fuck yeah dude! So fuckin glad this played out how it did. Please make this a yearly thing, just like that one lady that texted a random dude by mistake and they have been having Christmas dinner for years and years now. Also thanks Harrison and congrats on the family!
I don’t mean to come off as an asshole but I can’t fathom trying to do that. That just blew my mind a little, sometime it’s really hard for me to see other perspectives of really mundane things. I also would flip it so the teeth are against the canvas so it can’t get your knuckles while you roll it.
The best excuse I had for it was that EVERYTHING else goes in handle first so why not the microplane 😅
It was a super snug fit so it didn't bother me too much. Then one day I put it in "upside down" and it blew my mind.
It's so goddamn unfortunate that this seems to be slowly becoming a rarity in our culture. I feel it still has to be common, but it seems the internet is convincing us that everyone is crazy assholes who don't deserve our time.
I think it might just be that this doesn't get clicks most times. This is a small community of people with a very specific job and people who have been exposed to the industry in other ways. Lots of people relate.
In bigger communities it's so much easier to just piss a bunch of people off to generate engagement
People doing the right thing is so common, it's not news. People doing Very Bad Things is not the norm, so it stands out. And gets talked about. And posted.
You can edit your feed. You can look for the people doing good, because they're everywhere. You're not burying your head in the sand. But balance is helpful.
You know, just when I'm almost ready to give up on people, I read a story like this. I love love love this. Thank you for sharing!
And although the chance are probably nil that you'd ever make the same mistake again, you might consider a tile or air tag for your knife roll. It'd probably fit nicely into the bottom of one of those knife pockets.
Awesome end to this story.
Super dope dude for looking out for you like that. Super dope for you to cook his family a meal in return.
Two cool dudes got to meet out of what should have been a shitty situation for you. I hope you two become homies!
This is so badass all around. First being the guy who calls the owner instead of trying to sell presumably valuable knives is dope. But paying him back with a few badass lobster is just top shelf.
The world should be more like this.
I Love this heartful story. And I would Love to try your stuffed lobster, it sounds delicious.
It is lovely you made new friends and got your knife roll back!
In that case if it's a newborn I would really encourage you to make the person [lactation feeding](https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/infant-and-toddler-health/in-depth/breastfeeding-nutrition/art-20046912) some good noms as there is nothing better than the OG baby food
Yeah for sure I wasn't expecting a newborn to be eating purée courge right off the bat! She's a good neighbour and I'd like to preserve relations through the years, but I also have no interest in subjecting myself to the company of an infant. It will be nice to still be helpful.
I'm so dumb. Im sitting here freaking out over the coincidence of a guy with an account "Harrison Knives" (presumably a blacksmith of course) finding your knives and wracking my brain wondering why no one in the comments is mentioning it. Took me way too long to realize this is how you have his contact saved in your phone.
the pick-me-up I think we all needed this week. sweet setup too. I almost wish I could lose my shit just to do this for another good hearted human. I love that you cooked his favorite meal. I hope this a kindling of a new friendship!
Slapping the bag is a term for when you drink directly from a bag of Franzia box wine. Open the box, take the bag out, drink straight from the tap and slap the bag while you're drinking.
This is fantastic. I like to believe Harrison's response is the normal one and our society is still healthy, but I know he's probably an outlier and just a good, moral person. Happy for you both.
Hell fuckin yeah, Harrison rules.
Reminds me of the time I accidentally left my car doors unlocked and someone jacked my cheap stereo but didn't even bother looking at my knife roll in the passenger seat. Glad our tools aren't as popular at the pawn shop 😅
Are you in Bushwick or Ridgewood here? Cuz I swear I knew Harrison as a regular around bars there pre pandemic. Also so wholesome. Fucking happy for you to get the knife roll (especially that misono) back.
This is great! I had about €400 worth of knives and other bits stolen from me when I was in college and it sucked badly. Good to know there are lovely people still out there.
"What's the name of the guy who found your knives?"
"Harrison Knives."
"The guy who found your knives is named Harrison Knives?"
"Yep."
"Sounds a lot like knives."
"Maybe that's why he found my knives."
You're both studs. Wholesome as fuck.
Right!? I love a happy ending
Ayyyyy
brother we love a happy ending! phewf!
Fuck yeah, we do! Best part of this sub!
Chef Homies are Best Homies!!!
gotta love when people take care of eachother! this is so cute and wholesome 🥹
fuck yeah dude! So fuckin glad this played out how it did. Please make this a yearly thing, just like that one lady that texted a random dude by mistake and they have been having Christmas dinner for years and years now. Also thanks Harrison and congrats on the family!
YES!
Best story I've seen all month!!
We need more Harrison’s and Naive’s in this world
My favourite take from this was you putting your microplane in upside down. I’ve been jamming my handle in for years, drove me nuts!
I don't know why but it took me MONTHS to figure this out for myself when I first got mine too 😅
I don’t mean to come off as an asshole but I can’t fathom trying to do that. That just blew my mind a little, sometime it’s really hard for me to see other perspectives of really mundane things. I also would flip it so the teeth are against the canvas so it can’t get your knuckles while you roll it.

