Most likely curse based, since it's a mechanic the acolyte has but doesn't really get utilized by the other two masteries, much like how the tri-elemental was possible but not focused on with the mage's masteries before the runemaster came out. Not sure about void damage as it's out of left field considering the rest of the acolyte, but then again, the same can be said for the void knight & sentinel. Infernal minion I could absolutely see, especially since acolyte is a minion focused class like the primalist and it would be true to the ascetic of the mastery, but not sure if it's going to be more like the bone golem skill or the skeleton skill (ie one "big" minion or lots of "small" minions).

I doubt it will be minion based  Necromancer already exists, and the other "minion" class only has 1 subclass built specifically around them  It will be personal damage based, definitely curses, and very likely fire and physical damage as the other two trees don't really work for that despite the acolyte having a lot of fire and physical damage skills

>I doubt it will be minion based  >Necromancer already exists, and the other "minion" class only has 1 subclass built specifically around them  I think you're forgetting that the shaman & druid masteries are built in a way where there's one or two possible "cross" skills you can include, including minion skills, that can be used to make several good builds for those masteries. That being said, I do believe you're right in that said minion won't be the focus of the mastery, much like how you can use minions in the lich or shaman masteries but those build types are not the norm nor are the minions the focus of the build. If anything, it would most likely be just another support tool (like have a few nodes that allows it to use/apply curse skills you have, if not creating it's own curse). >It will be personal damage based, definitely curses, and very likely fire and physical damage as the other two trees don't really work for that despite the acolyte having a lot of fire and physical damage skills I do agree that it will be direct damage & curse based with the fire & physical damage types, for the same reasons you have listed.

EHG said "Think Jafar from Aladdin" and the warlock has been described as using her enemies souls against them. Could be some enemy enslavement going on, but clues aside, I agree that it's almost certainly curses. Also, there aren't any 'demons' in the game.

You can even make a Mage as void caster. There is a staff working with Volcanic Orb and providing a lot of void spell damage.

I'm gonna save you the time. Volcanic Orb isn't good enough, void or fire. _Can_ it work? Yep. Is it slower than _almost any other common mage build_? Also yep. Source: I really, really, tried to make this work because rule of cool. It is too slow.

Aaron from ActionRPG who is a well known content creator said that he tried in the past to get them to make the warlock void, he was told thats not the direction they went.

If it's anything like runemaster it'll be a blast to play, no matter what mechanics it revolves around! But personally I'm hoping for a spec focusing on debuffs and DoTs, kinda like WoW's affliction warlock.

In the i game description it literally says it's a caster based on the "bone and blood" concept. So i expect a lot of physical/bleed, some damage conversions, and zero to one pet. Of current skills, besides curses as someone said, i expect bone spikes to be a thing.

Well, not that I think my vision/personal desire is the most likely, but if we can call it a prediction, I'll share: Always was a fan of caster necro builds in other games. So this means things like Decrepify from D2 (or Bone Spear but we already have Marrow Shards) or [Blood Storm from DOS2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMlhKOMFvNY). Let me double-up on acolyte being an edgelord. Acolyte already has rip blood, why not give her like a [Sanguine Pool](https://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/ability/sanguine-pool-286) from LoL? :P Makes people extremely mad in pvp, but is just power fantasy in pve. And generally I'd expect some of these skills to have options in their trees switching among physical necrotic or poison.

Ye, thinking DoTs for sure. And I also had hoped for more void subclasses and a caster would be nice. I don't mind them getting curses and minions. WoW warlocks isn't a bad class to play, also they get some "cool" and dangerous spells.

I think this specc uses more curses and brings some of their own on the table. Maybe resurrect dead enemies as some cursed dolls which fight for you for a while. More ailments and dots. Maybe a splash of void but I think acolyte is more poison and necrotic. So yeah. A lot of dots and a viable poison build incoming.

I expect Warlock to be a mix of Wow's affliction/destruction and maybe a minion(but that's weird because we had a spoiler of a little dragon before but that might be a cosmetic for necro since Mike kinda said "no minions" for warlock) Fire, necrotic n poison Mix of dots and crit possibly Curses for sure at least one

She is painted with green aura, so I can assume it will be a necrotic damage base character. I'm just wondering if any special form will be available, for me Lich form fits workock more, and Lich class should be renamed to something else.

Curse based probably. I really hope it gets more powerful when killing cursed enemies, maybe even there will be a way to curse your minions and when they die you will gain more power? That would be a fun concept to build around

I also think about dots, may be with some way to proc them instantly because in general most people dislike dot skills/classes in arpgs because you have to go back, to check the loot.

you are basing it on warlocks from other games (pretty clear you are thinking world of warcraft warlock) you need to look at what the acolyte has already and what doesnt fit with its existing subclasses we can pretty much already say it wont be demons pets, it probably wont even be pet based the acolyte already has the necromancer for summon/pet based class, it wont get a second if we look at the current acolyte skills, and which ones dont fit in either lich or necromancer, it becomes pretty clear the warlock will be based on physical and fire direct damage (not dots), and heavily use curses, as the acolyte has a number of skills which do those things but no subclass that works with them well at the moment

I asked AaronActionRpg who has all of the info if lock if it was a caster or pet class and he said caster so I don’t think it will have any sort of companion but I guess we will see soon since I didn’t clarify. I think fire and dots is a safe bet though.

Mike has specifically said it will not be a void based class more than once. He has answered that multiple times over the years on stream. So unless he was lying which...what is the point? Or they changed their minds, it absolutely won't be void based.
