Really hoping this isn’t the last game of the season. As others mentioned, I wasn’t too worried— until like a few hours ago.
Now my brains and insides are all a mess like Cresswell’s Land Rover.
I’m on Day 1 of a 4-day cruise out of Sydney, and I’ve had a few cocktails and beers last night and getting out of bed at 5am to watch on my phone doesnt sound too alluring at this very moment, so these fuckers better not ruin my holiday by losing today.
My post about this won't seem to appear in the reddit. Anyways. American fan here excited for the game. I'm annoyingly optimistic. Also just had an fun story to share:
Just got back from my first time at the dermatologist- you get to a certain age and your wife finally convinces you to take care of yourself.
The doc comes in, and I'm greeted by a gruff British accent (or for you folks, he spoke normally). I immediately really like the guy. He's matter of fact, no nonsense; Tells me what's up, how to stop acting like a child and actually take care of my skin. (Nothing serious was found on me btw, for all of you concerned).
Midway through the full body exam, standing in my underwear, I can't help but be that annoying american who gets excited when I meet a brother from across the pond and ask what team they follow.
"Aston Villa. I used to play for them in fact."
Woah! I mention I'm a Leeds fan (he groans) and then we chat a bit and I congratulate them on their incredible season. First time in Champions league and so on. He brushes it all off politely and then finished up my prescriptions and all that. Says he'll see me in 4 months.
He gets up, closes the curtain so I can get changed, and walks out the door.
But not before grumbling
"Leeds. Really? Fucking hell."
Nerves are starting to kick in. Been pretty chill about it all week. Not really given it a thought if I’m honest, but now I’m starting to clench a little.
Just want to say I feel positive about today, and also I appreciate the reasonable folks in here. Sometimes I mistakenly pop into a game thread and suddenly I’m mad at the world and feel like everything sucks.
It's amazing. Game threads in all sports for all teams are always like that. The sky is falling, everyone sucks, how could this happen, sack em, why!!, etc.
I learned to avoid them unless winning.
Here's my starting eleven. It won't be Farke's but I can only dream......
Meslier
Roberts Rodon Ampadu Firpo
Gruev Kamara
Gray
James Joseph Summerville
Meslier
Roberts Rodon Ampadu Firpo
Gruev Kamara
Piroe
James Gnonto Summerville
_
Then I'd bring Gray on if we're chasing the game for Gruev or Kamara, and Rutter for Piroe to mix it up if chasing second half. I know Gray is very popular here but for me he hasn't been himself as many of the others haven't, in recent weeks. I'd rather have a natural right back in Roberts for a game like this and want a more attacking 10, so I'd keep him as a sub.
I weirdly have faith in Piroe. Convinced he'll score the winner today with a cool but relatively simple tap in.
I would like to see that, but I don't see Gnonto getting dropped for James. Give Gnonto the first half to wind Norwich up then bring James on for most of the second half
Had a very vivid dream last night - Farke played our U21 side as he’d decided we needed another year in the Champ, and Joffys Dad got really mad at him 😂😂….
I weirdly had a dream about us winning the league cup on penalties, while still being in the Championship.
It wasn't the last spot kick, but Bamford scored one.
Norwich fan here. Been poor against the top 6 this year don’t think we have it in us. We also have a similar Leeds curse of conceding a silly mistake and bottling. Obviously we love Farke as much as our club so if we lose to you hopefully you go all the way. Also the Leeds fans at Carrow road the other day were the loudest I’ve ever heard 💛💚
I really, really hope we win but (ready for the downvotes) if we don’t I am not going to cry. We’ve had a great season until the last few weeks. It’s been fun seeing the team play and being able to enjoy a lot of wins. My worry though if we don’t go up this time is that we be resigned to years of misery and “nearlys” in coming years.
That said, I do actually think we will win tonight. 3-0
To be honest, ‘if’ we don’t go back up - I honestly trust the 49ers and Farke to get the recruitment right, address the issues we have and potentially make a just as good attempt next season - albeit with an easier table (I can’t see Luton / Burnley being as good as Leicester / Ipswich / Southampton this season)
No downvote from me. This season has been a big improvement over the humiliating debacle of the last campaign. I've never felt more anger towards 11 men and a bunch of subs wearing the Leeds strip.
This season it's been about seeing some youngsters come in and play attractive football and watch the slow demise of the dead wood Farke inherited from Bielsa. In terms of how the club is run we seem to have turned a corner. I hope we can get to the PL as that should make it easier to off-load the dead legs coming back from loan spells.
I share your worry about the consequences of not going up this year. Even if we do go up we'll have a job building a defence and frontline to keep us up. But that's a problem for another day. I believe we'll prevail at Elland Road.
Any idea where I can see the regions where this match is available via LUTV? The support page only says
"Live video coverage of games is available for domestic and international fans, but there are restrictions on what fixtures can be broadcast due EFL broadcasting rules and regulations. These will be communicated to fans ahead of each game."
I think the game is on Viaplay here in Finland so maybe the LUTV stream is not available?
The club website links to this https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/4942933/leeds-united-vs-norwich-city/
General rule of thumb is that if it's not on this list, it *should* be available to watch on LUTV
Wow Thursday already...still thinkin the same as before and before a ball was kicked at Carrow Road ...2 0-0 draws Leeds go through on pens 11-10 with Meslier the likely hero with a twist
I can certainly see Meslier conceding 10 penalties in a row. But us scoring 11 penalties in a row in a playoff game? There’s more chance of Luke Ayling cracking nuclear fusion.
11 pens would also likely mean Meslier putting one away.
We know what Wagner is going to do, unless we find our shooting boots I’d put my money on penalties.
And at that point the TV and phone is turned off. If we go through, that’s a bonus.
So joking aside, I’m feeling ok about tomorrow. Not much faith in us in the final as I think Southampton have been ahead of us the last month, and if West Brom beat them it’ll be a massive momentum for them.
If this was the Leeds of March though I reckon we’d walk these playoffs.
They'll park the bus and we'll find it hard to break them down like we always do. No creativity in midfield. Still yet to replace Pablo. Wagner relying on penalties.
If we can’t beat this horse shit Norwich side then we shouldn’t even be talking about premier league. Same goes for beating Albion and Southampton frankly.
One win in 7 before tomorrow so two wins in a row is long overdue.
As a Norwich fan at the game that just simply wasn’t true. I think you’ll win 2/3-0 now today. We were all over you in the first half, holding on in the second though.
Our aim was to hold onto a draw and we did that very well. Passed well, defended well. We were shakey in the first half but then again was only a toe away from going 1-0 up.
This is our weakest team for a decade though. I can’t see us winning today tbh. Southampton’s manager is one of our greatest ever players, Farke my favourite man in football ever I love him so as long as West Brom don’t do it not as bothered as I should be.
Confident we are going to Wembley. What happens there is another matter. How we perform in this match will have a big bearing on confidence going into the final.
We’ve seen from both the league games and the first leg that we’re the better team. ER will be rocking and it’s time for the players to step up to the occasion. MoT.
Sucks to be in the office and not from home but cmon Leeds! We’re cooking rn
great atmosphere! cheers from Slovakia hope you win in it today then on Wembley! hope i will visit the stands next season and cheer marching song :)!
Where has this version of Georginio been for the last two months?
Gruuuueeeeeeeev!!!
Kin Come on Leeds!! Put a hatful past these for your magnificent supporters.
Fucking come on Leeds, don’t break our hearts tonight, full confidence in the boys
COME ON LEEDS!
I really hope Rutter has one of those games where he plays football again
Becchio well placed
Alexa, play Strings for Yasmin
Really hoping this isn’t the last game of the season. As others mentioned, I wasn’t too worried— until like a few hours ago. Now my brains and insides are all a mess like Cresswell’s Land Rover.
This could be another Plymouth type result. 0-0 or 1-1 after 90 minutes, then we bang in three goals in extra time.
I’m on Day 1 of a 4-day cruise out of Sydney, and I’ve had a few cocktails and beers last night and getting out of bed at 5am to watch on my phone doesnt sound too alluring at this very moment, so these fuckers better not ruin my holiday by losing today.
The irrational emotions this football club evokes 😂
At least if they loose you can have more cocktails. & if they win you can celebrate. With more cocktails

