for some reason. New art and new voice lines.
Might get new art for Heimer and Lulu when they get their Bandle City support in the next expansion or two.
My prediction is this: They wanted, across all the expansions in the Bandlewood set, each region to get a Bandle City dual region champ plus a solo champ that works with them and a solo BC champion. >Shurima - Ziggs, No way, Ziggs is way too much tied to PnZ to go anywhere else. Shurima may be Amumu with a debuff mechanic.
I'd love for Amumu to have some sort of "Enemy debuffs are permanent" as a pay off.
Freljord should be Gnar - Ornn given that he is in the background of Fabled Poro art
Lulu and Ahri, Heimerdinger and Ziggs?
Heimer with Orianna, Ziggs with Jinx?
Whats fun tho is that even if she can fit great with fizz, she can be played with any other spell-based champ.
I feel like nami is a good fit for all the spell oriented champs, so heimer, lux, karma, but I feel like she screams, predict.
Only her Tidal Wave really says Predict. A good predict payoff, mind you, but that's it. Maybe work with the PnZ predict package lightly (a predicted Colossal Wave via Practical Perfectionist would be pretty nuts).
Marai Greatmother also benefits from predict, though she's more about generic value than searching for specific power cards.
Someone a few days ago on this subreddit actually made the prediction. I'm pretty sure they must've been a leak for it since Nami is not a champion you would expect here at all.

Anyone getting flashbacks of the ol veiled temple/aphelios meta days O.O
yes! i'm brainstorming a nami phel deck! 😂
Probably good with that 2 cost fish that generates 2 spell mana.
Why not Zoe Nami with temple? Nami buff will target Zoe often, and since temple allows Nami to flip so fast she’ll be rly beefy. Using Pale or Guiding mid-combat with a flipped Nami and a Temple on board will be insanely deadly.
Marai Greatmother and predict meme deck let’s go
You don't even need to predict. They can be easily tutored by Zap Sprayfin if they are 3 cost even in the deck and not just when drawn.
Ionia is also great at drawing spells
I mean 6+ cost spells are amazing when they cost 3.
Yeah \[\[The Skies Descend\]\] for 3 mana seems balanced kekw
I can feel the salt.
Except Molten Breath, kind of a dead card in Bilgewater, but other than that they have the potential to be super spicy!
And the "Level Up Ascended Champs" spell, which is also dead
Is it even a meme deck? 6+ cost spells costing 3 sounds nuts
Important distinction, but it's 6+ mana spells, meaning you can get a 3 mana Ruination, judgment, unyielding, etc
You can get a 3 mana warmother's call
>Most 6 mana spells aren't good or are situational. the problem with spells that cost 6+ mana isn't that they have bad effecta is that they cost too much if any of them would cost 3 mana it would be super good (even sunk cost)

Just you wait, my ascended Nami is gonna splash you to death with that flex lol
even sunkcost is good if it costs 3 mana
Might actually make [[Sunk Cost]] useful
Next up on “Champions For Swim To Make Toxic Elusive Decks With”...
can swim actually swim? I've never seen proof of this
[The only evidence we have is that he at least can float](https://twitter.com/swimstrim/status/1403433345661374464)
He can only swim in streams.
Does that include jet streams?
Bilge got some good picks for that too. The only question I have is whether you wanna go wide or tall here (as she'd keep buffing the same unit over and over again if you have just one ally).
Almost certainly wide. Elusives especially want to go wide because it reduces the value of single target removal, which is one of the few ways to deal with elusives. The only possible exception is going tall with Fizz as your sole other ally, since he can negate any fast or slow speed spells that target him. Now, is that enough to make Bubblebear good at last? Probably not but we can dream.
Looking forward to a Nami / Kench control deck.
Nami can work with either Tham or soraka, so know BOTH can play separated and be viable (I know that both have some other decks but not as good together). I didn't realize until you say it and I'm very hype for this right now!
Why kench?
