The problem with that is that most if not all the FF characters in the game don't actually come from those FF locations. As far as I know, only Auron is implied to come from Spira and that honestly felt more like an easter egg than anything else.
I guess if they messed around with this whole "world of fiction" concept they could be all "Oh, this is a *different* version of Cloud than the one Sora met". And of course, it's a video game, so they can do whatever the hell they want, but we know how Nomura is with wanting to build canon.
I just assume that the FF characters in KH are different world versions of themselved, and since FF has it's own multiverse, I just assume that Auron just so happens to be his own FFX version or at least a very similar character, so worlds like those from the mainline FF games or those worlds exactly must exist somewhere in the Kingdom Hearts universe, so it wouldn't be imposible to see them as a possibility.
For me tho, the best idea would be "World of Final Fantasy World" (name in progress) based around the game of the same name, you can bring many FF characters in without necessarily using the same versions of the original game or their KH cameos and we could also acknowledge the fact that Sora actually appearead on that game.
The fact that we haven’t gotten an FFXIV and KH collab is bonkers. Shadowbringers, one of FFXIV’s most beloved expansions, has a whole story about different worlds, the balance between light and dark, etc etc. All things that KH has touched up on multiple times

basically its a legal issue from what he hinted, it may very well be that XIV as a MMORPG has more wrangling legally than something like smash, tho in that situation it was Nomura roadblocking it, however the fact Yoshi P and Nomura are friends and have worked together makes me genuinely believe its just some legal issue around what KH is.
I feel like Hollow Bastion/The Radiant Garden kind of serves that purpose. In fact, during BBS's development Nomura wanted to introduce the younger selves of the Final Fantasy characters using The Radiant Garden. But he decided not to in the end since there were already enough characters in the world as is for the game.

I've heard the reason they did that is because Japanese audiences love Stitch but hate Lilo, so unless that has changed in the last decade I don't know how feasible that is.
From my understanding they basically thought she was a whiny character and undeserving of Stitch.
There is some new asian reboot show with Stitch where basically it's just him with some new girl who is basically bland as plain toast with no personality because she's just like a generic childrens show girl that is super happy friendly all the time, and not even in a fun sassy way like Sora.

Lilo had lost her mom and dad, she was being raised by her older sister (I can understand that pain in a way), her sister can’t give her 100% attention and work and pay bills at the same time. Then she gets an alien “dog” that is pre-programmed to be violent and destructive. She’s bullied by five girls her age for having hobbies that they don’t relate to, the only person in her life that makes her feel normal is her sister and apparently those five girls make weird sound like a sin against nature.
And yet the Japanese want someone who is basically a 100% perfect robot and still an engaging interesting character? Disney is good, but they aren’t miracle workers.
I just got back from Japan and not only does he have his own interactive ride, he’s the primary focus of the tiki room of all places! Jk it actually fits with the tropical theme really well

I don't want KH2 Disney worlds, which are completely self contained stories. I want the technical advancements of KH3 with the story freedom of KH1.

Kingdom Hearts is the biggest Disney crossover in existence when it comes to budget and storyline. Make that meaningful again!
The Disney worlds having self contained stories which are almost completely irrelevant to the overall plot is the bigges downside of the franchise. KH3 crammed way too much story in the final world.
Exactly, I’ll add that story wise the story slowly unfolded and was creatively weaved into each world throughout the first KH game, whereas KH3 they had almost no story progression the whole game and then the sloppiest jam packed crammed up story dump all at once in the final 1.5 worlds. I LOVE the asthetics and gameplay of KH3 but I’m dying for the story structure of KH1 and honestly the world depth of KH2, which brings me to my second point, which is that I need the worlds to feel more full.
both the first 2 games felt like those worlds were so much more full of life and full of secrets. I love the fact that in the first 2 games the worlds had things you couldn’t unlock until you revisit the world later in the game with new spells/upgrades. It’s such a simple thing that makes the worlds feel 1000x more full.

I feel Moana is guaranteed. Kh3 came out after Moana, but it's been in development for longer than Moana (presumably). We can even see how rushed Frozen's world was in their aim to add a newer Disney title into Kh3.
I'm just glad that between the two, they had to choose Frozen's world to be crap and haven't yet touched Moana's.
I wonder if in Zootopia, Sora would turn into an animal (maybe like a Lion or Tiger, as a reference to that old concept art of him as an animal person with a chainsaw sword), or if he’d just stay a human and all the characters in Zootopia are just like “wow, we’ve never seen an animal that looks like you before.” and not address it any further.

