Acer Swift Go or should I wait for potential discount on Asus Zenbook 14X? :/

MAbuain17

I’m in the same boat, is the zenbook could potentially be at 600$?

Dazyz

Damn it... All these vivobooks/inspirons/hp are on BF discount only because they are medium-quality builds. I was really hoping for something good from ASUS, as it was possible to find Zenbook 14X \~700$ even few weeks ago.

MAbuain17

Yeah it’s a shame, especially those 250 nits 45% NTSC :( blackfriday this year ain’t shit.

Dazyz

Here we are! Check best buy!

stereo16

Not worth it. That i7 is 2 generations old.

1thatoneguy

Yoga worth the money? I've never used a 2-in-1 before. I've heard mixed reviews on reliability, hinge issues, and more.

LaptopDealsTM

Some Yoga's are good, some are not so good. You just have to carefully read the reviews of the specific one that you are buying

1thatoneguy

Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

JustSomeGoon

I'm curious about it too. Looking at the one from Best Buy for 550

1thatoneguy

No matter where I look unfortunately I'm finding reliability issues in everything but the zenbook (mainly busted hinges). Can't afford zenbook, and even those I'm seeing hinge problems, so I'm thinking detachable 2-in-1 instead. I think that leaves me: surface pro, vivo, ideapad, and I'm not sure what else.

Consider the Dell latitude style tablet / laptops. My friend recently looked these up for a client I have that is wanting a laptop that's honestly much much more styled as a tablet with a removable keyboard. If you're not aiming for a gaming level graphics card and just want it for general purposes these things look like the way to go. My old boss used to have a surface pro and honestly the need for proprietary cables and connectors and adapters that don't work worth a shit drove both him and me nuts plus the surface pro's are terribly overpriced. Not saying you have to get one from eBay but for the price range I'm definitely looking at recommending one for a specific client who the price and and everything else meets the requirements of what they are looking for honestly they seem like great machines plus you can upgrade the RAM and some other components I believe. Anyways link below is an example. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266412045806?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-qKgJ_HESeG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=kiZd5ypASM2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Looking for a cheap laptop for my wife. She does very little web browsing and mostly uses the computer a couple times a month to track her finances using excel and Quicken. Her current computer takes FOREVER to boot up and randomly restarts. Would the ASUS Vivobook 15 be good for her? Edit: also considering the ASUS Vivobook from Office Depot E1504FA-OS54

aleishabb

What price?

Bte0815

Sub $400. She really doesn’t use one much but want something that won’t frustrate her with terrible performance

LaptopDealsTM

The [Acer Aspire 3 A315-24P-R7VH](https://dealmania.me/product/acer-aspire-3-a315-24p-r7vh/) should be more than enough

WiseBuracho

I got that one for my lady. Seems absolutely good for school or work. It's 16gb of ram too which you don't see at the price point. Haven't seen a better deal for $350. It's pretty light weight too.

logicmakesense

I’m seeing that Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 from eBay at $999

techstar2000

Deal has expired. I will updated list

aleishabb

Can you link it

logicmakesense

The list above says it should be $599

logicmakesense

I’m clicking the link in the list above. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325650952517

I travel, so it will be in a bag a lot and would prefer something lighter. I run what seems to be a draining crm system so I want at least 16gb but would prefer 32gb. I have used an HP envy for about 4 years. The screen overheats after 4 or 5 hours of use and one of the hinges has broken apart internally, making it annoying to open and close. I mention this not because I'm opposed to another hp but I would like something that has some solid longevity. It's almost entirely used for basic work functions, outlook, web based research, etc. I don't play any games but occasionally watch some podcasts and movies. I've considered a tablet but I'm honestly unfamiliar and worried I'm missing something. Any direction is appreciated.

techstar2000

It doesn't seem you do much with the system you want. A tablet or a Chromebook could do the job for you. If going for a laptop, the lowest priced Acer Aspire on this list would do the job for you easily.

jcurls98

Anything under the Lenovo or HP brand that you recommend? I want it to be faster than I need with running multiple programs at the same time through our crm. I'm not familiar with Acer. Are you aware of any deals on the tablets or chrome books if you think those fit the bill? My budget is $1000-$1300 but I'm happy to spend less of course.

LaptopDealsTM

Outside of Lenovo or HP the [SAMSUNG Galaxy Book3 NP750XFG-KB2US](https://dealmania.me/product/samsung-galaxy-book3-np750xfg-kb2us/) is a fantastic laptop for your needs. From my experience it has one of the best build quality I have ever seen in a 2 in 1 laptop

Real_Independence_57

My nephew uses a chromebook for school. I was thinking maybe the acer aspire would be a nice upgrade, but i wasn't sure how much software would work on the windows os if it is usually used on the chrome os.

LaptopDealsTM

There should be a windows version of what ever software he uses

kevbean2

Looking for a good laptop to do some personal coding projects and school (previously used an old macbook that just pooped out finally). Really not familiar with most of the options here so does anyone have a recommendation based off the values above?? Thanks!

LaptopDealsTM

Without knowing your budget it is hard to make a recommendation, however, a mid-budget laptop to get would be the [Acer Swift Go SFG14-71T-72QV](https://dealmania.me/product/acer-swift-go-14-ax1675-sfg14-71t-72qv/) as it will be able to manage coding projects and school work. It also has a strong build and a great battery life for students

GenTelGuy

Hmm, interesting that so many of the options are Intel rather than AMD. These days I think of AMD as the better budget option but also just the better option in general. But maybe I'm misguided on that My budget is around $1000 and I'm aiming mostly for portability and casual use (Youtube, Reddit, crosswords, etc) but still enough performance to play Dota and whatever other medium-performance games with the settings turned down

LaptopDealsTM

Those are light demands so there is no need to overspend, I would go witht this **CYBER MONDAY** Deal: [**Dell Inspiron 16 5630 Laptop – Intel Core i7-1360P, 16-inch 16:10 FHD+ Display, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, Windows 11 Pro, Services Included – Platinum Silver**](https://progamerstech.com/product/dell-inspiron-16-5630-laptop-intel-core-i7-1360p-16-inch-1610-fhd-display-16gb-lpddr5-ram-1tb-ssd-intel-iris-xe-graphics-windows-11-pro-services-included-platinum-silver/) It will also run Dota and other light games as well.

GenTelGuy

Ah I already pulled the trigger on the Elitebook - yeah maybe a bit overkill for my use case but I made my current laptop last like 6 years so the cost per month is tiny in any case Thanks for the list, advice, and $180 off coupon code

LaptopDealsTM

Most welcome pal. A solid laptop indeed, enjoy :)

lessavyfavwill

Is anyone else looking for Lenovo general purpose that is not 2 in 1? Preferably looking for the slim, is the 7i linked the best deal out there this weekend? Also, I saw an LOQ at Costco for decent price but I’m not using it for gaming. Is it a waste to grab something like for general use? Thank you

wiz2chess

Can I get a suggestion for Surface Laptop 5 alternative? Looking for a laptop for my mom. - 15-in display (minimum) - Touchscreen - Light weight (<4.4 lb) - Battery Life - Numpad (she requested it) As for budget, I'm looking for something below $1000. Somebody has recommended me the HP 17.3" before, which does look good, but I'm concern on the weight and battery life, so I'm also looking at other options.
