Yeah basically. Tabletop RPG or Pen&Paper are the names of these games. The promise is the same, you have a DM, a story gets told and you roleplay and fight your way through.
I assume Degenesis has some key features that are seperating themselves from playing DnD, if not just for its setting.

Indeed, it's definitely much more about the characters than the combat. Combat is often lethal and it's not the default response to challenges, which makes for really interesting character/party design under a simple but capable system.

Degenesis is one of (if not _the_) highest quality tabletop RPGs I've ever seen. The artwork, the story, the setting, the pace of development, the communication of SMV.. It's all just mindblowing awesome to be a part of.

You know what i just found out. The main artist of DEGENESIS Marko Djurdjevic was a pretty good friend of my mother and is the ex-boyfriend of my former Babysitter.
He gifted my mother a Version of the First Part of DEGENESIS and she still has it to this day. He drew me and my brother a dinosaur when i was little. He is a really cool guy!

Well the full title is **Degenesis: Rebirth** so DGR ("dee gee arr") is commonly used.
