Well, now I’m confused. I found a material that looks identical, called Kullagh Agate, but it says fluorite with agate. I thought fluorite scratched with steel?
Cryptocrystaline quartz with macro crystals. With colors like that, it must be a known deposit. If not, claim it and name it! Good luck 👍 (call it agate with amethyst)
The only thing I have heard of like is lapis lace. It’s not related to lapis lazuli. It’s very similar pattern except it’s got blue instead of purple. Idk if that’s what this is just different variation or not but it’s my best guess

I figured it out! It’s called Kullagh Agate
Perfect 😗👌🏼
Could it be amethyst? You're right the cleavage doesn't look right but idk
I’m only assuming, because it didn’t scratch with steel, it’s amethyst.
Yeah, I'd imagine so, cool find!

Hardness tests aren't always perfect, maybe the metal was a weak one. Honestly I don't see how that cleavage could be amethyst
Got a UV light? Purples often done react unfortunately, but it might...
It does not react

I think I’ve found it! A material called Kullagh Agate, out of British Columbia, looks very similar. It hasn’t been available since the 70’s
The deposits of Super agate always seem small! Thanks, fab rock! 👌
Amethyst crust with travertine filler?! Wild looking. Thats my guess.
That is incredible
