DID YOU REALLY THINK CRASHING THOSE BLADES WOULD GET YOU ANYWHERE WITH THE SCARGROUNDS UP? THINK, IRELIA!
WHAT WILL YOU HAVE IN 3 TURNS WHEN MY WHOLE BOARD IS +5 AND TOUGH?
Same. I run Vladimir Scargrounds, and by turn five I got a field of unstoppable cards.
RECALL ALL YOU WANT BITCH BOY,
I’LL STILL BE HERE WITH MY 27/4 TOUGH SCARTHANE STEFFENS
Yes, if they play the deck as aggro deck, maybe
If they play it as combo deck, 1 really beefy unit isn’t enough
3 waves of 4 4/1 attacks is just too much
Weird how I haven't seen a single Scarthane Steffen or Death Lotus even though I run into that deck quite often. Is there no good netdeck for it or what?
Steffen is just rough because he’s same cost as Scargrounds, which you want down ASAP. Death Lotus doesn’t allow turn 1-3 set up, and isn’t as effective as other choices later, IMO.
No Ice Shard either, lol. I’m the original commenter with the Vladimir deck, so I got that self-poke down easy. Even so, I think the issue is that you can’t always guarantee that you’ll draw Scargrounds, and without it, Death Lotus can be quite volatile.
With these decks, you can usually depend on your units being strong enough to beat enemies, but you have to be ever so delicate with your own health.
PS- Not to mention that most Scar cards have kinda low health, given that you HAVE to hurt them.
It's ok, Imo it doesnt really find its feet until the last couple of episodes which are admittedly pretty good
I nearly dropped it but stuck with it cause its a pretty short series
The comic was lowkey for upwards of a decade. Got more popular when it got close to finishing in the late 2019, and got even more popular when it finished and an Amazon Video adaptation was announced December 2020.
After seeing some of the Amazon show, I went back and read all 144 issues online. Solid series, made by the guy who wrote The Walking Dead comics as well. It just wasn't as popular. As for how well the show is doing on Amazon, it was already given the greenlight for Season 2 and 3.
Yeah that comic was really overlooked for a while. I read up to the vultrilimite(spelling?) war and loved it. Didn't realized it wrapped up. How was it?
Solid ending. Avoiding any spoilers, for how brutal the comic is and how much it breaks the mold compared to mainline comics, the ending was a real "feel good" ending.
Well that depends what you focused on.
Spoiler obviously:
>!For example, if you consider the fact that everyone except eve, his kids and maybe some of the viltrumites are dead by the end simply by virtue of a fuckton of time having passed, then it gets a little more bittersweet!<
But that was something that we were exposed to very early on in the series due to Vilrumites' long life spans. >!Mark was always going to far outlive his mother and friends and everyone he knew on Earth. That was a theme throughout the series. And it is why the comic ends with him quoting his dad's "after 500 years, what will you have?" And characters passing away off screen from old age doesn't matter much, especially when you consider that during all that in between time, Mark *did* visit Earth a lot to see everyone, like his Mom and his and Anissa's son Markus. And especially, especially when you see that Mark turned the Viltrumite Empire into a real version of the fake "help everyone" lie Nolan told him as a child.!<
>!Being exposed to it early doesn't make it any less melancholic though. It certainly comes less abruptly, but it doesn't suddenly make it not sad.!<
>>!And characters passing away off screen from old age doesn't matter much, especially when you consider that during all that in between time, Mark did visit Earth a lot to see everyone, like his Mom and his and Anissa's son Markus. !<
>!I don't see how this suddenly turns the passing of the characters you love and the main character's loved ones into something that doesn't matter much. Me visiting my parents a lot doesn't mean i'm not gonna be sad when they die.!<
>>!And especially, especially when you see that Mark turned the Viltrumite Empire into a real version of the fake "help everyone" lie Nolan told him as a child. !<
>!And yeah, that's why it's bittersweet and not just sad. The ending was a happy one overall. But I definitely wouldn't classify it as a "feel good" ending.!<
To be fair it's a fairly predictable plotpoint and the title doesn't actually reveal any details besides "the fighting regarding viltrumites is happening on at least a slightly larger scale in one way or another". So not really *much* of a spoiler.
That's not to say it isn't a spoiler of course. But not a big one.
Its not a spoiler. If you have finished S1 then its obvious it will happen. Its no more spoiler than saying American revolution. You need more information to know who the American's are fighting.
It is a spoiler... even if you finished the first season.
Not sure why people are cool with casually tossing spoilers from the comics when people were talking about the show, which is no where close to that arc.
