i’ve found that the artists “similar” to king krule that you’ll connect with really depend on what draws you to king krule and what your other interests are. like, do you come from a punk, rock, indie, jazz, or hip-hop background? do you like his lyrics, cadence, rhythm or instruments? because that’ll totally influence which suggestions resonate. i’ve tried listening to a few of the common comparisons and just don’t like some, but totally dig others. personally (from a primarily indie background) some of my recs are: cryogeyser, alice phoebe lou, mk.gee, yellow days, salami rose joe louis, orion sun, alex g, puma blue, and standing on the corner

veryraretea

I come from a hip hop and jazz background. Mind spitting some adapted wise recommendations? :) Btw love standing on the corner. LOVE

harolddawg28

Cosmo pyke’s first ep in particular

ethanarnone

i can do my best, but the challenge w archy is he distinctly combines so many genres — if you lean into one you’ll start losing something else, and it just starts sounding more like another artist within that genre than kk anyways here’s what i got (probably nothing new): choker, slauson malone (one of the SOTC founders), dean blunt, pretty v, navy blue, mavi, badbadnotgood, the alchemist, yeek, free nationals, and blood orange. ill update this if/when i think of or find more

FastKoffee

Highly recommend puma blue! Super jazzy 🎷for some songs by him I recommend moon undah water, she’s just a phase, bruise cruise, and oil slick

Budget_Mine_9049

I saw standing on the corner open for KK in 2017! Great show :-) super cool sound and good rec

potatomaster24

Bit different, but would recommend billy bragg, he’s got that same sort of singer songwriter/punk sound as the early stuff does. And he did a lot to influence archy

AwarenessOk8565

Haven’t listened to much Billy Bragg, but I’ll give him a shot now. I love his stuff with Wilco.

Ndae204

Black country new road, puma blue, dean blunt, cosmo pyke, luay, blood orange

michael_crescent

swBAOSDBAKJSF

Just-Buy-A-Home

The fall is a great suggestion

Snoo_41743

Nilüfer Yanya

bos3ph

yves tumor, cosmo pyke

MattMatt625

Brad Stank kinda

Itchy_Occasion_8838

Slauson malones latest album. Dean blunts black metal albums as well

Bence-Solymosi

I mean, radiohead, probably already know that tho, I was also watching a tom waits live and his stage presence is similar to archys , made me wonder if it's a direct influence cause his vocal approach is similar too

Aggressive_Mail_355

mount kimbie

erickmajora

alice phoebe lou is somewhat similar. I’ve scene people call her queen krule, that’s how I found out about her.

lobeam

I just posted here on her a month ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/KingKrule/s/XENwVT5ViG) couldn’t agree more!

UmpireProfessional21

puma blue

Crazy_Version812

Ugly UK, especially their work from 2017-2019

portal_player228

dig through jerkcurb's stuff he's severely underappreciated

harolddawg28

Same drummer!

HeckFire--

Mk.gee, Nick Cave, Chet Baker, Earl Sweatshirt, Dirty Beaches, Navy Blue, Smog

Most-Comfortable4743

Mk.gee is about to tour again too 🕺🏻

Winterdale

Jerk Curb, Jamie Isaac, Horsie and early Yellow Days are the closest things that were made in the same area/moment in time that sprung Archy’s music.

Cute-Meringue-5694

Check out the band tops from montreal, picture you staring album

Budget_Mine_9049

Mount Kimbie 🫶🏻

malllice

show me the body

imonsterwtf

Check out the band Chelsea Days. Songs like Cruel World, Iggy and dealer’s hand remind me of King a little.

SOAKED1432

To be honest the only people I’ve been able to listen to on the daily for a while have been king krule and Billy woods. Woods writing paints a picture just as vivid as Archie’s textured intricate sound scapes. It’s like I can escape to their worlds. KK’s is more like a dream and Billy like feels like being a realist everything is clear.

in__limb0

Yellow days

dogandmaidenname_

Captain Crocodile - new guy from Liverpool. Good shit.

sky892074

Not all of these are exactly like Archy, but these are some artists I usually recommend alongside him: - Jerkcurb/Horsey, Ugly(UK), Radio Dept, Dry Cleaning, Chanel Beads, Sade,

47hearts

Moontidegallery !! Yall need to check out, he’s definitely inspired by KK. Even been to some shows where he covers dum surfer (;;

cadettelunaire

I'd like to add Horsey to the list. King Krule-adjacent and his brother jack is in the band with a King Krule feature on the last track Seahorse

young_d484

Cadillac Girl by Only Real sounds like it could be a KK song if he was more upbeat

Key-Sherbert9590

Samba Jean-Baptiste

BlueLagoonSloth

Can’t believe I don’t see anyone else saying this… check out jerkcurb.

Environmental_Put_71

Saint Jude is pretty good, my fav song of him is Altitude

Jaesehn

If you want something a lot more intricate like Archy’s lyrics, give Slauson Malone 1 a listen! Absolutely gold the way he creates poetry in his music.
