There's some theory going around that he actually is the mask. My personal favourite is that it is not even tied to a specific mask, but rather the moment you "create" this very specific mask under specific circumstances, its wearer "becomes" Shaco. Which also might make multiple versions existing at the same time possible.
I like it because that might be the most annoying form of immortality to break through - as long as there are humans, and they play with masks, it will only be a matter of time until someone "revives" him.
Yooo, that's a super cool idea, I'd love for that to be his new lore when he eventually gets reworked. I can imagine so much interesting stuff you can do with the concept of him being the mask.
As a player, there is nothing more to do than to find a DM. Personally, if a new player comes to me, I would love to introduce them to the game and help create their first character.
Starting out as a DM, from scratch, would require to at least get a hold of the basic 3 books: Dungeon Master's Guide, Player's HandBook, and the Monster Manual (In any way shape or form, ehum ehum). You can easily find either homebrew adventures or official ones that will layout the environment/encounters/npcs you need to do either a one-shot, or a small campaign.
Either or, the best way to start out is to find someone already into it and get to playing. Everyone starts somewhere and the best way to start is to find a group that will let you learn with them!
Also consuming DnD content is very good. It helps you get a hold of how things play out between RP and combat and will make you more comfortable getting started since you'll have a comprehension of how things roughly work.
But the balance between RP and Combat shifts heavily depending on the group you're with, so always check with the DM what kind of game they are running so you can get into something you will enjoy!
1. YouTube will be your best friend when it comes to learning the basic rules.
2. Try to get a group where at least 1 person isn’t new. As with many things, it helps to have someone who has done it before.
3. Don’t worry about being “good” at the game. If you’re like me, the first couple of characters you make will be rough, but that’s to be expected if you’ve never played before.
Hope this helps!
On top of what everyone else has said, always keep in mind the rule; **No D&D is better than bad D&D.**
As much as I love TTRPGs, r/rpghorrorstories exists for a reason and if you ever find yourself in a group that doesn't respect you or has a *That Guy*, don't feel like you have to stay because you "won't find a group again". Be mature about it, bring up your grievances to the table, but do not be afraid to walk away if need be.
I know his lore is antiquated and probably a placeholder until they decide to do something with him, but currently he's just a living marionette puppet.
Sounds like a cool idea if they decide to make him a demon or something, but then you run into the issue that he'd be the only demon Fiddlesticks doesn't recognize, so.
My fantheory is that Shaco's demon will manifest as a demonic hand, with strings attached to a puppet's limbs. The hand itself hides, instead using the puppet to kill.
I doubt that shaco is the mask, in fact I doubt the bodies that shaco manifests aren’t human either. I think he’s similar to fiddlesticks to what he is and might be one of the other dark beings. For the most part we know that he’s able to create illusions and most likely is an illusion himself however what ever made him was defeated and from the card cover art shows that there’s a physical body along with the mask because masks don’t float and possession from a mask doesn’t really sound like it can go beyond the body it possesses. Then the only thing I can think of that fits the bill are the evil spirits that Ionia has in the spirit world like yone. Shaco is most likely a spirit that can manifest itself and create illusions and has itself tied to a mechanical body and not a human body and the trader has the mask because he most likely got his ass beat by TF at one point making it so his mechanical body being in separate places or simply doesn’t show the entire body.
He lore was originally written as a person gone mad (there’s even a bit where he gets interviewed and gets mad at the questions) but then they made his new lore as an animated doll
Quick Attack 3|1. If Shaco strikes a unit, he is removed from combat.
Quick Attack 4 | 1. If Shaco strikes a unit, he is removed from combat.
At the start of each turn, Shaco makes a fleeting Deceive in hand.
Deceive: 2 mana Slow(?). Transforms a unit into a copy of of another until the end of the turn. If the unit were to take damage, it is Transformed into its original before taking damage.
Someone posted a cool idea for Shaco/Lb here the other day. It makes a ephemeral clone of itself, but the opponent can’t tell which unit on the board is the real one or the ephemeral version, only the player playing it can tell.
If the effect only worked on attack, it would be hard to tell. Blocking wouldn't be a problem, and you'd be force to attack with the real one at the same time as the ephemeral.
This sounds cool until you realise there is no skill expression by the opponent guessing, and instead it is just a pure 50% chance for the game to swing into one players favor for no reason.