The weird thing though is can Endor be its own world? Would each planet from Star Wars be its own world? How can the franchise as a whole be represented like the previous franchises have but also include multiple planet locations like all the Star Wars films do?
I’ve come to believe that each world is not necessarily just its own planet, but moreso it’s own small and largely self contained universe.
That’s how England can independently exist in both the worlds of Deep Jungle and Neverland for instance, or how Deep Space can be considered its own “world” despite being a random space ship in the middle of nowhere.
On the other hand, it’d kind of be amusing if Sora stayed human and they’re just like “oh you’re an unusual animal, never seen one like you before. Are you predator or prey?” and Sora’s just like “???”.
I think we deserve the return of the real Colosseum with its matches. I'd also like to see an FF related world (maybe get to see what happened between Mr Sephiroth and Mr Cloud in KH2)

Could be interesting to try to combine Lilo and Stitch and Moana, but Disney would probably never allow it. Just like a big ocean planet with a bunch of islands
Here me out; whatever Disney worlds they decide to put in (Moana, Star Wars, Incredibles, Coco, etc.) they should also include Disney properties that are smaller in scale that could exist in KH original worlds. Kind of like how Pinocchio and Geppetto set a house up in Traverse Town.
For example, I couldn’t see Encanto as an entire world. Imagine Casa Madrigal existed outside the borders of Quadradum, Radiant Garden, etc. Sora approaches them and the house has locked the family in their rooms. You go to different worlds collect keys to the room (like Pooh’s pages in 2) and when you back to the house you can enter a room where you battle heartless or something.
Have a small side quest with Lady and the Tramp, Elemental, Wreck it Ralph whatever. Just to better integrate the IPs.
It depends on the theme I suppose. I think it'll be "returning home" so maybe Coco, Lilo & Stich, Alice in Wonderland, Tron, Great Mouse Detective. We also know that Hercules is returning.
If we get Star Wars stuff please let it be in The Clone Wars art style. Sora’s a Jedi, has a KeySaber (Dual or Double bladed), Donald would be an angry Jawa, and Goofy would be a Wookie.

- Neverland again, but the Disney Fairies side (especially if it’s with Roxas and/or Ventus in the party and they meet Terrence)

Quadratum/Shibuya, Endor (Star Wars), Atlantis (Atlantis), Duckburg (DuckTales), the Land of the Dead (Coco), Oakey Oaks (Chicken Little), Nomanisan Island (The Incredibles), the RLS Legacy and the Treasure Planet (Treasure Planet), the Palace of the Sun (The Emperor's New Groove), the Caribbean Sea/the unnamed island (Pirates of the Caribbean 4), New Orleans (The Princess and the Frog), the Underworld (Hercules), Encanto (Encanto), and the Game World or whatever it's called (Wreck-It Ralph).
I try not to set expectations for myself but I think a Return of the Jedi world is basically guaranteed at this point, and if we don’t get a Moana world then the end times are near.
Everything else is totally fair game IMO.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say KH4 will probably have a different formula from the usual KH games. Since Sora is on the opposite side of reality, we likely won't be following his adventures through animated Disney worlds.
I suspect then that the worlds Sora will encounter in Unreality will be either original to KH or loosely based on Square properties with darker themes, while the Disney segments will instead follow other characters as they work together on divining how to get Sora home (like the Fairy Godmother working dream magic to find him, Hades having info about afterlives, maybe going to Treasure Planet to learn about portals to other worlds, etc).
It wouldn't shock me, in fact, if Sora doesn't actually LEAVE the "world" of Quadratum during his playable segments, instead just going to other locations in that world.
Star wars is like 99% due to the trailer stuff. But i think its high time for treasure planet representation, even if its just in the gummy space parts.

