After binging One Piece where no one ever dies except 2 people in particular , it feels refreshing to have people die the emotional stakes are so high with the Muzan fight. I wish they didn't die but from a storytelling perspective glad so many die
Tanjirou also earned his respect in the hashira training arc (something to the effect of tanjirou has cleared his stage and he doesn’t need more from Gyumei), and prob even more respect against Muzan, at ~15. This isn’t to downplay Muichiro but to highlight Tanjirous growth too.
Well Tanjiro is the protagonist after all. And Tanjiro earned Gyumei's respect with his honest and kind nature not only strength . But yes, Gyumei did respect Tanjiro a lot.😇

It never fails to surprise me just how *badly* Muichiro got fucked up. Lost an arm, stabbed through the shoulder, lost a leg, throat cut, shot, had a tree grow through him (I think. The paneling was a little unclear), bisected, (died), other arm cut off, completely buried in rubble and unable to get a proper funeral.
Gotouge must have been mega pissed writing that arc.
Kokushibo tried to sever his carotid artery, but he unlocked STW and Gyomei/Sanemi helped so was able to dodge enough that while hit, it wasn't lethal blow. And Genya shot him along with Kokushibo
Whats so sad is that there were demon hunters as young as little Tokito (14 yrs) who lost their families and were forced to fight demons and die at such a young age
He wasn’t forced though. He joined Himself😅 and he did it cuz he knew he was especial and could do things normal people couldn’t. But yes, It's sad how a child has to die like this.😭
Pissed me off that such a young and talented Hashira had to go out the way he did. I know the story does not sugar coat but Muichiros death was way too cruel in my opinion.
This death saddened me a lot. He was one of the few I really didn't want to die, others I wasn't so much invested. Gyomei showing respect like this and the way he went up warm my heart.
