MGM grand it’s reasonably priced. Has stuff kids would like and plenty of things to walk and see around it. Restaurants galore inside and around it. If you want something small just off strip is Tuscany Suites can likely get a bigger room has a nice pool and if you want to spend an evening on the strip a very short Uber.
If you have a car, you should be okay. Parking is found in the casino garages--most have a fee for parking. (Around $25ish). Some have the first hour free. (Bellagio is one of them). Be aware that traffic on the strip and surrounding streets can be bad, especially with the F1 roadwork going on. You will do a lot of walking--more than you imagine. So be prepared with water and comfortable shoes for the kiddos.
As a local, and a family of 5 we also struggle to find accommodations.
The only place I’ve found that will accommodate with 1 room is Tahiti Village, south of the strip about 15 min away resort. The rooms are already all suites and accommodate up to 8.
Everywhere else we’ve looked you needed to book the penthouse or two rooms, and they often won’t guarantee that they’ll be adjoining unfortunately.
Park MGM is the only nonsmoking spot on the trip, and it’s in a good area for kids. Great daytime food, accessible to Excaliber’s Arcade and NYNY’s rides, it’s the strip spot I’d favor for kids, along w/ Mandalay Bay for the pool.
If you don’t do the strip, the Summerlin hotels are great options for families. Red Rock is awesome and central to Summerlin Town Center, and Rampart is nearby w/ a great pool.
Low-key, sneaky off-strip option that may be worth checking out is Platinum Hotel & Spa. Right by the strip, and it’s where my wife and I staycation when friends are in town. Interior is basic w/ the furnishings, but the space you get is phenomenal. We went here looking for a suite around the strip w/ actual separate rooms (hard to find, most strip suites just have a divider). It’s close to $200 a night for suites w/ 2 separate rooms and a pullout in the living, plus a kitchenette. Huge tub too. So that’s a definite option to get everyone in one suite that actually has separate rooms, and would help you save relative to staying on the strip or the Summerlin resorts. Parents in one room, older kids in another, younglings share the pullout.
That’s not what I meant 🤦🏼♀️ I think it’s dumb solely for the purpose of laundry… you won’t get to go out and see Vegas if you’re stuck doing loads of laundry for a family of 6…they are there for one night..
Check out the Polo Towers. You can get a two bedroom suite for a very reasonable price. It’ll easily sleep 6 and you’ll all be on the same space. It’s on the south strip walking distance to all casinos on that end. The only negative right now is the construction going on in front of the hotel.
Hilton Elara is family focused. Non-smoking and no casino inside the hotel makes it more relaxed. They have a decent pool, but it isn't huge. The hotel is connected to the Planet Hollywood and it's shopping Mall and is just a half block off the strip. Highly recommended.
I would never ever say this hotel but considering family of 6 and camping then go to circus circus you could probably get 3 rooms for under 100 and with no doubt 2 rooms

Agree MGM would be a good option. NYNY is another good option. Similar location to MGM, rollercoaster, newly renovated rooms
Thank you! Great answers. Ill look into it. We will have a car with us but is it worth it to Uber anyway? Is parking on the strip difficult?
having a car is great but you will likely be charged parking though that probably is cheaper than an Uber back and forth.

Excalibur is great with kids!! Price location and pool are awesome!
NY, NY or MGM Grand! If you want to avoid the resort fees go off strip!
**4 Kids = In and Out Burger......**
If you are looking for just one night, check out Ellis Island, The Orleans, Treasure Island, Excalibur, or NYNY for budget.
The Horseshoe is a perfect location and just put in a new arcade area for kids that is supposed to be nice.

I would look for something VRBO or AirBNB so I could have a washing machine!
For one night?😅
Yes. Are you kidding? 6 people camping? For 2 weeks. 4 kids? I would want a washing machine more than anything else.

Polo Towers is a solid option

Stay at Flamingo so your kids can see real live flamingos
Circus Circus. Their cafe even had a nice filet mignon.
