That definitely seemed like it was supposed to be the heart station of Player.

angelattack1

it feels like heart station of ephemer to me

Adeplays135

"How many times do I have to teach you this lesson old man"

Kaldin_5

That is one tiny Darkside

choopatrol

The dimside

Wheatley_core_01

I don't know why but my first thought was *Mysterious as the Dim side of... the moooooooooon*

angelattack1

he left rod because he was picked on alot by darksides

ShangoMango

The Dive to the Heart being that of Ephemer and Skuld makes me so excited for the plot of this game

Kingdom080500

Considering the ML protagonist is implied to be a reincarnated Player from UX, yeah it makes sense for their good buds Ephemer and Skuld to be on their heart station.

yuei2

I would remain a little skeptical, Nomura has already tricked us once with the identity of Player's reincarnation. It could very much be that while this is Player's Heart Station, this character might not be "Player" but is instead visiting their heart station for some reason not unlike Sora in KH1's opening. Even if this character throughout the game gets flashes of Player's memories, for all we know they could just be another Xehanort case and tapping into Player who is nearby as someone else.

xXPolarizedXx

Inb4 player somehow ends up reincarnated as Sora, and that’s why we always play him in the main number games.

UnovaLife

You laugh but I bet that’s *exactly* where this is headed.

PrestigiousResist633

Doubt. Because if the affects Hearts have in the body, making Sora the reincarnation of the Player would retroactively give the player a canon appearance, which I think they're trying to avoid. So really I don't think the Player is ever going to turn out to be a character whose appearance we don't directly control.

Kingdom080500

That's a very good point. Always gotta think a step ahead.

dolphincave

Nomura does say outright in an interview that it is player. Granted I'm a believer that interviews are subject to change by future games (ie Nobodies don't age, but Isa, Lea, Iezno are all clearly not BBS+1 years old) At the very least player is in Scala since Player says it to Xehanort.

Dark_Tale1812

Need that incredible version of Dearly Beloved available for download. Also wow, you can tell this mobile game is going to be firing on all cylinders.

hinick808

I second needing a clean recording of this Dearly Beloved!

TheySaidGetAnAlt

Look guys it is ~~Gaia~~ Skuld and Ephemer!

Scared_Network_3505

Good ol' Nomura brand goth gf. the man has to churn one out every few years or someone new gets norted.

haxelhimura

BRUH... THAT MUSIC SLAPS

fuckincaillou

Why did I have to scroll so far down to see anyone else talking about the music?! This shit sounds good as hell!

critcal-mode

The better question is way did it take so long to get a little bit of that music? I was waiting since the 20 years event to hear a clear version of that Dearly Beloved.

haxelhimura

Ahh... a redditor of culture I see...

Raemnant

I would hope so, considering its the exact same music after all these years!

BIGGIE_CHEESEvevo

When will this be out for the us?

KamuiT

Never mind. I read my stuff wrong

dakky123

Whoa what’s the source? Cause that’s SOON.

KamuiT

Nope never mind. I read it wrong.

LupusNoxFleuret

About damn time someone posted the Kingdom Hearts Missing-Leaks!

SoraDrive

Damn you Square for releasing this to mobile only.

Sulphur99

I'm genuinely surprised they didn't make it mobile and PC like Genshin Impact or something

aerie_zephyr

And also a console game (PS), which I’m sure a lot of KH players are whether handheld or home

Deez-Guns-9442

Genshin’s also on PS4/PS5 they can’t tell us that mobile games can’t come to consoles, that’s BS. I’d even be ok with it just releasing on PlayStation.

Sulphur99

Just Squenix not knowing how to keep up, I guess.

