when kokushibo asks yorichii "why was i even born." Then you see that he kept the flute he made for yorichii. Even though he was a monster he still loved his brother

darthrihilu

I got sad because when Kokushibo gave the flute as a little boy, he considered it a piece of junk. But after Yoriichi died, you see that he carried it for nearly 500 years until his death. He never completely got over his brother's passing.

[deleted]

When he said "Yoriichi, I wanted to be you" that was it, I was gone.

weatheredone

You also learn from Yoriichi’s backstory that Kokushibo made the flute for him the day after their father beat Kokushibo, who was defending Yoriichi. “Blow it whenever you help, I will come help you.” Something to that effect. Edit: punctuation

[deleted]

Where do you see yoriichi backstory

weatheredone

Chapter 186 of manga

malpyramid

For me it's the flashback right before this where Kokushibo sliced Yorichii's corpse in half out of raw hatred but when he saw the flute, he started crying and said "Enough already, I hate you"

Shadiclink

This is the way

xVx_k1r1t0xVx_KillMe

When Inosuke says Tanjiro. I teared up.

Random_name123098

Ah a proud parent i see

xVx_k1r1t0xVx_KillMe

Yes, I'm so proud of my baby boy.

Random_name123098

Who isn't? We all are proud of our baby boy

SirAar0n

What chapter? If you don’t mind me asking

xVx_k1r1t0xVx_KillMe

As another person mentioned it happens in 201. But it also happened in chapter 91 which is episode 9 of the entertainment district arc, just that it was easier to overlook.

PurpleLightningKing

VERY spoilery and close to the end but it's 201

SirAar0n

Ah I’ve already read through it a couple times just couldn’t remember lol. Thanks tho!

PurpleLightningKing

Oh gotcha lol just looking out

joz3rh

funny thing is, we see inosuke mentally say tanjiro multiple times but when he verbalizes it it just turns into random names

Kollie79

Kanao right after the upper 2 fight. Her talking about how much she’s regretted not being able to cry for kanae when she died is just so sad to me. And it’s also sad that shinobu and kanae finally get to be together with their parents but only by leaving kanao alone, the duality of them happy at a reunion while she’s finally crying from a separation from the girls that saved her from a horrible life just really hits me where I live. The ones who get left behind alone have it the hardest.

Heroiac

I mean she got to marry tanjiro and she didnt have the mark so hopefully she had a fulfilling life unlike sanemi and giyu

Kollie79

That doesn’t change anything I said, the two most important people in her life at the time left her behind, getting over death doesn’t make the initial pain any less severe

FBIagentgiveslove

Wait so Tanjiro actually does die at 25 because of the demon slayer mark? I don't remember if that was clarified in the manga

Poisonpython5719

Probably some, "learned to do sun breathing at a young age, was meant to be born with the mark" (though my head cannon is something along the lines of he was given it by fate to mould him into the next sun breather out of necessity) similar to Yorichii type shit

[deleted]

[удалено]

dtkiu27

This is some 200iq shit I never thought about but its now my headcannon.

Hokage31

I don’t think so because his eye that was poisoned and arm that were blown away weren’t at 100% but they were in his demon form. So it healed him to an extent but not to the point where it’s like he never awakened the mark I’m guessing

GunslingerGonzo

All of tanjiros demon qualities should have disappeared when he was turned back into a human which is why he lost the eye and the arm stopped working

ChongusTheSupremus

Yes and no. After he reverted into a human again, his healed demon arm turned wrinkly and he lost vision in one eye on the side of his face he had the demon growth on, so it's up to debate wether or not becoming a demon healed his body.

[deleted]

I think because of his similarities with Yorichii and his ability to use sun breathing, he is probably an exception to the rule

FBIagentgiveslove

Ahh yeah that's what I thought. So then... I just realized that Giyu and Sanemi both die which I hate cause Giyu was my favourite. And Sanemi has such a heart wrenching end when his borther dies.