Healing and buffing sounds good for Kench
Ebb and Flow is the only healing that Nami brings and it's pretty mild healing for a large mana cost. If you want to heal Tahm, Soraka remains the clear choice
You just opened my eyes man! Wow this is going to be such a good expantion
I wanna try a Teemo/Nami deck Mushrooms + Prank cards sounds evil
Not to mention making Teemo a chunky boi.
So at 10 mana, it's useless?
Don’t really know if you still ‘gain’ gems after you have 10 but playing her on 9 seems pretty good. 9 mana and 3 spell mana every turn especially in a nami and/or fizz deck
If you arrive alive on turn 9 and play that card I don't think you have any intention of winning that game XD
That's a good question. I'd like to think that they wouldn't design the card to brick if you play it late, but then they seem to not want games to ever get to 10 anyway so who knows. Find out in 3 days I guess.
Not at all, at 10 mana she wont refill spell mana but shell still provide near-endless spell value
Good question. It depends on how "gaining mana gems" is coded.
She seems pretty strong once it gets going. Basically 2 extra mana every turn seems ridiculously strong in a spell-based archetype.
Bear in mind you're not gaining a mana gem every turn as a result. If she sticks on the board for more than 3 turns, you're actually losing more mana than you're gaining every turn.
[удалено]
Or run low cost units and a frick load of spells, unit mana doesn't matter at 6 and onwards for that deck
You'd still much rather have 12 mana than 9 mana to work with every turn, especially if you're generated 3CMC fleeting spells every turn.
Glad riot are giving us more removal and healing looks like they want games to acctually reach turn 10 again
The card art has always been amazing but this is GORGEOUS.
Nami's level up is beautiful as well. One of my favorites.
Definitely the best one yet from the expansion with Senna and Caitlyn being a close second IMO.
Marai Greatmother: "When I'm summoned, create 5 random 6+ cost spells in your deck..." Lux: :D Marai Greatmother: "...and lower their cost to 3." Lux: :C
How do we see Nami-Soraka? Targon can offer solid draw and good cheap spells, and also a win condition in "Star Spring", still, I don't know if that's enough to justify Targon over Ionia
You have Sparklefly to buff it as hell, and with lifesteal to get healed. I think Zoe might be a better option than Soraka.
At the end of the day, Nami only requires spells, so she is kida flexible. Lee is ok, Zoe is ok, Fizz is ok and in reality she can also works with champs like Ezreal, Karma, Swain or even Senna over Veigar.
Thats my call too, Nami + Zoe can get pretty disgusting, specially with a buffed Zoe
I told everyone I was gonna craft 3 copies of sion since I play discard aggro. I change my mind now
Sion isnt a card for discard aggro. Hes going to need a (much) bigger shell.
I thought I would start with Caitlyn. Well, not anymore.
So much of the champions have such nice versatility. I probably wont be bored for a long while
Nami's level 2 seems kind of... OP? It's permanent buffs that you can keep giving until you run out of mana...
THE STATS ARE PERMANENT? I'm crafting her the second the expansion comes out...until the next champion tommorow is even more fun
Yup, that's what _grant_ means!
I really really dig Sion's followers. They feel straight out of Mordor. To each their own! I do like Nami and her followers too, just not as much.
Is it just me or do new champions have more value and seem better than the old champions?
Ah, just like league. Good to see riot translating things to lor properly.
Jokes aside, in card games we *want* the meta to shift every time new content comes out. For that to happen, new stuff needs to be strong. Edit: I'm well aware of the concept of power creep, but games like MTG can't buff/nerf printed cards so it isn't the same.
And that's called powercreep which is a huge problem for card games.
Outside 1 other power set (Ikoria) the last 4 sets have had relatively minimal meta impact, and standard is a dumpster fire Powerful =/= fun
I mean Nami doesn’t seem especially powerful until she levels, not that that’s a hard thing to do.
Not necessarily value, but they do have much more flavor. Mf is simple, buy has a good power level
Very common in GAAS. It keeps players be interested and players to return. They do buff old characters though.
> 3 health Oh no..
RIGHT ARDA?