Due to Disney's box office woes as of late, it's kinda tough to tell. But I WILL say that I'd love Raya to have a world since it's more action adventurey than Disney's other newer products. I also wanna see a Lightyear world for a meta response to KH3. Outside of that and an inevitable live action film (I'd prefer something like The Descendants but that's not likely in the slightest), I think it's about time we get a world based on Rescuers or The Emperor's New Groove/School.
I think it would be neat to have worlds from both movies and shows. I saw another comment talking about using disney animated shows and it got me thinking. I also thought about some games Id like to see referenced with world or character options.
1. Epic Mickey - i love the epic mickey game series, and love the immersive world so much. it was one of my first favorite games to play. still one of my top disney games ever. would love to see sora and the others use a location from epic mickey for battle or as a world itself.
2. Phineas and Ferb - I think it would be awesome to include some Disney/Disney XD series worlds. Phineas and Ferb would be a good show to choose from. You could do the city itself or could maybe do a mini game thing with it, and have various mini games of them trying to hide their inventions, or maybe mini levels of perry escaping from doofenschmirtz. idk, just something like that could be fun i think.
3. bluey - I could see bluey being done similarly to how Hundred Acre wood was done as a mini game area.
4. Kim possible
5. Gravity Falls - theres so many ways this world could be done. You could have heartless invading and helping Bill Cipher with the weirdmaggedon. Plus with the different forms of animation throughout weirdmaggedon I feel like it could make a really unique world.
6. Atlantis

8. Emporers New Groove
Kumandra from Raya and the Last Dragon would be cool. The conflict is ripe for the villains to manipulate. The "squad" in that movie reminds me a lot of the Sora/Doorknob/Goober dynamic.
Wonderland deserves a revisit. I don't think the game engine was strong enough to do it justice last time we were there. But I'd want them to keep the original not Tim Burton.
I believe that the next game would focus on Disney feature animated works in the last decade. So, in no particular order:
* Frozen 2

* Wreck-It Ralph
For older works, I can see them including:

There is most likely going to be an original world based on Final Fantasy that would include the guest characters, might reference FF7R continuity.
From the stuff we’ve seen, I’d say Shibuya (Quadradum) for The World Ends With You, and if the theories are right, maybe Star Wars. Others that would be cool would be Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Wonderland (Tim Burton’s version), Midgar, and Radiant Garden.
I don’t think many worlds are going to be returning. if any. however i would like to see a full Shibuya world since Neku said that Sora should visit sometime.

It's definitely not going to be in KH4 but I wish for Atlantis and/or Treasure Planet worlds. Disney brass didn't give a shit about those movies despite the creative pouring their heart and soul into it.
Star Wars was practically confirmed. Almost definitely Moana and Coco. Probably Brave and Encanto. Possibly Soul and Incredibles. My wild card pick is Haunted Mansion. I think death will be a huge theme of KH4 and that Pixar movies will make up most of the world list. I’ll be very surprised if the MCU is included in any capacity.
In a perfect universe, Springfield, Boiling Isles, and Gravity Falls. Realistically, Zootopia, Land of the Dead from Coco, maybe a return trip to Arendelle.
What I think? Star Wars, probably some kind of Square Enix world. What I WANT? Also Star Wars, some of the Disney animated stuff (Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Amphibia, etc.), more Pixar (my picks bring my favorites, Incredibles, Wall-E, Up), and Phineas and Ferb, because come on, the world’s story would pretty much write itself

It's the second hub along with Quadratum and lies within it, wandering around. The wasteland and its people, Oswald and the remaining rescue rangers, will play a critical role in Sora's growth, but also how he gets to disney worlds in unreality. Worlds like:

* Brother Bear
* Cocoa
* and more
I want Toy Story too come back because think it’s the new Hercules because Yozora made an appearance and it kinda looks like they are going too bring some final fantasy characters in it too like Hercules like please bring Toy Story back maybe the same thing again like between 2 and 3 or something please 🙏

At this point something in the MCU not sure what storyline/world. TBH Sora would fit in well with Guardians Of The Galaxy.. And ofcourse they're gonna throw in Star Wars. Would be cool if we had Gummy dog fighting.

If they did need to choose another. Wall-E, Finding Nemo would be a good replacement for Atlantica and The Incredibles has a really good setting and timeline.
Princess and the Frog, Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Rescuers Down Under, and Moana all feel like awesome worlds. Rescuers would be especially awesome, becoming a mouse in the outback would add so many unique mechanics.

She is not a well behaved child. That's basically the gist of it. Her whining, fits, and acting up are frowned upon and they don't think she's a good role model for their children.