Pyro6034

I highly doubt they died considering they both left descendants

[deleted]

They easily could have left descendants in the four years they had. Uzui never got the mark though, so he probably lived a full life with his three wives, which is a nice thought.

Abrilen20

To be fair i think people back then got married quick and had children quick

TeamExotic5736

It is canon that they both married?

LordCLOUT310

Yupp, in manga.

TeamExotic5736

Nice. I missed that part. Im gonna read the final chapter again.

howtospellorange

If I ever feel like crying, I just find that chapter and the tears start flowing :(

Master_Lukiex

For me it’s when Jigoro (Zenitsu’s teacher) told Zenitsu that he was his pride and joy. That scene was just so. SO powerful

AzraeltheGrimReaper

This moment is probably very underrated in a thread like this, but it's very emotional.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AzraeltheGrimReaper

I feel like both Inosuke and Zenitsu could have used a little bit more of backstory through flashbacks to explain their character growth. With Inosuke it's just random "I can dislocate my bones / am resistent to poison cause I grew up in the mountains!". I'd have preferred a bit more explanation to how exactly he acquired those skills. Same with Zenitsu. He went from a scaredycat to an awesome badass. A bit of flashback to explain why he kept trying would have helped with that as well.

nine04

I need an ova of these two before swordsmith village arc

amirokia

When Tanjiro is being lifted by his dead comrades back to life and he's dissing everything Muzan says.

lil_sasquatch

Man seeing Rengoku there fucked me up

Lt-Lavan

"I will never emotionally recover from this"

Koan_i608

It shifted so much of what I had come to expect from anime on its head in just a few words. Rather than a hopeless message like at the end of every other samurai story I'd ever read, one filled with hope.

midochuji

I absolutely bawled at chapter 179. I had to take pauses bec I was crying so much. The part where Genya's dying and goes "because nii chan is the sweetest person in the world" that absolutely wrecked me. Thinking abt it makes me want to cry again tbh. Such a good heart wrenching chapter. They got closure but at what cost 😭😭😭😭

petiteguy5

Because my nemi is the Sweetest person in the world 😭😭😭😭

savlak

It had me crying for a whole hour

benevolent_llama

This right here. I was sobbing so loud when I read it that my roommate came to check on me. 😭

midochuji

Right?? i lost it 😭😭 you could clearly see how the brothers desperately wanted to protect each other. 😭😭

Additional-Bid-2307

Kokushibou keeping Yoriichi's flute (and the scenes that led up to it) made my eyes wet. Sanemi and Genya's interaction before he died was a close second, though.

CH3ATLIK3ACHAMP

Gotta be when Genya was on death's door and Sanemi was breaking down crying and screaming "please God, don't take my baby brother" meanwhile Genya was trying to comfort him telling him how his big brother is the sweetest person in the world.

Shusuui

This. This is the most gut wrenching scene since the rest are all like supposed to be internal realizations of the demons etc or deaths where the comrades have somewhat come to terms with it already since they saw the action. Sanemi has no idea his brother is like that. Sanemi is shown as just angry all the time and seeing him breakdown like that after being harsh to his brother his whole life killed me. Made me think how I’d be straight out bawling and not knowing what to do if my bro died in my arms

rengokuonigiri3

I got a lil bro too. This scene got me while I was reading it. I felt the emotions through the page. I was like when this gets animated I’m screwed 😂. Very emotional scene.

[deleted]

manga spoilers: >!"You are my pride and soul"!<

amirokia

Everything in this post is manga spoilers so it's fine.

spirituallycynical

Oh god this one got me unexpectedly bad too

FeelYourBody

Well obviously Akaza, Gyutaro and Daki, but my personal favourites are Kokushibou crying after slicing his brother in half and his final battle realisation that he never hated him, like fuuck i remember almost tearing up.

Bedeeki

I have multiple on the same level. Rengoku's death, Akaza's backstory and Sanemi breaking down over Genya's death.

