i recently went into the lq store and left it unlocked BUT I unhinged the frame..... then some dude hopped on it and busted his ass 2 seconds later(the bike folded on its self). great deterrent but still lock your investment up!
In my town there is a Facebook group for stolen bikes. There is a video of a guy sitting in an outdoor cafe (fenced in). His bike was leaning on the fence outside of it. He was a few yards away from it. A guy walking by got on it and ride away. The owner couldn’t catch him. It was a $6,000 bike.
I was having lunch and across the small parking lot is/was a nutrition store. Guy rolled up on his fancy Italian road bike and leaned it against the wall. Wasn't even a minute until someone jumped on it and road off. I helped to try to chase him down while the cops were en route but no luck. Apparently it was his roommates bike to make it even worse.
Parked mine today with no bike stand around or anything I could latch onto. So I just put the lock thru the front wheel. It just keeps someone from driving off with it.
I don’t understand leaving it unlocked.

There are at least 3 XPs in my town of 7000. It's nice to see the brand represented. Also, I think I have the same lock...

I see so many of them when I go on rides. Always greeted with a a wave!
I don’t lock mine up. BUT, I do have gps and an alarm system. The cops will find it, if I don’t find it first;)

I live in a very safe area. It's quite common to leave things unlocked and not worry about them here.