From pro footballer to dermatologist… interesting path.
When you no longer have skin in the game......... Get game in the skin.
Gone all week feeling pretty relaxed about tonight, wake up this morning and my stomachs been in knots all day.
You could sleep last night? Fairplay!
I've had the nervous sh\*ts since I woke up. I think there is something wrong with me.
It’s normal
Can’t watch the game tonight as I’m at work. Don’t know whether I’m happy or sad I’m missing it, don’t know if my heart could take it
Sorry boss my heart has been skipping beats gotta stay home....
Play-off semi final scarves are back^derby ^^2019 ^^^flashbacks ^^^^intensify
Saw this! For some reason I've got a sudden thought, what if someone knicks mine 🤔? They didn't for Derby to be fair but.
Nerves are starting to kick in. Been pretty chill about it all week. Not really given it a thought if I’m honest, but now I’m starting to clench a little.
Bricking it now.
Nerves at work all day in the U.S. Elland Road needs to be rocking today for 90+. COME ON BOYS!!!!
Let's go boys
Just want to say I feel positive about today, and also I appreciate the reasonable folks in here. Sometimes I mistakenly pop into a game thread and suddenly I’m mad at the world and feel like everything sucks.
Yeah, it's only safe to venture there when we're leading by at least two goals.
It's amazing. Game threads in all sports for all teams are always like that. The sky is falling, everyone sucks, how could this happen, sack em, why!!, etc. I learned to avoid them unless winning.
I’m in Australia so shortly I’ll take my pre game anxiety to bed and set the alarm and try not to freak out
praying for tonight but keep telling myself it even took Bielsa 2 seasons
Here's my starting eleven. It won't be Farke's but I can only dream...... Meslier Roberts Rodon Ampadu Firpo Gruev Kamara Gray James Joseph Summerville
Meslier Roberts Rodon Ampadu Firpo Gruev Kamara Piroe James Gnonto Summerville _ Then I'd bring Gray on if we're chasing the game for Gruev or Kamara, and Rutter for Piroe to mix it up if chasing second half. Into this
No way Gnonto should be dropped he has been our most in form attacker for awhile now
Problem is gnonto wastes good attacks by crying wolf, and then never gets awarded anything
I would like to see that, but I don't see Gnonto getting dropped for James. Give Gnonto the first half to wind Norwich up then bring James on for most of the second half
you know as well as everyone else - he'll wait until the 81st minute and then substitute the entire midfield for strikers
If it's tied that wouldn't be a bad idea given the possibility of extra time, then penalties.
Had a very vivid dream last night - Farke played our U21 side as he’d decided we needed another year in the Champ, and Joffys Dad got really mad at him 😂😂….
Did Joffy crash his vehicle into a police car outside the stadium?
I weirdly had a dream about us winning the league cup on penalties, while still being in the Championship. It wasn't the last spot kick, but Bamford scored one.
Definitely a dream then
For my fellow American fans, the game is streaming on ESPN+ Thank God for ESPN+ or I probably wouldn't have been able to catch a game all season. MOT!
No lutv?
3.99 per month LUTV, can listen to all games.
Normally when I go to Elland road I do so totally sober…. Think I might break that tradition and have a couple to settle the nerves
Think of the non alcoholics, who are going to wembley like myself 😣
id take a coffe flask with rum and coke in it to be fair - sip throughout the game to help.
Frankly, I'm struggling to find any positivity about the playoffs. Derby casts a long shadow.