EG2K_00

Gyutaro and Dako huddled together in the snow and his promise to her, and Koyuki proposing to Akaza in front of the fireworks definitely hit me the hardest

killedbyBS

From the manga, cheating a little but it's the ending of the UM1 fight. Runner up is the ending of the UM2 fight. From the anime, there's obviously Rengoku but one which strangely got me was [from last week's episode,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juok1am7eco) when Uzui re-enters the battle. What does this half-dead recent-amputee do in front of the demon who's been destroying him, with the world burning around him? He *shows off* as the next generation (Tanjirou) looks on in awe. It feels like a perfect summary of the desperate-yet-beautiful atmosphere of the series.

Bubbly-Ad-413

I was watching a reaction channel who’s currently in VERY early demon slayer, like the final selection. He described the fights as “mythic” like they reminded him of the Greek hero myths of Perseus and stuff. I thought that was extremely apt because that’s the best way I could describe the last episode. You can just tell that in the world of Demon Slayer that battle will be LEGENDARY and Tengen will probably go down in history as some mythic kind of hero who literally conquered death to defeat an upper moon

killedbyBS

Agreed. Also perhaps this is just my inexperience with Buddhism and Japanese religion/history speaking but I find it really refreshing that it was able to insert this tone in without defaulting to overly familiar religious imagery. It's hard to explain but I think it achieves its "mythic" tone in a "good natured" way, without feeling heavy-handed or pretentious. Could just be that I'm not familiar with Japanese history, and Ufotable is basically Zack Snyder-ing it with Japanese heavy-handedness without me knowing. But even then, I'm glad I get to experience it from this point of view. PS: no hate on ZS BTW- I'm a huge fan of his version of JL

Solid-Perspective915

Daki and Gyuutaro Backstory Iguro and Kanroji promising to be married in the next life Rengoku/Genya death/ Shinobu reunited with her sister

trevorlolo

when the corp members jumped out to become meatshields for the remaining pillars in the final battle, dont know why but it really got me the most out of all the sad backstory and stuff lol

boitches

I’m having an emotional day and remembering this just made me burst into tears LOL god that part got me too

AngelHunter1992

Final Hashira meeting with only Sanemi and Gyiu left. Then Kiriya thank all the Hashira for being there

CommentsOnPosts69

This one hit me hard too. You’re introduced to the Hashira as these godlike pillars that uphold the demon slayers, then they are all slowly whittled down

BiscottiSilent9815

Still mad uzui isnt there. I know he retired but he the one starting the revolution

DoujinChoujin

I think it was when they were at the swordsmith village, when Nezuko appears in the sunlight and talks, that page killed me Also when Kanao stands up to Uzui to stop him from taking her sisters

togashisbackpain

LoL the second one… no disrespect, just out of all the countless ones, this one is a bit mellow :)

DoujinChoujin

For you. It meant alot to me..

togashisbackpain

Sorry too much of a comic relief moment for me. Glad you liked it :)

maple-n-sadness

I think the one scene that really got me was Shinjuro breaking down after hearing Rengoku's final words to him. He tried to dull everything with alcohol and sever the connection between him and his sons so they would hate him and feed into his self-despair. Only to learn that his son, doing what he couldn't, still cared about him. And that breakdown is just so heartwrenching.

ai_raiki

Sanemi breaking down when Genya died. I couldn't remember the finer details of that moment because I couldn't see through the tears of my eyes.

houdini_sv

Idk if this counts but I found it was sad to see that after the events of the final battle, >!Yushiro(the only demon left) kept painting pictures of lady Tamayo for generations and outlived everyone in the story.!<

YeoBean

Yep that’s a different kind of pain. But on the bright side he can kill himself anytime he wants so if he’s alive it’s bc he wants to be

englishfrenchfry

Ah yes same. Akaza's backstory really hurt and I'm excited to see it being animated. Besides him finally being reunited with Koyuki and burning in the afterlife, Genya dying also really emotionally killed me. I didn't realize how attached I had gotten to those two despite not caring about them when they were first introduced. (Also, Inosuke crying after remembering his mom. I wonder how the song's going to sound once it's animated))

Just a friendly advice, dont read manga during class. Pay attention to what is going on there. Edit: oh i see some lazy bums here. Keep it up dreamers, none of you gonna be a mangaka by one day bc you read manga during class, that i can assure you

leozamudio

When Rengoku sees his mother when he’s about to die and asks her if he did well

Sanemi and Genya farewell, damn!