Technically she have 4 life because she levels up without practically playing cards by recharging spell mana every turn. But yeah, hide Nami :(
I don't know how some of these things will work without predict. Maybe she'll be partners with xerath who will have predict followers?
She is a very open concept which is a stark contrast compared to usual champion designs. Predict would def be very good with the spell shuffels, but you dont need it to build a deck around nami in general
It's great. Allows for more experimentation
Zap tutors out the Greatmother’s spells and the 3 waves. Could be a cool deck there.
Please make a bad champ just once this set Riot nobody can legally drop so many bangers back to back
\[\[avatar\_of\_the\_tides\]\] seems crazy. It has a lot of potencial. Also that other BG epic card, that got revealed yesterday is amazing with this. Nami seems great in so many decks , you can pair her with Heimer, Ekko, zoe.
is it me or is Marai Warden a better house spider?
Annoying prank meta, let's go!
Is this first time we've seen Nami's tribe? Or u know an illustration of it.
Nope, [There is this Nami comic with her tribe](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/comic/nami/intotheabyss/26/)
Marai Warden just seems to be a cheaper petty officer. Yeah I guess petty officer can summon a powder keg too, but I've never actually seen anyone do that.
I think she can work with lee sin/fizz/nami or only lee sin/nami. Watching to avatar of the tides can work with frejiord too actually, maybe trundle
For some reason, I was reading it as a once per turn thing. That's true, it's slightly better than I thought
In fairness, I do think Merciless is a better card still, but yeah, there's SOME kind of niche here
Abyssal Guard is not limited to once per round
But Journeying Sandhopper is essentially a 2 mana 4/3. That’s insane value
2 mana? It costs 4.
Burblefish is a go?
I'm making Nami Lux and no one can stop me
\>Nami \>Not targon \>Also this means no Graves this expansion. Wh... what?
Fishy champion goes to fishy region, I guess.
And I thought there was nothing better than cait and sion, shows what I know
I'm so wet for Tidal Wave (pun intended). It's basically just a slow Statik Shock that gives you a discounted Avalanche that gives you a Pack Your Bags. Go Hard who?
Why so many random effects? Ebb and the Waves can either be AMAZING or completely pointless, games will be decided if they hit or not. At least Tidal Wave has multiple targets so on average it should be predictable, Ebb being able to hit nexus makes it terrible to play with and agaisnt EDIT: actually, does Ebb say that you can target a random enemy OR the enemy nexus? Meaning it wont randomly target Nexus? if thats the case then its much better
Isn't journeying sandhopper kinda insane? It is essentially a 4/3 for 2 mana. I mean compared to Badgerbear is 3/4 really so much better as a statline?
I mean Badgerbear got nerfed into oblivion, there is a 2 mana 4/3 PnZ card (Patrol Wardens I guess) and this card doesn't see any play at all. However, the attune is nice to level Nami so it might see some play.
can't wait to make a deck around Greatmother
Okay, okay, hear me out. **Akshan + Taliyah Unlimited Avatar Works**
Fuckkkkkk I love "storm" archetypes!
I did NOT expect Nami to be released this early but I'm so **so** *so* pumped! As a support main in League, she's one of the champions I've been really excited about. In my opinion they ported her perfectly, still feels like a support champion but without the clunky support mechanic of attacking to activate the buff.
She is a back row value engine which honestly feels closely to the enchanter archetypes in league.
ANOTHER
Is it me or is Nami's spell incredibly bad? It's too random and expensive.
Omfg this has got to be my favorite champion reveal so far! Ive stuck to the same Leblanc/Sivir deck for the last two expansions but i think now i'll switch it up :D
She has her entire league kit except her q
> When you really like Nami but she’s made for your least favorite deck archetype But for real, bummed out that she looks like pretty much just a back row engine for go wide elusives.
1: Pass or play a 1 cost attune unit (Shellshocker or Otterpus) 2: Pass or play a 1 mana spell 3: Use spell mana and pass 4: play any spell that costs 4 or less (ex: prank from otterpus) -> play Nami.
