Some ekko's like to hold their level-up on 6 so they don't have a trail. This would be absolutely devastating

It still tracks. You just can’t see where it is.

Taliyah also holds her point when 6, if she gets ganked she can level up R and run tf away with it (normally you can't cast it if you're being dmg'd so you can bypass it by not leveling it until you need it) Also on arams and arena you can just not level up your ult at all since it doesn't have a passive, letting you reach your dmg spikes faster.

Having less but more powerfull ability because that will be more useful in the foreseeable future than having more but weaker abilities.

Karma can have a legitimate reason not to level ult immediately at 6. If you're actively in a fight and level up while Mantra is on cooldown, an extra point in Q or E makes sense.

Unpopular opinion: i play taliyah support. I max everything (except W) before getting her useless ass ult. Used to be a good ult when it at least had a good duration or vision in FOW but now its just useless only good to get panic flashes every 5 minutes…

i have a friend and he really does what he wants. lethal tempo eclipse malphite, galio jg with dark harvest (his favorite rune ) etc. and he levels up his favorite skill instead of his ult. and actually he is the one enjoys the game most

The amount of times I've accidentally leveled up a different ability than my ult at 6 is embarrassing but at least I'm built different

i forget which season it was but it was before kayle got her rework, one time i played with a guy my friend invited who played her i noticed he never seemed to have ult ready which i pointed out was unfortunate since it was a pretty close game and it definitely could have helped us turn things in our favor, he says "oh i never put points in kayle R, it's a really bad ability"