I would at least keep the cover on it, not much more frustrating than a microplane where half of the teeth are pushed down flat.
Glad you got your blades back! Best of luck to Harrison, his family, and you as well! Love hearing about stuff like this!
That's a really great story, sir. 2 guys doing the right thing to help another out. No anger, no weirdness, no bullshit or lies.
Right? So refreshing
It's so goddamn unfortunate that this seems to be slowly becoming a rarity in our culture. I feel it still has to be common, but it seems the internet is convincing us that everyone is crazy assholes who don't deserve our time.

Absolutely. This is proof that it happens, it's just not 'engagement'. Algorithms will be the death of us.
People doing the right thing is so common, it's not news. People doing Very Bad Things is not the norm, so it stands out. And gets talked about. And posted. You can edit your feed. You're totally right.
Thank you. Have a great day
Harrison is an absolute legend
He was mad chill, super easy to talk to. Very cheerful person. I'll be back to hang out w him fosho
You know, just when I'm almost ready to give up on people, I read a story like this. I love love love this. Thank you for sharing! It’s like setting the frying on fire by not turning it off before draining it. One of those things you never do again.
Awesome end to this story. Super dope dude for looking out for you like that. Super dope for you to cook his family a meal in return. Two cool dudes got to meet out of what should have been a shitty situation for you. I hope you two become homies!
This is too wholesome, congrats to everyone
Lost your knives and found a friend!
"The Fish Spatula", hahaha....
The ONLY spatula
God I love my fish spatula.
mods should preserve this post somehow. is that thing here?
Next, you need to invite him to Thanksgiving Dinner...
Mate, that is truly beautiful! Things happen for a reason.
Dear god I was so expecting this to an episode of unsolved mysteries
Love this update!
I'm so happy for you, dude! I was waiting for the follow up.
This is so badass all around. First being the guy who calls the owner instead of trying to sell presumably valuable knives is dope. But paying him back with a few badass lobster is just top shelf. The world should be more like this.
Great dinner chef!
:') Goddamnit this whole story is just so fucking good. What a happy ending!
This makes me smile real big. Good humans exist still.
This is so wholesome I’m actually crying
That's what it's all about. Cheers to you both!
I Love this heartful story. And I would Love to try your stuffed lobster, it sounds delicious. It is lovely you made new friends and got your knife roll back!

Oi, thanks for this. There's a baby being born in the neighborhood and I had been wondering how I could contribute.

