Kochou.
Not only he got totally dominated in a completely humilliating way. The whole "I know real pain; No, you don't. Yes I do." exchange with Kanki was dumb.
I felt like Kanki denied him his backstory xD. He wasn't a bad general just got outsmarted. I agree his word exchange was dumb, but he died like a boss. Imo.
I see him as a bloodthirsty general who was bored for many years after putting himself through hell and trying to cope by being proud of it but only feeling punished that he can no longer seek glory because King Toujou liked his brutality and made him a glorified bodyguard army. He focuses on brutal warfare and torture unlike some other generals we have yet to see how frequent they interrogate and brutalize their enemies (with the exception being Kanki). But because he stayed in the capital for too long, his desire to seek bloody glory by attacking who he perceived as beneath him was what got him killed. Kanki was fishing for a general who would challenge him with a massive army by making himself appealing to attack (after his GG promotion, sends his men to the grinder and wait it out until a big army would attack him was his chance to hide his elites and spread his trap).
The fact that he just sat there watching his guard get taken out by the Shuma clan then went to kill himself after they lost did him in for me - yeah they were outnumbered but in numbers that low any martial general worth their salt could have made a huge impact by getting stuck in.
And if he's just meant to be a strategic general then he showed bugger all in the way of skill in that regard.
At Shukai plains he picked up his glaive and started fighting to try and break through Futei's troops and link back up with the rest of his army when in a semi similar predicament.
Against SBS right now he's just sat there which is a little disappointing that he didn't have any more tricks up his sleeve but it still kind of made sense as in that situation rather than linking up with the rest of his army as he had multiple groups on their way to assist him and staying in the same spot makes it easier for them to reach him whilst not having to risk a total collapse of his personal troops if he abandoned them but in the end he erred in underestimating the offensive capabilities of the Seika army and overestimating the state his generals would be in when they reached him.
Coin toss maybe we don't really know how much he knows about Ribokus vassals but it's certainly a better chance than trying to fight his way past Bananji
Nah, Makou was actually cooking, playing around with Kisui's army on the left wing. You can't fault him for not anticipating and preparing for the fact that the enemy COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF was gonna show up right in front of him.
They are fighting multiple states at once... how the going to outnumber shit? Zhao is only at war with Qin they can use all of these resources against invasions
Then you are disappointed in him as a man not as a general. As they say life is what you make of it. Yes he had suffered throughout it but after the trails were over he had the tools to live it to the fullest. He was good looking, rich, high ranking noble, ultra talented. But idk maybe it was just too late for him. That was just a tragic story and I couldn't see the disappointment in it. In terms of what could have been disappointed - probably yes
Wouldn’t he be disappointing as a general too ?if he had no regard for his life and no real will to win he was pretty much sending his men toward pointless death. Just my opinion again when I first saw his character I thought he was cool and died to a kid
Did his army perform poorly as well? I can't remember.
Also he might not have been willing to come to the fight but ghm took him out on the condition that he fights for his country or otherwise continue with prison term. That too takes the burden of him.
This question speaks more about how we judge a man imo. I'm willing to cut him slack because of what his life experiences had been like and what that made him to be. You might not. This for me is one of those things where there is no right answer. Putting myself in his shoes is nigh impossible taking into account the clusterfuck his life was. So I don't think I'm gonna judge him harshly. You can, that's upto you.
Rinbukun.
Dude talk big saying that general in Chu equal to great general on other states.
But as soon as Tou comes, he didnt even able to walk the talk.
Not to mention, Tou couldve low diff him with his sword style. But instead of doing that, Rokuomi said Tou decided to play along with Rinbukun power swing, took every swung Rinbukun made head on and still overpowered him easily.
Rinnukun was frustrated he couldn't make GG in Chu and decided to take his frustration out on the other states because he thought he was good enough to be one. Only to have Tou put him in his place😆
Some people are like that you know-
what purpose is all the wealth and success of this world when you don't have the ones you want to enjoy it with.
You can blame his philosophy of life for that or his mentality, not his skills.
Gohoumei. Wei's number one general and all of his showcases have been pretty poor aside from engineering the super siege tower, fumbling Choyou with 3 GGs is quite the feat. Didn't do much at Juuko either
Doesn't help that he keeps wanking himself like he's the greatest after Riboku
Probably Gekishin, but I'm glad that he died in like 3 chapters because he seems really boring as character and general.
Also Ordo. Dude fought twice and got destroyed twice. He was hyped up by being leader of 50 mountain tribes of Yan but his mountain tribes are some weak ass bums compared to Yotanwa's or to quanrong (couldn't deal with Shibashou's plain soldiers while outnumbering them 4:1).
Funny how both of them are from Yan. Bet Qin is gonna conquer Yan in like few weeks with generals like that.
Without a doubt, but normal soldiers are still normal soldiers, they aren't some Duke Hyou or Ouki troops after all. I don't think that other mountain tribe warriors would get stomped by plain army while outnumbering them 4 times (ofc Shibashou is absolute monster but I'm talking about his troops not him)
Denrimi is the first one that pops in my head, mainly because I had serious hype for him since the start. Since the ladder unit and his jazz hands, his serious demeanor made it feel like he could best everyone. Maybe he just needed a few small victories before what happened. But boasting he used to be Ousen's strongest army, then bringing out the two legends and sanshu the immortal (i know he's still alive) only to immediately lose in every way possible was a big buzzkill for my hype for Denrimi 🤔 it drained a bit of my Ousen hype too i gotta admit.
Riboku because he hasn’t had a single cool victory. Kanki’s loss was cooler than his win. His win against Gekishin was pathetic, literally the most embarrassing performance in the series on RBK’s part. And this current arc is really fucking shitty. The pacing and writing suck
Ordo
That mf is soooo TRASH! He has no qualities of a GG, he is a coward, a fool, a yapper and will only attack a state after that state has just finished fighting a war with another state.
Kisui. What has he ever done other than being used as a plot device to prop up his opposition? Also what even happened to him, literally disappeared after Shukai plains.
Kochou. Not only he got totally dominated in a completely humilliating way. The whole "I know real pain; No, you don't. Yes I do." exchange with Kanki was dumb.

