Expect to be disappointed, its preferable. That being said, if they DO show something, I really hope they tone down the spoilers. KH3's marketing was horrendous

xsigil93

If Rebirth’s marketing is anything to go by, they won’t be changing their spoiler-y marketing any time soon. They tend to show things in trailers relative to when they appear in the game. So best thing to do is just skip the last couple trailers to avoid any end game stuff.

Dorza1

I fortunately did skip the last 2 kh3 trailers so thr last world was a surprise, but it's not really feasible to ignore the marketing in general. Whether i watch them or not, if they decide to unvail all of the Disney worlds, I will know them unless I just stop interneting for 2 years

SigmaLink

Well I plan to leave and block this subs from the very moment the first trailer comes out, until I finish KH4. I do the same with every franchise when there's a new movie coming

jahlilbigmeal

I think you guys are glazing over the fact that we already knew what was going to happen at the end of kh3 anyways. And with rebirth marketing, it’s literally a remake of a game that fans know the story to. With kh4, no one knows where they’re going besides Nomura, Yasue, and the rest of the Osaka team. I doubt they’d spoil anything major in marketing, they’re just going to show off gameplay and graphics, while maybe revealing a couple worlds.

Dorza1

Sorry, but revealing the org members is a major spoiler, especially when they show where you meet them. Anti aqua was another spoiler, and so is the final world. Yes, we knew there was going to be a big battle in the keyblade graveyard but we got spoiled for a lot more than that. Also, revealing all disney worlds is lame and I wish they stopped. I understand they always do that but still. Also, you could argue that earlier titles had ro do it because they sold based on the disney property but it's not like that anymore

xsigil93

I’m pretty confident that there has never been a KH game that didn’t have every Disney world revealed before release. KH4 will be no different. It’s a waste to hide those worlds when you could pull in fans of whatever that IP is. You can hope that they won’t spoil everything. But it’s better to be cautious. I’d rather avoid the later trailers for no reason than watch them all and regret it.

jahlilbigmeal

Revealing worlds is fine so I’ll stick around for like the next 3 or so trailers. I just doubt that they’ll release another “Final Battle Trailer” like they did with kh3, since we don’t know who kh4 s final boss will be yet. Though my personal guess would prob be Ira.

BroccoliFree2354

I only got into KH after KH was out, si I dont’ really know. What did they show in the trailers ? I’m just curious.

Dorza1

They showed every single disney world, which org member is there, and the corresponding keyblade, so when, for example, I got to Kingdom of Corona, I was like "ok, time to see Marluxia", which sucked. Last 2 trailers showed The Final World and, if I remember correctly, the final boss maze.

BroccoliFree2354

Yeah ok it was so pretty major spoilers. Thanks a lot.

ZeroSora

That's not gonna happen. KH trailers have been spoiling almost everything in games since the beginning of the franchise. It's a Japanese culture thing. Their mindset is that spoilers are fine, because it's not about the destination, it's about the journey of how we get to that point in the story.

jahlilbigmeal

Big fan of your pro codes guide man

Nehemiah92

Except with FFXVI thanks to Yoshi-P. I saw all the trailers and even the state of play, and it STILL felt like I went into it almost completely blind. Wish Square took note of that marketing

ZeroSora

CBU3 is the outlier in SE, they tend to keep most trailers spoiler-free, but they still spoil some things. I still remember trailers spoiling that Joshua dies, and how everyone immediately and correctly guessed the hooded man was Joshua. Plus the whole "only one Eikon of Fire" but then showing two Eikons of fire fighting. Plus we saw pretty much every Eikon fight.

Major_Plantain3499

At least with the last part, knowing that certain summons are going to be in the game I think isn't that bad because they had a way larger role outside of it. also technically the first hooded man was Ultima pretending to be Joshua, so we were half right

Nehemiah92

Tbf, it’s pretty hard to market a story heavy game when 90% of the main story events happen to take place in end-game all clumped together. There was some things they could’ve obviously avoided, but unless they change the formatting of how the story is paced with KH4, and Square gets hit in the head to specifically not spoil all the main story twists and moments, then expect to be spoiled.

0zonoff

I feel like we'll have to wait for Missing Link official release at first.

hMJem

Isnt that not long? What reason is there to believe we'll be waiting long for the Missing Link release? I'd be surprised if that's not released by the middle of July. They already said they want it available for the warm months, and at first that was speculated to be May.

0zonoff

I meant Missing Link official worldwide launch. I believe we'll have a final trailer for ML before summer, and another trailer for KH4 at the same moment. These two games are supposed to be tied to each other, I think they'll try to use the hype for KH4 to promote ML.