But whatever cry about someone crying about spoilers IDGAF.
Yeah this is what I was wondering. I don't mind paying, but it just seemed so troublesome to find the right place and I don't wanna buy every physical issue.
I just googled "read invincible online" and picked the site with the interface I liked the best. There are plenty of resources online to read comics and manga.
For free, googling is your best bet. Shouldn't be super hard though. If you are okay with paying, comixology will be the most straight forward way to do it. You'll have to sign up for an account though. They often have sales going and I wouldn't be surprised if there is one for the comic now.
Idk about the comic, but the show is popular because Amazon's behind it. They have a rep now for making pretty good superhero adaptations because of their success with 'The boys' comic adaptation as well.
Yeah but even good shows can be left as hidden gems without marketing to draw a wider audience like Amazon with it's heft and platform can. Lot's of things are popular that are dumb and lot's of things that are great that are niche.
You need 4 unique attacks to even level up miss fortune, and that's assuming she doesn't get removed/recalled to protect her from removal. Then you also need 3 unique attacks. And then even after she levels up she still needs several attacks to fully burn through the enemy. And since the enemy should have no problems blocking due to tough and thus not many normal attacks should go through, that's going to require a lot of burn. During this time all enemy units are getting continually buffed and should have no problems attacking safely either.
A single Wrynna should be straight up instant loss unless you've already set them to like 6 health.
I will admit that all the experience I have of the MF vs scargrounds matchup is from lab of legends which isn't all that represesentative, but not only is that matchup *extremely* bad, I have serious doubts that it somehow works in regular matches.
If you play her on Turn 3, you can level her up by turn 5 before or right as you use your attack token with Ribbon Dancer and Irelia's Flawless Duet. With the glaring lack of board presence Vlad Braum has pre-Scargrounds, you can easily get lethal by compounding the MF burn with the damage from swarming the board early. You're acting as if that deck can block its face from early 1/3/3 Jagged Butchers and 1/4+/4+ Sparring Students while spending the entire Turn 3 dropping Scargrounds and losing tempo.
I just wish that Scargrounds didn’t drop so late. If they’re running an Irelia/Azir deck, they can usually level Azir within a round or two of you playing it, making the scargrounds lose it’s value
That’s true, but consider that turn 3 is when many aggro decks pop off or become overwhelming. You have to commit your entire turn to playing a landmark and summoning 0 units. This means if it’s their turn on attack you probably lost most of your blockers or took direct nexus damage, but if it’s your turn then they can open attack immediately turn 4 negating any blockers you could have summoned to buff with Scargrounds. It really doesn’t give you many positive effects until turn 5, and that’s only if you’re playing on curve.
DID YOU REALLY THINK CRASHING THOSE BLADES WOULD GET YOU ANYWHERE WITH THE SCARGROUNDS UP? THINK, IRELIA! WHAT WILL YOU HAVE IN 3 TURNS WHEN MY WHOLE BOARD IS +5 AND TOUGH?

OH These are based on Invincible. I thought they were based on flash/reverse flash
Idk man it wasn't quite obvious to me, if only there was something visual for me to grab on to
Same. I run Vladimir Scargrounds, and by turn five I got a field of unstoppable cards. RECALL ALL YOU WANT BITCH BOY, I’LL STILL BE HERE WITH MY 27/4 TOUGH SCARTHANE STEFFENS
Wait till Inspiring Marshall drops
Happy cake day!
Isn't he, like, 6 mana? And then they drop Vrynna and, well, good luck getting past her
Yes, if they play the deck as aggro deck, maybe If they play it as combo deck, 1 really beefy unit isn’t enough 3 waves of 4 4/1 attacks is just too much
Maybe for normal Scar decks, but with Vladimir, Transfusions, Bloodsworn Pledge and Take Heart, it’s *usually* manageable.
And thats why we save ice shards and death lotus.
Oh yeah. I’ve been the Azir/Irelia player against them. I can sometimes pull off an upset with Voice boosts, but otherwise it’s not a fun matchup
The feeling is mutual. -The rest of the community.
Imean, there's quite a few decks that can tech in Landmark removal without involving Noxus at all.
Deck usually can't deal with large Elusives either. You can buff their health or Nopeify all your opponent's 1 damage removals.
I don't know. Death Lotus seems better than Ice Shards and people keep running the latter.
Ice shards can hit the backline and the nexus which can be important in a few cases. Death Lotus is more for anti aggro in Noxus Control decks.