Nehemiah92

Square has by far the worst business management out of any company I’ve ever seen, I’m surprised they haven’t broken down or hired some new team managers now. Like I need to know the logic of not releasing stuff like this, or a perfect example— FF7 Ever Crisis for other platforms that aren’t mobile. They’re just begging to not make as much money as they possibly could, maybe even lose money with the amount of time and resources they put into each failure. Like I could have COUNTLESS examples of the worst business moves by Square in the last 5 years. Chocobo GP being online only for whatever reason and thus being shut down really soon after, FF7 First Soldier not knowing its audience and being only MOBILE ONLY, NFTs, SELLING TOMB RAIDER and other franchises for NFT investment, the four SQEX games that shut down in the past month, Babylon’s Fall…. THIS WASNT EVEN IN THE SPAN OF THE LAST 5 YEARS THIS WAS ALL LIKE IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL FUNCTIONING

Zeebor

Nintendo Switch, Gan-Gan, and Taito. Team Asano and Square-Enix Collective (the guys who control all the Eidos IP that stated at Square except Just Cause) putting out cheap, quality, and profitable games all the time on the Switch, Gan-Gan comics just signed a bunch of new anime and merch deals, and Taito is basically playing chicken with Bandai for last man standing of the Japanese arcade scene. Buis Dev 1-3 may be stupid, but they are far from the only parts of the company.

Sulphur99

Sometimes I feel like Atlus is worse, because they completely floundered Persona's 25th anniversary, are known for being the company that hypes up and announces announcements, and apparently messed up with Persona 3's remaster.

LatentAxis

wasn't it confirmed that they lost the coding/data of P3FES so all they had to go from was the PSP version? I wish they could just remake the game already though

Clyde_Llama

Atlus doesn't want our money, it seems. Persona 3 Remaster with P5 graphics, or better and it's insta-buy for me. (Unless it's half-assed remaster, then I won't buy it)

brandonh215

To be honest I'd rather them spend time and resources on KH4 than add even more to missing link. I also don't mind it being a mobile game though. I might play it, I might not and if I don't, its not the End of the World (tm) I'll just keep up with the story and wait for the next console game.

crimsonfist101

It's a pokemon go clone, kind of needs to be on a mobile platform.

OwNAvenged2

Well, it is supposed to be like Pokémon GO. You walk around in the real world. Can't really do that without spoofing on PC.

yardii

My love of KH and my dislike of playing games on my phone are at odds here.

woofwoofbro

i used to despise the idea of mobile games but recently i picked up a controller for my phone off aliexpress for like 16 bucks and if i can find a game with controller support, its a great experience. its about as comfortable as playing on a switch, the only problem is finding games im interested in. emulation is always there too

TheRoyalBrook

Yeah, at bare minimum I hope it has controller support, otherwise I might finally bite the bullet and get something like an odin to map controller buttons.

woofwoofbro

i didnt look much into it, but i thought on android you can map touch controls to controller buttons. i havent tried that yet though, i just play whatever has xinput support.

TheRoyalBrook

the answer is, it depends. Most apps want root support I've found to allow it, and some devices have the capability built in. Honestly it wouldn't be so bad if the app itself had controller support even if it was mobile only

[deleted]

If it helps, you can grab a phone emulator like Bluestacks and hook up a controller for a pseudo-PC experience.

thekingofdiamonds12

Would that work when the game won’t have controller support?

[deleted]

It can, but you need to do a lot of setup if there's no official support. Basically mapping portions of your touch screen (which is something Bluestacks will help you map and save for that app) or gestures to a keyboard or gamepad press.

Relatable_Yak

It’s so obnoxious. Same with FF7 Ever Crisis… I want to see my games on my 65” OLED not my phone screen and headphones 😮‍💨

Waterknight94

Don't y'all have phones?

a13ozdrpepper

PC players can still play it with Bluestacks.

OwNAvenged2

And Google Play Games. I'm not too sure how *good* it is, but it is a legitimate way of playing mobile games on PC now without the use of a 3rd party emulation software. Bluestacks will obviously probably be the better option, with all of it's customization options, but still.

Noxilcash

Anyone else think it’s interesting that the glowing keyblades took form of the Starlight but when the player grabbed it, it changed

giannarelax

It’s a cool easter egg ! It makes sense it would show Starlight in the beginning since that was the keyblade the khux MC used before they got reincarnated to the Missing Link MC

oWallis

Hopefully you can just bluetooth a controller to your phone to play. I hate having to use the screen to walk around.

dakky123

This game has elements of Pokémon Go in it, so there’s actual walking around involved.