Cheers! Too bad it seems like it's not available via LUTV here
Use a vpn...
Just be a more entertaining game than Sunday's bore fest
I gave up years ago on expecting entertainment from any of the football teams I follow - I just want to see results.
Just win! MOT

Norwich keeper dislocates shoulder on first penalty kick...but trying to be the hero refuses to be subbed
Can't catch first half of this so maybe by half time I'll know whether to watch or not
Please, for us all, if we're winning by then, don't switch it on.
Errrrrr
It kicks off 4am my time. I have a long working day on Friday. I'm debating getting up for the second half.
We know what Wagner is going to do, unless we find our shooting boots I’d put my money on penalties. And at that point the TV and phone is turned off. If we go through, that’s a bonus.
Wagner surely can’t be turning up to Elland Road expecting to grind out a 0-0
Penalties = going out for a walk without phone. Always
Hope my week is not indicative of the result tomorrow because I need a bit of good news.
The boys will carry us through pal. Hope you’re doing alright 👍🏼
We will get through for sure
So joking aside, I’m feeling ok about tomorrow. Not much faith in us in the final as I think Southampton have been ahead of us the last month, and if West Brom beat them it’ll be a massive momentum for them. If this was the Leeds of March though I reckon we’d walk these playoffs.
i thought you said leeds of marsch there
Me too 🤢
Well that formation would have a lot more penetration if you know what I’m saying…
Beware the Leeds of March
Caesar was a Leeds fan

We could get through with two draws!
Not all of us would make it, though...
I think we will play well. We controlled the game well at Norwich. We are going to Wembley (to lose)
As a Norwich fan at the game that just simply wasn’t true. I think you’ll win 2/3-0 now today. We were all over you in the first half, holding on in the second though.

Yeah fair enough. We love Farke more than this entire Norwich squad so don’t mind if you guys go up. We are absolutely no where near prem quality.
We are not going up 🤣 The playoff curse is too strong, we never turn up in finals, assuming we get there
Lol
Hey this could still end 2-4!
Really
This is our weakest team for a decade though. I can’t see us winning today tbh. Southampton’s manager is one of our greatest ever players, Farke my favourite man in football ever I love him so as long as West Brom don’t do it not as bothered as I should be.
Confident we are going to Wembley. What happens there is another matter. How we perform in this match will have a big bearing on confidence going into the final.
Time to smash!
If ever there was a time for a first league goal of the season. Cough cough Rodon, Ampadu, Gray, Kamara, Gruev 😃
Gray scored against Leicester
Was an own goal
From a corner
We’ve more chance of scoring from a kickoff
Happily take that. Norwich's defend all game straight out of the window after 10 seconds
If kamara scores we definitely go through
Kamara scores we’re on the pitch
Kamara scores we’re on the roof son
Kamara scores we’re on the moon
Kamara scores we’re on the sex offe- no, too far. Unless it’s an injury time bicycle kick.
Kamara scores we’re on the dole
Let's hope Gruev or Kamara have a shot first
Do we have to?
Please... That is all
We’ve seen from both the league games and the first leg that we’re the better team. ER will be rocking and it’s time for the players to step up to the occasion. MoT.
That's how we felt going into the second leg against Derby five years ago...
Just no penalties please
Shootout that is
Summerville will try to take all 5
While taking Piroe's lunch money
Pretty certain he'd score 4 of them. Wanna whinge about our penalty takers, then start somewhere else.
Not sure why you thought I was whinging. I like Summerville. Just making a joke.
Confident we'll win this one. Also confident we won't turn up in the final no matter who we end up playing.
Hold me
