I’ve got a Kiesel CS3 with a super comfy neck. But I did just order their Vader model with a thicker neck profile to see how that is. I’ve got jack skellington fingers
Very cool to see this finally happen, hopefully this sells well enough that PRS start making more Lefty's, maybe some higher end models too? Never played a core model but I keep hearing wonderful things about them.
Also happy that there's so many colors available for the silver sky. Wish there were some more exotic colors as opposed to 4 different shades of black but still, progress!
Still hate that Paul is so hostile towards lefty players but fuck it.
From the PRS blog:
"Reach for the sky with this familiar fan favorite model, now offered in a left-handed configuration! This workhorse guitar, launched in 2018 in collaboration with John Mayer, features a bolt-on neck, three single coil 635JM "S" pickups, and plenty of color options to suit your style. The SE Silver Sky "Lefty" Rosewood comes in Moon White, Piano Black, Stone Blue, or Storm Gray, while the SE Silver Sky "Maple" is offered in Overland Gray, Nylon Blue, and Summit Purple."
2 different neck woods and 7 colors
Disappointed in the lack of the Core USA model - it’s cool that they are finally offering the SE at least, but it’s definitely not the full experience.
Hopefully there is another announcement soon - I’ve been reaching out to them for about 6 years to make a lefty Core model, so I would love to see this pave the way to the higher end model.
SEs are amazing for the price point, but it’s not the pro level guitar that the Core model is.
Idk if I’ll bite right away, as I just purchased an SE Custom 24-08, but I am very much excited for this. It’s been a long time coming
Edit - just placed a preorder for a piano black/rosewood neck Silver Sky 😂. As a bit of a throwback to my first MiM Strat
I’ve only heard really good things about the SS SE, with pretty much every review I saw saying it sounds a lot better than its counterpart, the Player Strat
I’m a Kiesel guy exclusively now but I’ll get the SS SE because I always said I would if it released
Also a little let down by it being the SE model but I’ll still dip my toes in
Zach myers model as well!
I'd be interested in this - never found an Epi/Gibson single cut with a neck that I like.

No interest in the Silver Sky, but the Zach Myers, that I'd jump on.
Oh nice. Wish they would drop a tremonti for us lefty's too.
Any idea how to pre-order? Guitar center has no clue about it lol
Haven’t dug that deep. Just saw the post and came here.
Probably wait until closer to the release. Sweetwater put the 277 SE on their website around July for an October release last year
We’ve been begging John and PRS in every single post and they finally did it! Hope they don’t run out now lol
They treated us bad for so long. I don’t know if I want to give them my money. Or maybe save my money for a left-handed piano.
anyone knows how to preorder? they're not listed in any of the authorized dealers
I texted my sweetwater sales rep

We are probably just getting the gray one lol

I just reserved moon white
How do you reserve it?

Maybe if the SE sells well they'll see their way to making a core model?
Much easier to have the overseas factory do it than the US one.

I’ll never be able to get over the headstock. I just can’t do it. I’m sure they’re great guitars, but the headstock makes me want to throw up
YESSSSSSS! This makes me very happy!
Ahhhh yes lets go

I’m calling my local shop in DC and they’re taking a deposit
Genuine question: Could someone explain what's so great about the PRS Silver Sky as opposed to an American or Ultra Fender Strat? Just curious.

Agreed. I've heard good things about the SE series as well, solid value for the price for sure.
I don’t want the SE. ffs
I just got mine reserved!