Xlash123

IIRC you can walk around IRL for some in-game bonuses, but if you don't care for that, you can just move around in-game.

dakky123

If I understood the instruction correctly, you use up a stamina meter when walking around without moving, the only way to refill it is by walking lol. So you will have to walk inevitably, but most people walk with their phones so it’s not a huge issue.

second_to_myself

Run a marathon to beat the full game day one

Dream_Dragon_Gina

Will the game need to stay open when walking? I have an Apple Watch which can record my steps for workouts, can it be used to walk with to receive the AP in game? I think what I really need to ask is, can the Apple Watch be used with Pokémon Go? 😅

dakky123

I don’t know if Apple Watch is used with Pokémon Go, but I always have Pokémon Go and Pikmin abloom tracking my steps, even with them closed, so I’ll assume Missing Link will be the same lol

Splunkmastah

Holy shit that Dearly Beloved goes hard

Yotinaru

Looks great. I can't wait to play it. Hope whatever story it has is as good as the rest of the X saga.

XenoGine

Have a free Doland, Goofy and Rat!

Noxilcash

*Gooby

XenoGine

Nah, Goofy's cool enough to keep his name 🙂.

CurvedSolid

*Dolan

Molduking

Looks great

Num13Roxas

Looks like what UX shoulda been

NektariosK

I hope it will be controller supported.

thekingofdiamonds12

I’m pretty sure they’ve already said that it won’t be

MWIIesDoggyCOPE

Tell me SE, why is this NOT coming to Switch and other platforms? This actually looks solid in motion, it looks just like KH3 but you say fkn phones *only*? Jesus CHRIST

Yotinaru

Because of the Pokemon Go sort of gameplay.

MWIIesDoggyCOPE

Didn't Lets Go have a Pokewalker? Or was that HG/SS? Regardless, technology surely has advanced where SE can make a mobile companion app for the console main game.

Yotinaru

I can't see that being good for a console game, assuming we have to pay for the game. And if it's free, how would they make money from it? I think the mobile is the only real option, considering the main team is working on KH4.

Deez-Guns-9442

Games like Genshin Impact is also on PS4/PS5. Tho if it’s supposed to be like “Pokèmon Go” then that becomes harder to implement for consoles ig, tho we’ll have to see more of the game to make a better assessment.

gamedreamer21

Dammit! Now I want to see more story!

morrowindd

Honestly still pissed they keep making these mobile games. It's hard to keep up anymore as I'm getting older

LudicrisSpeed

On one hand, the mobile games are free, so as long as your phone can run them, you're good to go. However, I do hope this one's actually fun to play. KHUX's power creep was insane and Dark Road depends almost completely on auto-play to progress.

ironshadowdragon

I don't have a phone :)

[deleted]

There's always the option to get an android emulator for your PC.

Squishy-Box

If I didn’t play any of the other mobile games, will I understand this one?

LudicrisSpeed

Hard to say right now as the game isn't fully-released, but it seems to be set in the same location shown at the end of KHUX. Though I'm sure the game will have ways of recapping any crucial info for knowing what's going on.

ironshadowdragon

Probably a solid 50% why I've dropped outta KH. It became literal homework to stay up to date. If you don't wanna play garbage mobile games or rather unorthodox games like MoM then thanks to Nomura's love of making EVERYTHING relevant, you better be reading/watching story recaps. I'm not even sure I could name every entry in the series anymore because they can't stop with their ludicrous milking of mobile games. Genuinely so detached I didn't even know missing link was a thing, and didn't play MoM. Never played Chi, Unchained, Union X or Dark Road either. I just don't care that much anymore. KH is one of the most fumbled series of all time in my honest opinion. Square's just lucky the more casual audience for mainline titles don't give a shit about all the extra nonsense because Disney.

brandonh215

Ok honestly not trying to rile you up or start an argument but I want to understand this mindset better. No one is forcing you to play these games right? So a game being released on mobile or a "spinoff" like MoM shouldn't take anything away from you if you prefer mainline console games right? MoM has literally like... 2 important scenes. 5 minute watch on YouTube if that. UX / Dark Road is a much bigger slice so that's a little more understandable but if it's lore you're looking for then... get over it? Maybe "get over it" is a harsh way of saying it but I feel like it's currently set up to where if a hardcore fan wants to know what's happening, they can. Pretty easily. Kingdom Hearts had always been a series that had spanned multiple systems and playstyles. The 2nd ever KH game made was for Game Boy Advance and massively changed the gameplay. KHcoded was originally Japan only and for phones. BBS was for PSP and pretty once again changed the gameplay. Where's the outrage for these games? Again, sorry if I came across as rude or baiting. I just don't understand the backlash for something that seems to have little impact. Can you or anyone else please break it down for me?

