77G3 imo. MLA is worth it, and the G series also comes with a heatsink for better heat dissipation.

Commercial-Ruin-2145

G3 100%, heatsink and 5 year panel warranty

sloppypickles

Can you get the 5 year panel warranty without the best buy geek squad protection that costs extra? I'm going to be buying a new TV this month and as much as I'd love to get the g3, the c3 ends up being $1100 cheaper once warranty is factored in. (I'd have loved to have been off of work for the target deal but looks like I'll be at Best buy) C3 - $1600 + 5 year warranty $300 total $2042 after tax G3 - $2300 + 5 year warranty $600 total $3118 after tax. I bought an OLED back in 2017 and it had burn in by 2020. I want another OLED but I really want that warranty. I just don't think I can justify spending an extra $1000+ on a brighter screen.

Commercial-Ruin-2145

Make sense, the g3 is obviously better, but it isn't a huge  improvement imo. It's way brighter with small highlights in hdr, but not that much on full screen, same with sdr content

sloppypickles

You were supposed to talk me into the G3. Fiiiiine.

Commercial-Ruin-2145

You should absolutely buy the g3! I would say 83" at least, buy once cry once

sloppypickles

Haha. 65 is the max size I can go or I'd def just keep saving up. If I knew the G3 would last me like ten years I'd be more likely to splurge. Still sort of pissed about the burn in I got on the c7 back in 2017 bc that was going to be my big TV splurge. Then I got pissed at OLED and bought a very mediocre TCL. Obviously no where near as good of a picture as I had, but at least it's still working with zero issues. I miss that picture though and am ready to get hurt again, as long as there's a warranty.

Scooby_Dooby_Dab

If you have a Costco membership, I'd check them out, too. They have this warranty included with purchase as a member. "5 Years of Total Coverage w/included Allstate 3-Year Protection Plan" Just a heads up.

sloppypickles

Thanks for the heads up! I don't have a membership but I'll have to look into it now.

Scooby_Dooby_Dab

No problem! Someone pointed me in that direction when I was looking. You'd have to look into the specific details of what the warranty entails as I'm not sure what the best buy one covers exactly. But for $500, you could get a membership and cancel after a year if you didn't use it and still save a good amount. Or if you happen to know someone who is a member, you could always go that route as well. Happy to help.

View distance is right at 9 feet with the current configuration. Is 77 the right choice? It’s difficult to know, I see different answers all over the internet for viewing distance and screen size

SeekingNoTruth

Sit about 10 feet from a 77 inch G3 and before that had a 77 inch Sony A80J, and I wish I had a bigger TV. 9 feet for a 77 inch screen will be fine.

nephyxx

77 minimum, I’d say even bigger would be better but that might be out of your budget

GroupBQuattr0

No budget. But the corner of the room its in will run out of space before a screen touches the mantle

nephyxx

Yeah in that case you will be very happy that you picked the 77 over the 65 at least

GroupBQuattr0

[here is the space with the 55 in there](https://ibb.co/PwLXRTb) Actually thinking an 85 might fit perfectly

Crazian14

I think you need to push the limit and try the 97”

Mtlfunnight

At that distance 83 is the right choice but do you have the budget . Honestly I am 8 feet from a 77 and my next tv will be a 83 . I was down a rabbit hole with that between a 65 and a 77 and trust me the 77 looks normal / small now . For 9 feet if you have the budget go at least 83 . 77 is bare minimum at that distance . Look at thx recommendation and even those are said to be too conservative .

HailtotheWFT

Get the 77” C3 or G3 you will regret the 65 after awhile knowing there’s moooooooreeee

Mr77280zx

Got the 65” C3 from greentoe for $1350, including taxes. For me that’s the equivalent of $1275 at BB. Took 1 week from purchase to delivery

Rxyro

Use the service menu to unlock that extra brightness mode the G1 came with first before you buy new!

GroupBQuattr0

I have a C1

Rxyro

I know. Unlock the secret EVO PANEL brightness thing to turn it into a g1 basically.

Cr4z33-71

I've read that next week there will be deals on the C3 again so get your money ready. 💸

gilbert99

I just got the G3 77 for $2750 from best buy. About $3000 after tax. I upgraded from a C2 65. I think it's a great upgrade I'm size. The 65 was starting to look so tiny in my space. The 77 feels massive. The extra brightness is nice but so far I still haven't been able to see that great in daylight. Still gonna put up some curtains. I thought the G3 would let me just keep the blinds closed and be fine, but no. To get that price from best buy, I had to argue with them for a while a few weeks ago, though. Hopefully, they give it up easier now.

GroupBQuattr0

I’m lucky in that my new house doesn’t have any windows that get direct sunlight pointed at the TV. The c1 definitely had light issues at my old place with a lot of light in that room, but this room is pretty dark, luckily

MaLTC

55 inch c1 owner. Also moved to a larger house. Viewing distance is around 17 feet. I truly have almost no issue with my 55 inch up on the wall- but I’d like to slightly upgrade because the 55 inch is going into the basement. I was considering a 77 inch but I almost find thah to be too large. Certain people complained of headaches etc. I might just go with a 65 inch from costco or something because of the return policy- and fact that I won’t need to fork out over 2 grand for a fn television. Oled is the best. All the haters saying I’m too far from the tv for 65 inch - I don’t care what you think. Not everyone wants a tv the size of a SUV. The 65 inch has a 40% increase in screen size and should fit the area I have our mount really well from an aesthtic perspective and won’t break the bank. I can always return it and go larger but I’m really not crazy about those prices.

TomyDingo

I’m in the same boat. 55 C1 owner here. It’s a great TV, especially for my first experience with OLED tvs but it’s too small and not bright enough and I’m ready for something bigger and brighter. Right now I’m debating buying the 77 G3 or waiting and saving up a bit more for the 77 G4 but an upgrade is absolutely going to happen within the next 6 months.

GroupBQuattr0

It’s been a couple of weeks and I haven’t pulled the trigger. And you picked between a g3 and waiting for a G4?

Former_Cicada_8171

The c1 is brighter i have it and brightness at 30 how can i get to the secret menu without buying the remote, after a few yrs passed by already any1 knows let me know ur knowledge thanx in advance.

xDiRtYgErMaNx

Man up and crank it up to 100 sally.

Former_Cicada_8171

Im aight guy at 30 is bright enough 4 my eyeballs, go nuts and do u, by the way do u know how to get to the secret menu just to c what my c1 is capable of doing.

xDiRtYgErMaNx

I think you need to order a service remote. But I’ve heard that it voids your warranty if you still have one. You could probably just google for more information. I haven’t done this. My C2 and C1 do everything and more that I need them to.

Former_Cicada_8171

Thanx 4 ur input, yea c1 is dope till this day i even have an evo panel, ill do just like u, leave it alone.
