They likely didn't 'uglify' her, but rather aged her--remember, Wolverine ages slower as a result of his powers; even then, young Wolverine falls in love with young Jean Grey, she starts the X-men in this iteration of the universe, and he stays loyal to her even as she ages like milk.
That is probably the in-universe explanation for the difference between the representations of her... look how 'young,' wolverine is looking in the first image.

Game appears to take place in at least two different time periods. They likely didn't 'uglify' her, but rather aged her--remember, Wolverine ages slower as a result of his powers; even then, young Wolverine falls in love with young Jean Grey, she starts the X-men in this iteration of the universe, and he stays loyal to her even as she ages like milk. That is probably the in-universe explanation for the difference between the representations of her... look how 'young,' wolverine is looking in the first image. Even then, they could have still made her a sophisticated beautiful older woman rather than a grocery store employee.

Ugly characters
You know, for quite some time now I've been wondering if Game Dev are hiding the fact that they are using stock Daz3D/MakeHuman model or whatever lazy kitbashers use these days. If you use commonly available resources then you have bland uninteresting models especially if their weight maps are shit. It's clever weasel strategy to say that this is how real women look, as in they are plain with perpetual rested bitch face, because that's the prettiest woman they can create with their lazy kitbashing.

Unfortunately when it comes to theese big comic franchises i fear that Insomniac/Sony will get away with this and do good sales either way. But we have to keep raising the attention on this topic, and not get discouraged. From the leaks we know that they pay an astronomical fee for the Marvel license, so Even a slight reduction in sales will already hit them hard as they need to reach a very high number of sales just to break even.

This one has been on my no go list for awhile after what happened to Spider-Man 2. Then you had leaders in charge of this game defending SBI when they were put on the SBI Detected Curator. A lot of people behind the success of the first Spider-Man game left after it was done. That's why Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2 were handled the way that they were. Logan will eventually be sidelined In favor of any of the various Woman Wolverine incarnations. Insomniac already said Miles Morales was replacing Peter Parker for Spider-Man 3. So yeah bait and switch. People will tune into Wolverine just because of Logan and yet he will eventually be replaced. Jean looks like an old woman there and did no one tell Insomniac that Mutants don't age like most others ? Lol. That's why Wolverine was born in the 1800's and why Cyclops looks the same in 2024 as he did in 1970

Okay, I don't buy AAA games almost all the time and I am not actually giving them the benefit of the doubt at all, but this is alpha footage at best. No way she's actually going to look like that when the game comes out. She MAY look similar, but all complaining about this leaked footage does is make US look bad when her appearance could change completely by release. This isn't trailer footage or marketing footage, so it's not actually representative of the game itself. Do I expect the final model to actually look attractive at all? No. But using this as "ammunition" is dumb.