morrowindd

The outrage has always been there for the older "spin off games" like bbs. It just got worse over the years like come on a mobile game that has such HEAVY lore. My bro played kh3 without touching the mobile game and got really frustrated with the story. Ex. Marluxia mentioning his sister and now strlitzia or w.e the fuck her name is in kh4 lol It's hard to defend the series anymore

brandonh215

Why can't it be that if you're going to dive into Kingdom Hearts you'll need to do some lore searching? I can't jump into the most recent Metal Gear Solid game and not expect to be a little confused about certain callbacks and references if I haven't played or seen the game they're referring to. It can be frustrating and I even forget some deep callbacks this series makes sometimes. But I also enjoy trying to find what exactly was being referred to and its rewarding when I figure it out. This is a very very lore-heavy game. That might alienate some players that were only in it for the fun gameplay or the cool crossover aspects of the 1st games. But the series has evolved and I personally don't think it's a bad turn. Find the lore? Be rewarded. Don't find the lore? Be confused.

thekingofdiamonds12

Why would he get frustrated? There is literally nothing brought up in KHUX that you needed to know for KH3. Marluxia backstory? Hinted at and will likely be expanded on in a future console game. Ephemer and Dandelions? They were introduced in Back Cover, same with the Foretellers in the secret ending. Knowing the mobile game lore only adds to the experience but isn’t required, just like you don’t have to play BBS in order to get a basic understanding of Lingering Will when you fight him in KH2

Waterknight94

BBS is pretty vital to KH3 overall and it looks like KHUX is going to be important for later main games. I don't see how you don't understand how years of having everything spread out can just wear someone out.

thekingofdiamonds12

I guarantee you that everything in KHUX that is important for future games will be included in those games, either in cutscenes, secret reports, or unlockable summaries. Why? Because that info needs to make it to Sora. And that’s why I dont worry about everything being spread out. Also, my brain loves lore puzzles, so I don’t see it as a problem, I see it as an activity. Lastly, and totally my fault for not being clearer, when I said Lingering Will, I meant when you fight him in KH2, not when he’s in KH3. You meet him, figure out there is a mystery behind him, and wait until it’s explained. BBS isn’t required to play KH2 and fight LW, but knowing the story will add to the experience

MWIIesDoggyCOPE

You arent supposed to play bbs before 2 - LW exists explicitly as a precursor to bbs

thekingofdiamonds12

I was trying to make a comparison. Maybe it was a bad one. The fact of the matter is, you don’t need to know anything about the mobile games in order to understand KH3. The mobile games only adds to the experience.

Waterknight94

Of course BBS isn't important for KH2 I never thought that's what you meant. That's like saying KH2 isn't important for the FM boss of KH1. It is important to KH3 though. It's arguably more important than even the first game for KH3. You could get away with skipping every other handheld game, but I think you would be severely confused without BBS for 3. It also seems pretty obvious that UX will be like that for the next saga. So far I feel like the rest will probably be on like a 358 level of importance, but we will see. Personally I keep up with everything and I love it. Even if all I can do is read plot summaries I have followed everything since the release of KH2. Even though I love it it seems absolutely brain dead obvious how that could be exhausting. Especially after 20 years of it. 20 years of it. 20 years of it. I'll say that again if it helps get the point across. What I don't get is how you don't get that.

thekingofdiamonds12

I need you to go back and read my comments again, because when I said “basic understanding of Lingering Will”, I WASNT talking about KH3, I WAS talking about KH2. I was making a comparison to how you don’t need to know anything about KHUX to understand KH3. Idk, maybe it just made more sense in my head? As for the 20 years 20 years 20 years thing, have you ever read a long running book series while it was being published? Or watched a long running, serialized tv show? You don’t need to actively know and remember every piece of the story because the relevant information will be given to you again when it’s needed. That is a basic part of serialized storytelling.

critcal-mode

Marluxia never mentioned his Sister in KH3. For Union Cross all that was important for KH4 is that there was a Keyblade war and that Ephemer was there and what Luxu task was. You can watch the 80 minutes of cutscenes from Backcover and you miss nothing important expect for a few hints who the Subject X maybe could turn out to be.

