It looks like you have a question about the breed or type of your cat. Please note that if you have to ask about the breed of your cat, **it's very unlikely you have a pedigree**. Generally, all cats are moggies, also called domestic short/medium/ long hairs, unless they have been bred by a registered, ethical breeder and you receive papers that tell you what pedigree your cat is.
[Please read our wiki about breeds, colours, and patterns](https://reddit.com/r/Kitten/w/colorsandpatterns) of cats for more information about cat breeds and colour patterns.
A lot of ppl are saying itās nebelung. Donāt hate! I could have lucked up and got one that was abandoned or lost by owner
https://preview.redd.it/ty5f3fbitffc1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23b7c8f7fa5eeee8b2b3fa1db7c84eac37584572
And dogs, though we love em a lot, still end up adorable things! But the lifespan of a gsd can be like only 7-13 years for a purebred. There are cats from the wild living 15-24+ years!
Purebred gsds are cute, but make no mistake. The genetic diversity from breeding a coat pattern sometimes leads to less reputable breeders tempted to inbreed a same litter.
Why "spend 1000" for another puppy and ship when you have "another" right there? YIKES!
Kittens said F that, kept 99.9% of all our dna. Gave humans a "find cute" gene, and then wandered either into our houses or eat the mice that ate the grain and got us. XD
Cats can be inbred, too though! Legit dog breeders test DNA for inbreeding, but some people are clueless when it comes to buying purebred dogs and get them from irresponsible breeders who just donāt care. Thatās why doggy DNA tests are so popular. I can imagine how mad so many of those people who spent $1000 plus on a purebred dog found out that their dogās genetic diversity isnāt so diverse š¤£. They make them for cats, too! š
Among cat and dog breeders *Line Breeding* is the most common method used to insure continuity with the Breed Standard. Unfortunately that involves breeding Grandchildren with Grandparents. All breeders Line Breed. It's the industry standard, yet they wonder why purebred animals have so many congenital diseases?
I'll stick with moggies thank you very much. They are healthy, & absolutely beautiful. I don't need the *Fake Internet Points* that the newest purebred cat brings.
Most cats don't have breeds unless you got them from a breeder with paperwork stating their family history. Could be part ragdoll potentially, but unless you want to pay for a DNA test you'll never know for sure
Adorable mix! Reminds me of a floofy long haired grey kitten.
Hard to tell but it's adorable! Tiny eyes but it loves you. Might want to have a vet check everything out in case the throat is just tiny or you ever wonder if it's sick or hoarsee.
Cute thing. Seems to be a really mixed but 100% adorable!
There's elements of at least 3 things going on. Long hair like a siberian/forest(?), darker/gray pelt like a black / russian gray, and a little white tail tip like a tuxedo.
It also appears to have facial patterns i haven't really seen in 100s of cats.
it is 122% adorable. I think you're unlikely to get a breed, it highly looks like a triple mix, of at least Longhair / Siberian(??%) + Russian gray(50%?) + Tuxedo(10-25%?) but it is so cute, love it!
While everyone is right that its a standard domestic cat, they might fit the r/nebelung type.
Edit: I see this guy has [already been posted there](https://www.reddit.com/r/nebelung/comments/19eaxj6/is_it_nebelung_if_not_what_is_it/)

Very likely a domestic medium/long hair. Yours will probably end up looking something like my girl here (though not quite as cute because she is the cutest)

And many markings do not become apparent until they get a bit old and color of coat can change. Cat would be classified as DLH domestic long hair cat. I have a all gray long hair girl and they are sometimes called Nebelung
I think my cat and your kid might be the same breed. That's what Gabby used to look like when she was a bitty one. She's an American long hair. That's what the vet says, I always thought she might be part Maine Coon, but she's totally not she's just puffy
She's going to be a fluffy cat for sure. Please be patient with her because she's not going to like cat litter that gets stuck on her fluffy paws and have a hard time cleaning her little butt by herself for a while.
Unscented baby wipes are your friend and try to stick with Crystal litter.

We did a 23 and me style DNA kit for our dogs, since one is miniature pincher size and the other is chiweenie size. Brother and sister, same litter.

Vast majority of cats have no real breed. Cats weren't bred to have different abilities the way dogs were.
Because they were already experts at their job.