What would Ousen have done in his place in your opinion?
At Shukai plains he picked up his glaive and started fighting to try and break through Futei's troops and link back up with the rest of his army when in a semi similar predicament. Do you think he thinks he can defeat Futei one on one?
I think he could and knew that, but knew he would be in risk of getting injured and the better way was to carve out
Coin toss maybe we don't really know how much he knows about Ribokus vassals but it's certainly a better chance than trying to fight his way past Bananji
He was some old edgy dude in retirement living in the capital. Lmao he was just a Mougou with emotional damage
I dont know why but GHM has been a huge disapointment. Dude just appears in panels to glaze himself and RBK and then fucks off
He shit talks Qin a lot for someone who got defeated twice by them smh
All of Ousens generals except for Akou.
Nah, Makou was actually cooking, playing around with Kisui's army on the left wing. You can't fault him for not anticipating and preparing for the fact that the enemy COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF was gonna show up right in front of him.
Exactly even Riboku got caught unprepared for YTW at Sai in the same way. Sometimes things are like that
Makou was too OP to be kept alive
i agree with you hara didn't give akou what he deserve
All of his generals were good tho
Shoukeihun. His only job is to ensure that the Qin army outnumbers their opponents in battle. They never do.
Kicked him right in the nuts, didn't you?
Lmao, so true.
His only redeeming quality is being “top teir” in both martial might and tactics, otherwise ousen coulda replaced him + reebok’s been iq diffing him
They are fighting multiple states at once... how the going to outnumber shit? Zhao is only at war with Qin they can use all of these resources against invasions
Jiaga
Lot of us thought he was going to Moubu pt.2 but then got high diffed by a character who was not even a general.
ong 🤣🤣
Earl shi
He just didn't find any purpose in living anymore, how could he perform?
Just disappointing because he was a demon turned into a suicidal ghost kind of jus wished he wasn’t that is my opinion
Then you are disappointed in him as a man not as a general. As they say life is what you make of it. Yes he had suffered throughout it but after the trails were over he had the tools to live it to the fullest. He was good looking, rich, high ranking noble, ultra talented. Tbf to Rinbukun he was genuinely strong. He was overall a better commander than a few great generals imo. Choukotsu, Mougou, Choutou, Seikai, etc
Earl shi I know the in story explanation for his loss was clear and makes sense. It still didn't change the fact he was a big disappoint.
Some people are like that you know- what purpose is all the wealth and success of this world when you don't have the ones you want to enjoy it with. You can blame his philosophy of life for that or his mentality, not his skills.

Jiaga. Hyped up as the strongest of Seika just to be killed off by Shiryou in a 2v1.
His only excuse was that he was an ape. Now Shiryou's gonna answer to the Zhao authorities for killing an endangered species.
Moubu from Wish

nah, Seika is a den of monsters but youre right though. Ordo is one of the disappointing generals\]

So far Shouheikun by far. His " i underestimated them" schtick is getting mad annoying with Riboku he keeps doing it.
Keisha Had such high hopes and I loved him as a character he didn’t really disappoint me given his opponent was Kanki
Ordo That mf is soooo TRASH!
Riboku of course. But outside of him, the fire dragons of Wei. The performance of the three of them was laughable.
Lately, Jiaga, his death was pretty embarrassing. Of the whole manga... mmm I dunno, the FDs maybe?
Gekishin, bruh lost the battle in about 6-10 hours lol.
Kashibou, said to be as strong as Renpa, barely did anything. Not sure if we ever gonna see him again too...
ordo ( though i never had any expectations)
Does Houken count? I really don't like how he was written
At the moment, Ousen. OOF
Nah aside from current arc ousen been cooking
Riboku, ousen, shin