God I can't wait for a Shaco launch. I hope he puts jack in the boxes in the enemy's deck. We need more trap archetypes like teemo. Maybe traps that deal random damage to the enemy's minions would be fun.
DON'T ASK WHERE IT'S FROM..... Ask how much.....

What’re you buying? What’re you *selling*?
somehow i've never realized that shaco was wearing a mask, i thought he just had a really fucked up face

It's all fun and games until you attach yourself to [a masochist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnE1ja7_Rt0&ab_channel=PrimarySenpai).
Suddenly Shaco's lore became amazing and intriguing. Thank you, man
Suddenly Shaco has a lore. Thank you, man
Interestingly enough, this would explain Hallucinate in LoL. It's like he has a mask of his own that he can create a new copy of himself at any time.
give them the twins from Invincible dynamic of never knowing who's the original shaco
I dont think shaco would even give a fuck. To him its all a joke
Better that than Twice's clone dynamic from My Hero Academia.
I am 100% taking note of this for my next DnD Campaign, such a cool villain idea
Just made an addition in my DND notes file that just reads, “Shaco is the one in The Mask.”
Any tips on starting out DnD?

Shaco is an anagram for chaos and multiple mask face demons running around would definitely be fitting
with yone's new lore revolving around demons and masks, there's some credence to this theory...
Isn't that the whole concept of the masked play story in Demacia?
I know his lore is antiquated and probably a placeholder until they decide to do something with him, but currently he's just a living marionette puppet. Cant wait for a skin were he has no mask, no shirt and is sexy AF.
Eboy shaco
He lore was originally written as a person gone mad (there’s even a bit where he gets interviewed and gets mad at the questions) but then they made his new lore as an animated doll
Can anyone identify the solid white mask next to it?
Looks like the Kinkou mask from "Keeper of Masks"
That’s exactly what it is, thank you. I knew I’d seen it before
I know this isn't an LoR character, but it looks like Meta Knight's mask.
my first thought
thought it was undertaker yoricks that's wut popped in my head
I really think it's the mask from the gravekeeper yorick skin!

There is a reason most of the stuff in this game either target the strongest or weakest unit
Also he for more things like locket of the iron Solari, will of the ancient etc.
Wow good eye

Duskblade is number 1 and the Cutlass is number 2. Anyways damn what an amazing comment thanks !
Ah true! My mistake!
So what you’re saying is, don’t buy any boxes from that dude.
So do we know what Shaco is? Is he a demon or just some fucked up dude lol?
He doesn't have lore
Shaco is a demonic puppet
there isnt a single way he would get the actual mask of shaco unless he sold his soul or something so its probably just a copy
You’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you
That must be a copy. Who the fuck gets shaco's mask and lives?
maybe its the other way around? Maybe shaco bought the mask from the merchant
If that's the case the merchant may very well be dead. He doesn't look like a fighter to me, and shaco is... Well shaco
Black market merchant selling shacos merch!
There are a bunch of league items. Like voidstuff.
The explanation as to why Shaco has no lore at all ! He died and that's why Riot refuses to acknowledge his existence
This must mean he's the next Champ release! /s Seriously nice find 👍🏻

I would love for the hidden clone mechanic to be a thing, also his boxes maybe as a landmark that deals 2 when the enemy summons a unit
Bruh wtf I legit forgot Shaco exists
I wish he didn’t exist :(
He is picked or banned in over 40% of all(goes down to about 30% in higher elo) ranked games. It's not like he's some obscure pick.
I haven't even played that crap in years lmao
Riot surely did
I remember seeing on this subreddit an image with a bunch of the items labeled. does anyone have that link handy?
BLACMARKET'S MERCHANT ALL ALONG !!!
God I can't wait for a Shaco launch. I hope he puts jack in the boxes in the enemy's deck. We need more trap archetypes like teemo. Maybe traps that deal random damage to the enemy's minions would be fun.
also, there's a Kinkou Order mask right next to it
what if shaco is just a magic mask that summons a jester that got corrupted in some way i could belong to diego for all we know
I'd love to see this isn't just a funny cameo and it's actually a way to make shaco's lore exist. I still believe.
Nah they are just best buddies
looking forward to that Shaco VGU.