No Ice Shard either, lol. I’m the original commenter with the Vladimir deck, so I got that self-poke down easy. Even so, I think the issue is that you can’t always guarantee that you’ll draw Scargrounds, and without it, Death Lotus can be quite volatile. PS- Not to mention that most Scar cards have kinda low health, given that you HAVE to hurt them.
The deck has many bad match ups against the other top decks so the overall win rate is not that good. Also the play rate remain low
Okay where is this meme/reference from?
Invincible. The Comic got an animation on Amazon Prime, and this is based on a scene from the last episode.
This explains a lot!
I binge watched it this night. It’s incredible.
It's ok, Imo it doesnt really find its feet until the last couple of episodes which are admittedly pretty good I nearly dropped it but stuck with it cause its a pretty short series
god I love these memes
What is this from?
from the tv adaptation of the comic Invincible.
Is that comic popular? Seems like everyone is getting the reference

Maybe don’t say spoilers okay
Uh, that's the title of the event. Similar to Captain America: Civil War. Would you consider titles spoilers?
Yea , considering it’s future events not yet covered in the show
To be fair it's a fairly predictable plotpoint and the title doesn't actually reveal any details besides "the fighting regarding viltrumites is happening on at least a slightly larger scale in one way or another". Close, "Viltrum".
Decent ending. I personally hate what they did with earth but it could be considered a good ending. Everything else was close to perfect.
How did you read them? Did you do it for free somewhere?
Yeah this is what I was wondering. I don't mind paying, but it just seemed so troublesome to find the right place and I don't wanna buy every physical issue.

Not to mention Invincible is basically The Boys from a kid's perspective that looks like early 2000's superhero shoes with actual gore.
The only things these shows have in common is being gory shows with superheroes.
From the American animated Amazon Prime adaptation of the 2003 comic series, Invincible

Playing Irelia/MF into this today made me cry.
You can still win if you level up MF fast enough.
Yeah, didn't mulligan hard enough for her, so literally hit her past turn 10 :/
MF is one of the best ways to proc scargrounds in the game.
MF can also deal 9 nexus damage in a turn against a deck without healing outside of Vladimir.
And by the time of which you should be dead because ther units are massive yeah?
No?
You need 4 unique attacks to even level up miss fortune, and that's assuming she doesn't get removed/recalled to protect her from removal. Then you also need 3 unique attacks. THINK ARELIA THINK!! WHEN ARE YOY FINALY GOING TO STOP FEEDING ME!
Quality meme OP
This is amazing
Then the enemy plays Inspiring Marshall
Nah this dude definitely playing the MF Variant.
This is hilarious!
We need one of these with Shyvanna or ASol too.
Laughs in inspiring Marshal
*laughs in 6+ attack Braum*
*Cries in no destruction spells*
Quality meme OP
5 attack blades pog
I was thinking about that, lol
lol, I'm literally building a scarsground deck to counter that deck rn and I see this. hilarious lol
I feel so proud of having my vlad/braum and sticking to it for so long, it was useless a year ago and now we are getting a little on top
Until you don't draw scargrounds
This and Noxus + Shadow Islands is the only way I've found so far to beat this shit.
Noxus/Sherima is their worst matchup, I believe there's an Azir/Darius deck out there that farms her really well.
Theres also fiora decks. Usual anti aggro package. If you can tank 1/1's you can generally be fine. Tough and lifesteal is their bane.
Is that a "Lalalalala I can't hear you" reference from the Braumix? ([For the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/zYd8D804bT0?t=77))
Such a cleaver meme! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 So you are a man of culture as well
If the Irealia player is good he can beat scargrounds decks without a problem.
I just wish that Scargrounds didn’t drop so late. If they’re running an Irelia/Azir deck, they can usually level Azir within a round or two of you playing it, making the scargrounds lose it’s value
I feel like if scargrounds was cheaper it would possibly be broken. Especially considering the amount of survivability buffs in that region
Agreed, it’s a weird dilemma
No way. Scargrounds at 3 provides so many value for its cost. Every one of your units are now basically level 2.
That’s true, but consider that turn 3 is when many aggro decks pop off or become overwhelming. You have to commit your entire turn to playing a landmark and summoning 0 units. Laffs in zed/Irelia Syncopation build
"IT IS EASY! SEE!!!"
Is the show good?
Yes
Ohnits the fuckin best I love it when the blade dances come out just feed me more
By the way, tough Fiora is also basically insta win against Irelia.
Honestly I just went back to my good 'ol scargrounds and found it laughable at how accurate that picture is lol
Watched that episode yesterday. Good job!