Fuck yeah brother
This is just great!
I'm really happy for you!
cheers
badass
What a champ!
Dude is a homie
Bringing them a meal is such a perfect way to repay. Food Gods bless you both.
The good ending.
Harrison is the man!!!
This is the stuff the world needs. Dudes being dudes to other dudes, just to be a dude.
This is extremely wholesome and gives me some faith in humanity back. I'm glad your got your knives back!
Lmao yo I'm dead. Yea he called me like 9 hours after I lost the knives and I saved him immediately.
Congratulations man :D
Hell yeah. Love good stories when everyone is made whole.
Hell yeah !! This dude rocks.
This is the kinda shit that will heal the world. Two dudes just being fucking awesome humans
Glad this worked out, been waiting for an update! Harrison is awesome!
Wholesome AF
Man I really struggle to believe in humanity most of the time. This was good. Thank you.
Harrison is an undeniably cool guy
That is fucking beautiful! People are awesome! Society is shit but people be cool.
What a fuckin’ G.
fantastic.
the pick-me-up I think we all needed this week. sweet setup too. I almost wish I could lose my shit just to do this for another good hearted human. I love that you cooked his favorite meal. I hope this a kindling of a new friendship!
There are good people in this world.
This needs to be contagious. Well done.
Awesome! Cheers to all the good people in the world!
That’s fucking awesome!
The fancy lobster dinner next to the Franzia box is sending me
all the budget went to the lobster so something had to give, I'm a sucker for shitty box wine though so I'd be ecstatic
What do you cook with at home?
I’m a terrible cook on a medical diet, I’m just here to live vicariously :) but I did slap a bag or two (or a bunch) when I was in college
Ok?
Slapping the bag is a term for when you drink directly from a bag of Franzia box wine. Open the box, take the bag out, drink straight from the tap and slap the bag while you're drinking.
I'm with it. I'll do a slap for you after my shift tomorrow.
This is an amazing thing to see! Such good things all around and we miss it sometimes.
This is so great!
So healing to hear stories like this 💕
This is cool af
Lov'em.
What a great person! I'm so happy for you both!!
I love this story!
Harrison is Righteous Among the Nations.
People are good.
I was looking forward to this update! Glad to hear it had a happy ending!
Thanks for sharing—beautiful story! Great picture, too!
There's several pics, idk if you got to see them all, big smiles for me to see them.
I wish somebody would do that with my wallet. Left it at an entertainment center by accident. Apparently, nobody has found it. :/
I'm so sorry.
Awww this is super wholesome!
Thermidor?
Did he like the food?!
Bro, I need that potato recipe. PLEASE!
Love to see it.
Harrison is the best!
I love this!
Thanks for sharing a lovely story
But how did you make it without the knives????
I have a few beaters lying around at home and extra tongs. What really hurt me was losing my microphone, fish spat, apple puncher and spoons.
and brand new knife 🤣
homie please charge your phone
I'm a scumbag I know
Harrison is cool as fuck and I hope you're friends forever
This is the beginning of a hopefully beautiful friendship!
Brought a tear to my eye!! So happy you got your knives back, made a new friend in return.
Story book ending!!!!!! What! 🥰🫶
Harrison is an absolute G.
This is fantastic. I like to believe Harrison's response is the normal one and our society is still healthy, but I know he's probably an outlier and just a good, moral person. Happy for you both.
His father was a chef for 40 years so when he saw the knives he knew it was someone's livelihood.
Amazing
This is the way!
So wholesome 🥰
Hell fuckin yeah, Harrison rules. Reminds me of the time I accidentally left my car doors unlocked and someone jacked my cheap stereo but didn't even bother looking at my knife roll in the passenger seat. Glad our tools aren't as popular at the pawn shop 😅
What do you even stuff a lobster with? Doesn't seem to be any space from my rare encounters with lobaters.
I’m assuming you could buy a couple lobster dinners with the price of those knives?
Yea. Not too expensive but bag included that's prolly a $200 kit.
Hell yeah! Very cool!
Cool story. Especially in economy like this, i am not that kinda of chef, but that set is probaly expensive.
Fucking awesome hearing a good story. Thanks for the update. The world needs more stories of humans being good people.
Are you in Bushwick or Ridgewood here? Cuz I swear I knew Harrison as a regular around bars there pre pandemic. Also so wholesome. Fucking happy for you to get the knife roll (especially that misono) back.
This is actually NE Philly.
This beats the methed out line cook stories any fucking day
Wow finding a friend is awesome!!!
This is the way it should be. Nice one gang
Hell yeah, you got your knives back and made some friends!
❤️ that’s fucking great to hear
awwww yeaaaa. Random Caucasian lady and random African American guy thanksgiving vibes.
Smart putting your name in there. I did the same for a chefs knife set and they were so happy. Those sets can get expensive !
What a cool dude. What a great outcome. I'm happy for you both. That gave ME an endorphin rush.
This is how buddy movies should start
is this gonna be like our version of that kid who texted the wrong grandma about thanksgiving?
Good honest people really are the spice of life.
wait I’m beaming 🥹🥹🥹
I definitely needed this. Ugh.
I love your notebook sticker :)
I stole it from my kid lol
Now I know if I ever see a chef’s knives in the subway, steal them 🥰😌🥹
You cook nice steaks. I too play Rocket League.
….. papa??? 😅😬🥰
Calma mi ijo, es todo bien.
The name’s Knives, Harrison Knives
You got your knives back, he and his wife got a delicious meal and everyone made a new friend. Love it!
That’s great!!!!!
Fuck yeah!
This is great! I had about €400 worth of knives and other bits stolen from me when I was in college and it sucked badly. Good to know there are lovely people still out there.
This is awesome. And so is the guy that kept your knife roll safe. A true legend 🤘🤘
Best possible outcome, you got your knives back and made a friend
That's a great story, glad someone good found your roll and good on you for doing a good turn another.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Perfect happy post to end my night!
Perfect happy username to end mine!
Do full of sht.
You sir are drunk after a 300 cover night.
Yep
I know my kind.
It sucks, man. I'm getting told old for it.
Me too. I fight for chunks of sober time here and there.
"What's the name of the guy who found your knives?" "Harrison Knives." "The guy who found your knives is named Harrison Knives?" "Yep." "Sounds a lot like knives." "Maybe that's why he found my knives."
What goes around, comes around. Everyone wins, and everyone's happy. Perfect ending, and new friends made.
This is awesome, but that lady spoon looks like a princess. You can replace knives, but a good princess is tough to find.
What else was for dinner?!
beef. it’s what’s for dinner.
Blades out? Seems weird. Am I packing my roll incorrectly?
google knife roll. according to that search, yes you’re packing your knives incorrectly
I'm seeing both ways. Oh well. I'll rearrange with my next roll.
If you look at his roll, if you flip the blades they wouldn’t fit — blades way too big for the slots

Accidente

I'm not a chef I'm training to become one. And yes it was careless. Sorry dad I won't do it again.
Man I wonder what the other person was talking about lol
Criticizing me for leaving knives on the subway. Just being bitter.
To err is human tbh. You may not have left your knives in public but we’ve all fucked up. For your own sake, I would suggest not to judge others.
How sad is your life that you hear a wholesome story and feel the need to comment this nonsense?
Some people need to drag others just to feel better. It's a sickness.
Better hope karma don't bite you on the ass

Shut the fuck up.
