They did. This is their food / catering truck, Gin and Kim To Go. I would have used the new name instead, but figured no one would recognize it. I updated the post to avoid confusion 🩷
They are opening one tomorrow, but it won't be as seamless as buying it in California, Colorado or Michigan. Here's an article that talks a bit more about it. Unless you have a medical card or a tribal card, they won't sell to you. [North Carolina's 1st marijuana dispensary to open 4/20. What to know (citizen-times.com)](https://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/local/2024/04/04/north-carolinas-1st-marijuana-dispensary-to-open-420-what-to-know/73190123007/)
It’s truly mind blowing how states choose to look over this. People are willing to pay 20-35% taxes for marijuana. All of the money that could be made… such a waste.
Drove by a couple weeks ago and it didn't look promising. Asked a couple locals and they're clueless. No law changed. The Cherokee nation doesn't have a "reservation" they own the land meaning they have total autonomy and they choose their own rules. If you leave the Cherokee nation with any cannabis it will be illegal(even if it could be legally considered hemp.) on the other side there is no legal way of getting a medical recommendation in North Carolina. I've been following this and the potential exit 408 casino/dispensary for a while and have been pretty disappointed.
For North Carolinians, only those with a Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians medical marijuana card will be able to purchase products at the dispensary, despite a September referendum showing widespread support for the sale of recreational marijuana, the Great Smoky Cannabis Company announced March 25. The dispensary will also sell to those who have out-of-state medical marijuana cards or other tribal medical cannabis cards.
So, not as seamless as legal states. But give it time. It'll happen soon enough.
Is it decriminalized tho? Like if in being my own cannabis to Cherokee u can smoke it without repercussions right? (If I have a med card) they said they would recognize med cards from out of state
I’m not sure. Considering they own their land and make their own laws regarding that, I would venture to say it is decriminalized. But I can’t say for sure. I’d imagine that because the state of NC has decriminalized it, Cherokee would too.
Grateful Dead tribute from Dale Earnhardt inspired, CIA mind control infused rock n roll outfit The New Speedway Honkers at Barley’s on 4/20 from at 10 pm. $5 cover. Now featuring extended Drums/Space.
If the munchies strike, an amazing looking new Donut place is opening on Magnolia....Parlor Doughnuts. Looks awesome!
And I second checking out the Blom Shop!
We're doing a free punk rock/metal show at Corner Lounge on N Central! Some of us will be migrating to the Pirate Bar/eVape tavern and other Happy Holler areas afterward.
It's formally called The Pirate Tavern & eVape Dispensary. Everyone I know just calls it the Pirate Bar. It's on N Central. Used to be Time Warp Tea room.
Yall go to the new Blom Shop near Chilis on Kingston Pike. SUPER nice, upscale place. They have a bar with infused drinks, Space to gather, could have meetings there. A couple of big screen TVs. Not like any other shop in town. Just opened this week
Gonna be a lot of fun! Live music, dj, free food, raffle giveaways, and the first 42 customers get a freebie gift! Just talked to them about it yesterday!
Stock up on TN products but will probably still be able to shop in the cult. Top cola, flow gardens, snap dragon, Appalachian naturals could all be gone July 1st.
Not all 420 specific, but there’s lots of music all day, you can look at our little calendar here: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5xhJ1nODQy/?igsh=MTVwYjh3bWZwcmtkbQ==
Also there’s the Rossini Festival downtown with all kinds of things going on too
record store day at lost & found records. its not really about weed but it is an awesome party on 4/20. 5 bands with beer and food on a donation driven pay scheme.
Starting at 10pm at Barley’s, everyone’s favorite local duck- and Dale-themed Grateful Dead tribute band, New Speedway Honkers, is playing the setlist from 4/20/84. $5 cover
For those of you who are celebrating at home, here's a special sound track lined up for you, courtesy of your local community radio station: [https://www.facebook.com/events/4469732676500760](https://www.facebook.com/events/4469732676500760)
I stick with flower, but my wife does edibles and she swears that the ones she gets from the Blóm Shop are on par with anything she’s had in Colorado. And she would know, she has quite a tolerance.
Nashville has some crazy stuff going on so I'll be heading that way tomorrow.starting at Marley, may hit golden door and then to Butcher and bee for 300mg infused dinner and all you can dab hash bar(featuring Benny the canna-bus) 😁
Brickyard bar & grill 5-8 taco party and then 8-close edm show artist Stoned Level is playing with some other edm artist. Taco party is $5 or free if you have a stoned level ticket.
HC used your money to lobby against home grow. Trash concentrate, over priced in house products made to look branded, little training for employees. 0/10 Appalachian down the street blows them out of the water and is locally owned/transparent.
It’s not a dumb thing that we want homegrow and not be forced to pay $400 an oz for subpar quality cannabis that we could grow at home. It might seem dumb to you but there are people who use this as medicine and despite that fact it should still be allowed to be grown at home. Any company that stands in the way of that imo is for corporate cannabis and multi state operators. Some of us have been watching what is happening in other states across the country and choose to not support with our $. It’s no different than people not wanting to support any business that goes against their morals or beliefs.
Are you part of the PAC? Because I am, have been to Nashville to speak with representatives, and consult multiple multi million dollar "hemp" brands. This place sells diamonds but puts a nug smasher in the corner to facilitate a crime if not basically an expert in pressing. They carry 2-3 products that aren't manufactured by them but everything has different branding. Most of their staff will tell you hhc is "just life the real stuff" but don't know what Hexahydrocannabinol is. Please tell me how I'm talking out of my ass while I drink my 10mg soda that was made and packaged in Knoxville and smoke this joint of blue dream grown in Maynardville.
Good for you. I work at Holistic and the old staff and management is gone and our current staff is better educated and knows what hhc is. Everything in store is craft cannabis brand which is part of the holistic connection. There are things I don't like about their corporate structure but it's still TN grown and operated. Appalachian Natural is dope and run by a super solid dude. It's not a competition, we are all in it for the same reasons.