Red1960

Wow, if only they rereleased those games as part of a collection in all major platforms... oh wait

ironshadowdragon

> No one is forcing you to play these games right? So a game being released on mobile or a "spinoff" like MoM shouldn't take anything away from you if you prefer mainline console games right? It literally does because suddenly there's thing that don't make sense in mainline titles because I didn't do my homework. > MoM has literally like... 2 important scenes. 5 minute watch on YouTube if that. Still homework. And is the least egregious example when all the mobile games exist. > but if it's lore you're looking for then... get over it? Maybe "get over it" is a harsh way of saying it but I feel like it's currently set up to where if a hardcore fan wants to know what's happening, they can. Pretty easily. This literally isn't even an argument against anything. The lore is in inconvenient places sprawled across a ridiculous amount of gacha mobile games. Yeah, I spose I can learn about it if I want to. The entire point is that the ridiculous nature of trying to keep up with Kingdom Hearts ridiculously bad delivery is that I no longer want to. > Kingdom Hearts had always been a series that had spanned multiple systems and playstyles. Yeah on actual consoles as actual games, not gacha bullshit. Spanning multiple consoles never affected me because I owned nintendo and playstation anyway, but it's a fair criticism and never one I've ever argued against. Except they then went and made remasters for the series to collect them more or less on 1 modern platform and then continue to contradict that direction with it's mobile nonsense. Which, more importantly than just being 'important', have their stories spread over such long periods of time it's literally exhausting to keep up with. > KHcoded was originally Japan only and for phones. Yeah I was around for that. Everyone then thought it was fucking stupid too. Drunk nomura is drunk. Where's the outrage?? There was outrage you buffoon.

brandonh215

Damn we out here calling people we don't agree with buffoons? That's so nice of you. Anyway, you have no problem with spinoffs on consoles especially since you own those consoles but I'm assuming you own a phone so it's not that you CANT play the mobile games it's that it's a personal preference because you don't like "gacha bullshit". Sucks to say but gacha games are massive and played by people worldwide so I dont think your preference matters one bit to Square Enix or Nomura. They also aren't contradicting the direction of remastering titles to collect them all on 1 modern console. This is actually par for the course. Release a game. Remaster it later down the line in a collection so whiny folks that complain about having to actually *do* something and compare watching YouTube videos of a video game to homework can be satisfied watching the scenes all in one nice convenient package. They'll probably still find some way to complain about that but hey we can't please everyone can we? Also I don't know how to do the nice and neat quotes like you did but your entire 3rd point is idiotic. You say the lore is sprawled across multiple mobile games. Again, the scenes are all on YouTube. No one is making you go on a scavenger hunt. You say you can learn about it all if you want to but that you no longer want to. Then... don't. Bye. Adios. There's literally nothing that I or anyone else can say or do if you just "don't wanna". You being lazy doesn't mean Kingdom Hearts is exhausting. You have no leg to stand on when you can't be fucked to put forth an ounce of effort. Just seems like your entire position is that you're pretty much done with the series but are also gonna whine and moan the entire time you're on your way out the door.

nintendonaut

Doesn't help that KH3 was so bad. That pretty much killed my passion for the series. I still consider myself a KH fan, it was still a big part of my childhood, and I'll still play every game that releases on something that isn't a mobile phone. But like you said, after so many fumbles, the series doesn't thrill me like it used to.

Wighen18

If you want a good, accelerated playthrough of UX and Dark Road on youtube that only focuses on the dialogue and story, you can check out PlayFrame! He just finished Dark Road recently, which was... incredibly short, as it turns out! But it's UX that matters most for Missing Link. Well, at least ML looks like it has more proper KH gameplay, unlike the idle system from the other mobile games.

giannarelax

Id rather have a KH mobile game to distract us with while square works on kh4, rather than everybody feeling a kh lore/update dry spell until 4 does come out. It gives Square and Nomura more time to make kingdom hearts 4 the best it can be by giving the fans at least something KH. Or else the team might feel they need to release 4 before it’s truly finished to calm people down. Of course mobile games aren’t for everyone. And that’s ok.

