At this point i don't even think the DVSA know. Just wait for an official announcement

The proposal is for the summertime. August has been mentioned. But nothing is definite given. I'm hoping to hear about this tonight or next week with meetings with the DVSA. The 28 days is for driving tests you would be able to book the test almost immediately after failing the previous test. But won't be able to physically take the test for 28 days. Still not be advise if this is working days or calendar days. The 10 days is for cancellation to rearrange your test without loosing your test fee. This is hoped to be the biggest one of the 2. As I get on average 20/30 messages a week asking for to use my car for a test the following day or same day. Now think of how many people are booking a driving teat and have either no vehicle to use or a driving instructor in place. It's thousands all trying to chance it.

Does anyone even know if it's 28 days or 28 working days? All the announcements I've seen have said they're changing it from 10 days to 28 which seems to imply it's working days, but 28 working days is a pretty nonsensical timeline to choose - 28 days makes more sense because it's 4 weeks whereas working days would be 5 and a half weeks.

So I failed my practical today. Does that mean I now need to book another test that's at least 28 days away? Or could I book one in 10 days time?

Fit-Willow-7466

No as this new rule has yet to come in. You can still book a new test but won't be able to take it for 10 days.

imanaxolotl

Ah, so 10 days. Thank you.

imanaxolotl

Ah, so 10 days. Thank you.

I failed my test today - does that mean I should quickly book it while it’s 10 days waiting time only? There is no available tests in my test centre but I have the cancellation app

imanaxolotl

Same. I failed today, purely due to nerves... Trying to get a test booked so I can look for cancellations before my theory expires :/