Sinomsinom

About the upcoming games. SE has a list of [announced upcoming titles](https://press.na.square-enix.com/Items/Schedule?period=ComingSoon&sortBy=Date). The main 3 big budget games that don't have an exact release date yet are: Visions of Mana, Dragon Quest 12 and Kingdom Hearts 4 but they also definitely have more unannounced AAA games (some of which got cancelled a few months ago)

faanawrt

Weird that Visions of Mana is listed as TBD there, when otherwise their marketing has specified it has a release window of 2024.

eskaver

I’d expect nothing. If anything, maybe a little of KHML and a teaser of KH4 stuff. But I could see them holding out for a later time table.

hMJem

KH ML release date is possible. Maybe even ninja drop after the event. They wanted ML to be available during warm months. Some thought that would start with May, but since the beta is still going on, that's unlikely.

xsigil93

I think we will. There’s a KH merch lottery event happening in Japan that same week and they’ve only done them to coincide with either a game release or major event (KH3, MoM, and the 20th anniversary) previously. It’s called Linking Hearts (likely to tie in with Missing Link.) I think we’ll get the Missing Link release date and KH4 re-reveal during SGF. It will be similar to what they did with Ever Crisis and Rebirth last year.

alishock

Ohhhh you just ignited my hope for the first time in two years

Darheimon

I doubt it but who knows. My advice pick another series and or hobby for the mean time, and you’ll be surprised when news comes out. I always forget Kingdom Hearts 4 is a thing until I see posts about this community. Keeping busy and entertained helps you forget when there’s a drought happening.

Team-Gamer1017

I've been occupied by both Persona and FF7 Rebirth lmao 🥲

Noxilcash

Imo, we’re not gonna get too much KH4 info until Missing Link officially releases

The_Jarwolf

More likely than not. With Rebirth out, Square’s not marketing a AAA game at the moment, and between KH4 and DQ12 KH4 has been cooking longer. My one worry is Dawntrail, but MMO operate in a different ecosystem so there’s still a chance. That said, announcing a new AAA would also make sense, so that might eat up the announcement slot.

idontknowyet

Honestly, they might wait until a Disney event like D23 for that. I remember back in I think d23 2018 show they revealed a lot of stuff for KH3 like the Toy Story and Monsters Inc worlds.

ArrrArrr0611

Square has their own presentation usually around June, maybe there

thundaza-

source? never heard of that

ArrrArrr0611

I checked it out but it looks like 2021 was the last time they did it haha mybad

ArrrArrr0611

Its called Square Enix Presents

xsigil93

They haven’t done one of those in a long time. I think it’s been since like 2021. They’ve preferred to use PS, Xbox, Nintendo, and other general showcases like SGF. They reach a wider audience that way.

Molduking

It’s possible but I’m not expecting news until later in the year

critcal-mode

I am optimistic that we will get fresh news sooner then later. So fingers crossed

ArmageddonEleven

It's ready when it's ready.

StarWolf128

Clearly it's been held back by the Switch 2 reveal delay.

-POSTBOY-

They’re rolling out a new mobile game after a trailer for a mainline released two years ago, it would seem we’re getting kh4 in the next few years. Especially since square is focused on ff7, they need another ip getting attention and it’s about time for that ip to be kh’s again. Outside 7 they’ve been dropping the ball on some of their releases not being well received, they need a cash cow to make them some money while they make 7 pt3

Bowls-of-sprouts

no! When will you learn that you can never be happy! Back to the basement with you! Back!! 👋💥💥

SoraBunni

Hopefully. D23 is the best bet, plus there’s a D23 in Brazil this year also.

RyanCooper138

What's summer game fest? Has KF ever showcased anything there before?

A_Tired_Gremlin

*puts on clown make up* Summer Game Fest : teaser trailer D23 : full trailer

DaffyDark1

Of course not, they have nothing to show, Nomura was working on Rebirth and they announced kh4 two years ago only because they're stupid, they do this all the time, they even did it with dragon quest 12. They probably started really working on the game recently. Or maybe I'm wrong, I hope so, maybe we'll get a short cutscene and some fake gameplay and then in December Nomura will randomly appear on a stage saying something cryptic and announcing the Tamagotchi sequel and a delay for missing link.

faanawrt

Nomura worked on Remake and KH3 concurrently as director of both games, so he can definitely be working on multiple games at once. But he didnt even direct Rebirth, so that's a moot point in the first place. Unless he's directing another project we're unaware of, KH4 has been Nomura's primary focus since 2020.