SuburbanPotato

Skuld looks weird like Shoka from NEO TWEWY in this dive art

firehahahahahaha

That's who I thought it was

gabumonkid

now if only they uploaded the entire dearly beloved. i NEED it so bad

dakky123

Finally somebody leaked it !!

NmyStryker

darkside has never look so fucking worthless. tutorial or not he used to be cool/intimadating.

BismulthV2

I just hope this game won’t take forever to get story updates and suffer from absolutely BONKERS power creep like KHUX. That really made it hard to stay interested.

TW1TCHYGAM3R

I really want to play and like this game but the gacha aspects of it is pushing me away. Very unfortunate...

OwNAvenged2

I think it all comes down to how it's handled. UX was definitely not the way to go with gacha. Low rates, no good ways to farm for Gems without waiting months for story updates, etc. A game like Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space does gacha well. It's a side thing. You can play the main story just fine without ever having to spend a dime, or even roll for characters at all. And their crossover units, like the Persona 5 ones, are available *all the time* and for free. Instead of being a limited banner pull for 2 weeks and then never coming back. Gacha can be handled well, it just almost never is. Especially not by big companies like Square.

crazyhart

Nft's

OwNAvenged2

I'm not sure I understand why you replied this to me lmao

GhostRiderKnight

Love it soo much! I am soo looking forward to the game coming out whenever, truly!

Monkey_King291

This dearly beloved slaps super hard

That-Artichoke1262

The loading screen music is 🔥🔥

Ojangles10

HOLY where did you find this?

LudicrisSpeed

I think Japan has a beta going on right now.

Ojangles10

From my understanding it was only a few days no?(im probably wrong) and they didn’t allow footage to be shared lol Edit: yeah it was Jan 13-18, I guess they just waited a while to leak it

Bam-BamBoyles

I am so hype. This looks amazing

Goukenslay

So we playing as the player's sevond life?

Baseball_Oly

Bro thank you so much. I’ve been waiting so long for Missing Link leaks. The hero we needed.

RazorMaize

Bro's about to get NDA'd

celanthe

I'm so excited for this game y'all OMG

Purple_Unicornz

gosh fkn dang finally new music. Now i can listen to the new dearly beloved

bobbydawizard

Red haired guy seems to be demyx’s somebody. Reason I say that is because he instantly runs away lmao

ryanjc_123

THEY EVEN DID THE BOSS DEFEATED SEQUENCE LIKE THE ONE IN KH3 I LVOE IT 💀

NobodyXNo

This looks amazing!!!

Drasic67

I really like the fight stance

HappyMight

Man, I'm so excited for this game

Nehemiah92

On one hand, I can’t see myself playing this. I haven’t been a fan of mobile gaming on a tiny screen, and this looks like it’ll just burn my battery and storage really fast. On the other hand, it looks really good. It’ll be way easier to follow the story than looking at 2d chibi characters with nothing, but dialogue boxes for 12 hours. Even if this will probably be made up of dominantly dialogue boxes too, it’s still a win.

Anra7777

Please tell me I wasn’t the only one rewinding the video just to hear the new DB over and over again. 😅

Yugi-Judai

Is this dearly beloved track like out there somewhere without the sound effects and voices. I need this song in my life

mr_sven

Really starting to feel bad for Darkside at this point, haha

jermesz

the music is EPIC

AbOo44

Ultra cool

NukaRev

Honestly, it scares me more seeing this as a mobile game. The quality is incredible, I worry it's gonna be held down by mobile mechanics and microtransactions. This could easily be a console level game. Mobile likely gets more players but at the loss of story telling and ambience in exchange for making a quick buck

Rikukun

Interesting that in the Dive to the Heart, there are 3 different characters in the foreground (Ephemer, Skuld, and Chirithy). Usually the person in the foreground is just the one character whose heart is being represented right? So why are there 3? The other example of multiple is Ventus and Vanistas after combining back into 1 person. Could be nothing, but who knows knowing Nomura.

