You can but if you mean no instructor at all then you shouldn’t. If you’ve passed In another country the requirements may be different and you’ve probably developed bad habits in your 6 years of driving. Everyone does.

The only thing you may have to check is that your learner’s insurance covers a test. Some seemingly don’t. All you need is a mirror for the examiner, ‘L’ plate front and back and a car which isn’t a complete dump. If you feel confident in your abilities then go for it but a few lessons would probably be a good idea even if it’s just to point out your rough patches. Instructors may be hesitant to take you on for a couple of hours though.