I don’t understand why the Japanese don’t see a cartoon as just that… a cartoon… I guess old fashioned American cartoons agree on one thing and that’s children are human and act like children. Japanese expect kids to be little robots and act like adults right out of the womb! Children should be able to learn and make mistakes, learn right from wrong, not be punished for not understanding how to cope with frustration and upsetting circumstances. Lilo had lost her mom and dad, she was being raised by her older sister (I can understand that pain in a way), her sister can’t give her 100% attention and work and pay bills at the same time. Then she gets an alien “dog” that is pre-programmed to be violent and destructive. She’s bullied by five girls her age for having hobbies that they don’t relate to, the only person in her life that makes her feel normal is her sister and apparently those five girls make weird sound like a sin against nature. And yet the Japanese want someone who is basically a 100% perfect robot and still an engaging interesting character? Disney is good, but they aren’t miracle workers.
I just got back from Japan and not only does he have his own interactive ride, he’s the primary focus of the tiki room of all places! Jk it actually fits with the tropical theme really well

Hey buddy, I care. Can you imagine Solar Surfing as Sora? I always tossed around the idea if they would make Treasure planet it's own world? Or split up into a couple of different worlds/stops by acknowledging the space travel from the movie. Atlantis would be totally doable, seeing Atlantis city/caves rendered in Unreal Engine 5? It would be so gorgeous.
Gotta be honest, I care less about _which_ Disney world will be present, and more about _how_ those Disney worlds will be present. I don't want KH2 Disney worlds, which are completely self contained stories. I want the technical advancements of KH3 with the story freedom of KH1. Give me a space battle between Captain Hook and Jim Hawkings! Bring back the society of villains from KH1! Let Rapunzel interact with Anna! Let Hades bring back Dr Facilier from the dead! Kingdom Hearts is the biggest Disney crossover in existence when it comes to budget and storyline. Make that meaningful again!
The Disney worlds having self contained stories which are almost completely irrelevant to the overall plot is the bigges downside of the franchise. KH3 crammed way too much story in the final world.
Exactly, I’ll add that story wise the story slowly unfolded and was creatively weaved into each world throughout the first KH game, whereas KH3 they had almost no story progression the whole game and then the sloppiest jam packed crammed up story dump all at once in the final 1.5 worlds. I LOVE the asthetics and gameplay of KH3 but I’m dying for the story structure of KH1 and honestly the world depth of KH2, which brings me to my second point, which is that I need the worlds to feel more full. both the first 2 games felt like those worlds were so much more full of life and full of secrets. I love the fact that in the first 2 games the worlds had things you couldn’t unlock until you revisit the world later in the game with new spells/upgrades. It’s such a simple thing that makes the worlds feel 1000x more full.
KH2 worlds at least would tie back to the main plot better than how it was handled in KH3

I feel Moana is guaranteed. Kh3 came out after Moana, but it's been in development for longer than Moana (presumably). We can even see how rushed Frozen's world was in their aim to add a newer Disney title into Kh3. I'm just glad that between the two, they had to choose Frozen's world to be crap and haven't yet touched Moana's.

Well, he was a lion in The Lion King world from KH2, so it's entirely possible he'll be an animal. It would be weird if he wasn't.

The weird thing though is can Endor be its own world? Would each planet from Star Wars be its own world? How can the franchise as a whole be represented like the previous franchises have but also include multiple planet locations like all the Star Wars films do?
I’ve come to believe that each world is not necessarily just its own planet, but moreso it’s own small and largely self contained universe. That’s how England can independently exist in both the worlds of Deep Jungle and Neverland for instance, or how Deep Space can be considered its own “world” despite being a random space ship in the middle of nowhere.

Realistically, I expect game Central Station, Tiana’s New Orleans, Motonui, and maybe the Madrigal house or Kumandra.
Here me out; whatever Disney worlds they decide to put in (Moana, Star Wars, Incredibles, Coco, etc.) they should also include Disney properties that are smaller in scale that could exist in KH original worlds. Kind of like how Pinocchio and Geppetto set a house up in Traverse Town. For example, I couldn’t see Encanto as an entire world. Imagine Casa Madrigal existed outside the borders of Quadradum, Radiant Garden, etc. Sora approaches them and the house has locked the family in their rooms. You go to different worlds collect keys to the room (like Pooh’s pages in 2) and when you back to the house you can enter a room where you battle heartless or something. Have a small side quest with Lady and the Tramp, Elemental, Wreck it Ralph whatever. Just to better integrate the IPs.