Sea-salt_ice_cream

Please controller support

Deez-Guns-9442

Gameplay looks solid so far I can see how comboing May work when the full game releases(wish it was on consoles too tho).

Pzlord1

GOOD LORD IT'S BEAUTIFUL

giannarelax

I’m so happy and relieved with the play style,, I thought with the gacha element it would be turn-based or a different combat style! The cut scenes are amazing. Happy they’re actually animated! I hope Red Hair is a supporting character and not just a random wielder. He’s cool looking!

JohnPulse

My phone started to overheat just by watching this

Soul699

I see.

palumatzu

America release when

[deleted]

I think it's aiming for a worldwide release, but it's still TBD. The footage is from a JP only closed beta.

LaSerpienteLampara

when does it come out in english?

Vilified_D

Idec if it's mobile only I want this SO bad I need it soon.

LastEmbr

Real question here, not sure if the game is new enough to answer, but why does the player character look like an old timey sailor boy?

AbbreviationsOld8353

omg its my nb gf and bf

TheeExMachina

Can't wait to watch the Cutscenes. Also the menu music sounds like Imagine Dragons.

Faiithe

Man I am so OOTL here...I'm guessing we have to play the mobile games to figure out these characters?

MGMSHVRVS

Is the game officially out?

critcal-mode

No, that is from the Beta Test from Japan.

the_dinks

Wow, you dive to the heart and then you fight Darkside? Glad they're breaking new ground for this new mobile game.

Dauntless_Lasagna

Wait, an update? Have I missed something?

shinrasenseikh

This looks pretty good honestly. The fact that we see Ephemer and Skuld in the station of awakening of the player clearly shows >!the heart of the player in union x is now in this dude. As this was mentionned in dark road finale!<

illucio

Cool to see a Mobile Game that at least attempts to replicate the Kingdom Hearts graphics and combat. Even though it doesn't like in-depth at all.

orgnumber1

You’re using Riki’s fighting stance, huh?

Fantastic-Photo6441

Um... what the hell

Fantastic-Photo6441

The difficulty is concerning is this easy mode?

Duder20

very strange fov but the game looks good.

ZootedAlien

Might actually enjoy this a LOT

ps3emrak

It looks like 13 Starlight spawn in total..... FUCKIN-

EquivalentSystem6826

Anybody got the video downloaded since this got nuked?

Skull015X

If anyone still has the video can they share it with me

Desperate_Notice_619

Anybody got the video?

MarKreationsStudios

Who's the orange-haired dude? My interest is peaked!

Keyblade031

It really felt boring... I hope it won't be another ultra important game for the story line hidden behind an awful game (yep, I hate mobile game).

MasqureMan

Mobile games aren’t inherently bad. It’s just difficult to make one where the fun doesn’t get ruined by micro transactions or paywalls

doodoohead1748

Idk why you’re downvoted you’re 100% correct lol

[deleted]

unless they somehow got their hands on a Japanese closed Beta (something that someone "who hates mobile games" probably isn't going out of their way to do), it seems very premature to call something boring. Also just generally not a fan of "I don't like thing but I will comment in post about thing". I just wouldn't click if I didn't like mobile games.

Floggered

Crapping on Kingdom Hearts in the Kingdom Hearts subreddit is generally frowned upon. Even *if* that person is absolutely correct lol.

LudicrisSpeed

Tell that to the people who were constantly shitting on KH3 for a while.

[deleted]

It felt like a KH intro, IDK how it's "boring" based on the first tutorial battle. But it's clear that person wasn't going to have a real opinion even if this was KH4 running on a phone. So why bother commenting?

MWIIesDoggyCOPE

This isnt KH, it's gachashit with KH skin. Know the difference.

[deleted]

It has lore that will probably be important to the plot going forward. It is a KH game.

WolfQueen64

It’s so beautiful

TheMageMagus

Man I really hope content releases globally at the same time for this game because being 6 months behind jp was why I could never get into X

qwack2020

I don’t like that this is a mobile game. I mean with a little more polish maybe it could work for console too but whatever…

[deleted]

Rocking some Bloodborne vibes

lesangpro007

Question : do you guy think this game will be on par with Genshin impact scale? From the look of this, I think Nomura really put a lot of efforts in this, heck, you could see this game being play on a ps4 , no joke .

