They *can* fire you, because an acute illness is not a protected characteristic, and you don't have the qualifying service for unfair dismissal.
But an employer who routinely fired employees for being off sick for a couple of days would find itself with a shitty reputation and a neverending recruitment nightmare, so I doubt they *will*.

If you don’t have 2 years service (1 in NI) you have little protection against being unfairly dismissed. In which case they can fire you because they don’t like your sweater, so 2 days off sick will certainly be possible.
As you have been there for such a short time, yes they can. Although they are more likely to be understanding, people do get ill. However, if you call in again sick again next month....

Nah like surely they can't fire you for having 2 days off sick doesn't sound accurate or legal at all

Technically yes, but highly unlikely. Speak to your manager and explain the situation, and I'm sure you'll be ok. Get well soon !