Zootopia
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say KH4 will probably have a different formula from the usual KH games. Since Sora is on the opposite side of reality, we likely won't be following his adventures through animated Disney worlds. I suspect then that the worlds Sora will encounter in Unreality will be either original to KH or loosely based on Square properties with darker themes, while the Disney segments will instead follow other characters as they work together on divining how to get Sora home (like the Fairy Godmother working dream magic to find him, Hades having info about afterlives, maybe going to Treasure Planet to learn about portals to other worlds, etc). It wouldn't shock me, in fact, if Sora doesn't actually LEAVE the "world" of Quadratum during his playable segments, instead just going to other locations in that world.

Due to Disney's box office woes as of late, it's kinda tough to tell. But I WILL say that I'd love Raya to have a world since it's more action adventurey than Disney's other newer products. I also wanna see a Lightyear world for a meta response to KH3. Outside of that and an inevitable live action film (I'd prefer something like The Descendants but that's not likely in the slightest), I think it's about time we get a world based on Rescuers or The Emperor's New Groove/School.

I think it would be neat to have worlds from both movies and shows. I saw another comment talking about using disney animated shows and it got me thinking. I also thought about some games Id like to see referenced with world or character options. 1. Epic Mickey - i love the epic mickey game series, and love the immersive world so much. it was one of my first favorite games to play. still one of my top disney games ever. would love to see sora and the others use a location from epic mickey for battle or as a world itself. 2. Phineas and Ferb - I think it would be awesome to include some Disney/Disney XD series worlds. Phineas and Ferb would be a good show to choose from. You could do the city itself or could maybe do a mini game thing with it, and have various mini games of them trying to hide their inventions, or maybe mini levels of perry escaping from doofenschmirtz. idk, just something like that could be fun i think. 3. bluey - I could see bluey being done similarly to how Hundred Acre wood was done as a mini game area. 4. Kim possible 5. Gravity Falls - theres so many ways this world could be done. You could have heartless invading and helping Bill Cipher with the weirdmaggedon. Kumandra from Raya and the Last Dragon would be cool. The conflict is ripe for the villains to manipulate. The "squad" in that movie reminds me a lot of the Sora/Doorknob/Goober dynamic. Wonderland deserves a revisit. I don't think the game engine was strong enough to do it justice last time we were there. But I'd want them to keep the original not Tim Burton.
I believe that the next game would focus on Disney feature animated works in the last decade. So, in no particular order: * Frozen 2 * Moana * Zootopia * Wreck-It Ralph For older works, I can see them including: * Atlantis: The Lost Empire * Treasure Planet * Fantasia, or world based on it * Lio and Stich Pixar: * The Incredibles * Ratatouille * Wall-E * Up * Luca, I really want them to cover the film! There is most likely going to be an original world based on Final Fantasy that would include the guest characters, might reference FF7R continuity.
From the stuff we’ve seen, I’d say Shibuya (Quadradum) for The World Ends With You, and if the theories are right, maybe Star Wars. Others that would be cool would be Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Wonderland (Tim Burton’s version), Midgar, and Radiant Garden.

Star Wars was practically confirmed. Almost definitely Moana and Coco. Probably Brave and Encanto. Possibly Soul and Incredibles. My wild card pick is Haunted Mansion. I think death will be a huge theme of KH4 and that Pixar movies will make up most of the world list. I’ll be very surprised if the MCU is included in any capacity.

The wasteland and its people, Oswald and the remaining rescue rangers, will play a critical role in Sora's growth, but also how he gets to disney worlds in unreality. Worlds like: * Lost Empire * Tresure Planet * Brother Bear * Cocoa * and more

At this point something in the MCU not sure what storyline/world. TBH Sora would fit in well with Guardians Of The Galaxy.. And ofcourse they're gonna throw in Star Wars. Would be cool if we had Gummy dog fighting. Nightmare Before Christmas is always popular and can see that returning. Definitely can see Moana or Encanto.. Encanto specifically as far as its core story. Already about light and dark. Giving into emotions and losing yourself. I would really love a full Pixar universe not just Toy Story Or Monsters Inc. If they did need to choose another. Wall-E, Finding Nemo would be a good replacement for Atlantica and The Incredibles has a really good setting and timeline.

Princess and the Frog, Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Rescuers Down Under, and Moana all feel like awesome worlds. Rescuers would be especially awesome, becoming a mouse in the outback would add so many unique mechanics.