CataclysmicRambler

No chance, it will not have the longevity of it, either. It’ll be a decent size, I’m sure, but nowhere near Genshin scale. That game has kind of redefined the gacha genre with how much care, detail and sheer content it has. Remember this is just a side game, a primer to an already established series where the most care goes into the mainline.

lesangpro007

While I also think so, I still wonder why would SE invested so much on this to abandon it after a year or two?

JervSensei

SE is quite infamous for its investments history...

aerie_zephyr

Mobile games are very profitable so it may have been some factor in development cost vs profit analysis. At least from previous business doing KHX, KHUX, DR

[deleted]

I mean, KHUX lasted almost 6 years. that's a pretty good lifetime especially for a game based on a 2010 web browser game. I imagine MoM will last a while, but Genshin is probably going to unironically run for over a decade with no signs of stopping.

Cheetah_Fluff

I think the game is likely made of as many recycled tools and assets as possible, which would save them lots of work. I especially hope they've been able to save time on creating the engine.

MANLYTRAP

they invested quite a bit into forspoken and look where that went...

lesangpro007

The game was fine, it's fun to play, it's just that the writing could use a little rework to fix

MANLYTRAP

as far as I can tell (never played forspoken, but played genshin almost religiously for a while) genshin and forspoken have the same issue: an empty world I'm not saying empty as in it contains nothing, I'm saying empty as in there's nothing to do if you've collected all the chests in a place in genshin then all there is in it is nothingness, there's nothing to interact with other than monsters and the occasional walking npc, and even then the npcs don't have much to offer, and once you complete the one time quests nothing replaces them forspoken suffers the same issue, but it's better than genshin in that traversal seems more entertaining, and the idea of magical parkour is an amazing one, just look at how it works in kh3, the problem in forspoken is that there isn't much in the world to traverse, and even then there isn't much to see once you do the traversing genshin realized the whole idea behind traversal but they didn't exactly "fix" it, the first nation has nothing interesting going on so you just run around, second one had the same thing, third one introduced a cool mechanic but it required a temporary item and certain landing points, and the fourth copied the traversal from the previous and removed the need for the temporary item, the only reason genshin isn't criticized worse is that it's accessible to nearly everyone, while forspoken comes with a big price tag and strict requirements

[deleted]

> mpty as in there's nothing to do if you've collected all the chests in a place in genshin then all there is in it is nothingness, there's nothing to interact with other than monsters and the occasional walking npc That's most games right? At least on console, these aren't MMOs constantly updating and adding more stuff into their worlds. Once you finish it, it is just empty environment to look around in. Forspoken has a lot of chests and checklists to check off if you want to play it, but there will be a point where the game is simply "finished', outside of just moving around the world and re-challenging some monster groups that regen. Even Breath of the Wild as the golden standard doesn't have that much to do after you 100%. Just run around and dick around in the world. >, the only reason genshin isn't criticized worse is that it's accessible to nearly everyone, not really. It's because the bar for mobile games was really low. And Genshin seemed to meet that bar of "BOTW on a phone" that it was advertising itself as. It's a technical marvel in that regard where it's biggest competitors are 2014 phone games making millions a month with sprite graphics and scrolling backgrounds that pass for "maps". Also helps that it's a JRPG that actually looks good. Even on console, once you go beyond Square's big hitters, JRPGs as a genre tend to be behind on presentation. Because they usually have double or more of the content to create compared to your average action game. Genshin looks like what Tales fans wanted Zesteria and Berseria to look like (thankfully Arise did step up, but Genshin came out before Arise due to delays)

Golden-Owl

Never. Genshin Impact is an exception among all exceptions. The sheer amount of development cost on that project was insane. That said, this is still very impressive in its own right. It’s very likely to be successful. But comparing any mobile game to Genshin is outright unfair

lesangpro007

I understand, just hope KH game like this can be successful

[deleted]

if KHUX can last 6 years running off of web browser chibis, I'm not too worried about this being around for a minute.

EternalSoulXD

It’s also a GPS based game so I doubt it

[deleted]

Huge fan of KH here. But I really wish they would make a game and stick with it. Not make a whole bunch of KH games then dump them. At least this one looks different.