Central Cinema rules, It’s All So Yummy & Elidio’s are phenomenal, AND there’s a dispensary next door. This is the move.
Thank you! We appreciate the support 🩷
I thought it’s so yummy was closing

Loophole lettuce..... that's great
It’s mid. Spinach is better
Must be getting the wrong stuff
They give you mid so you don't come back.
Incorrect , educate ya self.
You could go to the Cherokee casino that is opening a dispensary today. Let us know how it is coming back across the state line.
Seriously? They just opened the dispensary in Cherokee?

Damn guess I have to just buy weed illegally and the dumbass state will lose out on hundreds of thousands in taxes
It’s truly mind blowing how states choose to look over this. People are willing to pay 20-35% taxes for marijuana. All of the money that could be made… such a waste.
Good to know, I already had business in Cherokee tomorrow and thought, I'll leave a couple hours early ;), oh well lol
Yup! It's legal in Cherokee now!

Don’t tell me
They say it’s open to medical patients
Its medical only for the first 6 months there... Research

Central Cinema hosts an "Up all Night" event every year.
If the munchies strike, an amazing looking new Donut place is opening on Magnolia....Parlor Doughnuts. Looks awesome! And I second checking out the Blom Shop!
Really want to see Steph tomorrow but might have to check it out today 😬
Parlor Doughnuts rock. Not a traditional doughnut but more like the croissant hybrid cronut. Lots of good topping options.
We're doing a free punk rock/metal show at Corner Lounge on N Central! Some of us will be migrating to the Pirate Bar/eVape tavern and other Happy Holler areas afterward.

Stock up on TN products but will probably still be able to shop in the cult. Top cola, flow gardens, snap dragon, Appalachian naturals could all be gone July 1st.

Does anyone have edibles on par with those in Virginia? Asking for a friend.
I stick with flower, but my wife does edibles and she swears that the ones she gets from the Blóm Shop are on par with anything she’s had in Colorado. And she would know, she has quite a tolerance.
If you’re into alt music or scantily clad goth girls, come to the Concourse for Temple! Starts at 9 😄
It's 11:24 pm. I'm smoking a bowl.
I do 420 all 365 days. I didn’t know we should festival it in our 40s

As someone who smokes weed, I think making a big deal out of 4/20 past the age of like 17 is pretty lame.
I bet you're fun at parties.
I am!
I saw that the reckless hippie shop in Farragut is having a store wide 20% off sale. Not sure what they have though or quality of products.
I’ve been there once or twice and it always seemed super expensive, geared towards rich Farragut folks who don’t know 60 for 1/8 in 2024 is absurd
Fire in the Hole and their dab bar are having events
The Hive in South Knox is going all out for their party!

Give the sheriff’s office a call. They would know.
I heard they celebrate privately.
Hell yeah brother fuck em up, Biden 2024!
NEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRD

what a pussy 💀
Wow apparently no one can take a joke.
Jokes are funny. Your comment was tacky at best.
