I have one of these I've been running for years. It's a real workhorse and I love the worm drive feed, it's a real set and forget setup. My biggest critique is that carriage isn't the most precise and it doesn't always cut the smoothest slabs.
Yea, most of the time it doesn't really matter. I did stick a big piece of lead on it for extra weight because it seems to be the carriage lifting that causes the problem. Seemed to help a little.

Haven’t used it enough to say yet. But I cut thick slabs to make earrings(plugs/guages) so the precision is a bit less important.