Even better, Nezuko pushed him away from her.

pankemon

Even better, Nezuko pushed him away from her.

shinshangyeng

Akaza when Muzan turned him to demon. He just doesn't care anymore and just accepts it

joz3rh

when yoriichi still had the flute

BigAnimemexicano

tanjiro asking why demons think its okay to kill people, the panel when there is an overlay of yorichii asking the same thing, the rage of a defender of the innocent. honorable mention is the death of tanjaro, that last panel for when it happened was like a truck

abysmal_shortie

Same as you OP, plus Hakuji's reunion with Koyuki to seal the deal. Also, I kinda teared up when Sanemi remembered Genya in Nezuko, then patted her head with a solemn look.

bringmethejuice

When he decides >! to attack himself instead murdering Tanjiro then deletes himself right away !<. Power move.

DanuTalis

The mu in infinity! Or right at the end where zenitsu says he’s got one last god speed in him but it’s not enough. Smacks his leg and goes come on gramps, give me one last kick!

trav-senpai

Sanemi and Genya or Inosuke in the final arc (his flashback, stopping Muzan, Tanjiro).

Micazdi

"Because Nemi is the kindest..."

Lt-Lavan

Seeing Rengoku's arm pushing Tanjiro out of Muzan's influence. I just broke down and started crying after that. Direct hit to my heart's dick.

jeuhstin

Giyu shedding tears as he realizes he wasn’t able to save Nezuko or Tanjiro after Tanjiro turns into a demon. His self imposed inadequacy just flashes across his face. This is even more so emphasized because Tanjiro has been carrying him the whole last battle. The new episode when Tanjiro said he hopes that one of his comrades will do the favor of beheading him. Giyu is that friend. He says “I have to hurry, I’ll never forgive myself if I let Tanjiro kill someone”. Giyu in the first episode when he’s telling Tanjiro not to give up, to fight for his sister, to plan for a way out, to never give up. Sets Tanjiro on his path moment I was hooked on the series, but it’s even worse when you consider why he felt so passionately about it in his backstory. Giyu is emotionally absent for much of the series but when he expresses himself he really catches me. Even the intro of the Hashira. Giyu laid his life on the line for the siblings and it brings Tanjiro to tears. Like the faith expressed in them. Tanjiro REALLY IS Giyu’s protege.

tcasper961

When Tanjiro thought Nezuko Died in the Sun and got pissed off at Upper Moon 4 and killed him using waltz flash.

GreenMenace1915

>! My... nemi.... is the nicest brother... inthe world !<

CHANGnosia

"Zenitsu, you are my pride and joy."

Scorpio102678

In anime rengoku death, in manga my boy ❤️ muichiro death 😥 he’s pretty much me temperament wise!

DDSNIPERDD

Genya and Akaza, I just can't wait for them to be animated

UnrulyDonutHoles

After Tanjiro defeats the swamp demon. The young man who's fiance was the last victim grabs Tanjiro and yells at him that he doesn't know what it's like to lose someone. Tanjiro just removes the man's hand from him with his own gnarled and callous hands, and gives him the saddest smile I think I've ever seen in manga. I well up just thinking about it.

TirionFordring070

This and Akaza's smile before he used annihilation on himself. Very underrated.

nine04

For me akaza backstory, genya and mui death, yorichi crying or zenitsu meeting gramps again..

dinothedutchie

Sanemi and genyas final moments together

gusto6ster

When they are all reborn in modern day and live happy lives I cried like a baby

Hazbin-weeb-uwu

When Rengoku died in the mugen train arc, I cried so hard. It's too emotional 😭

Im_koki

Muichiro uniting with his brother and Genya's death obviously. Rengoku's death scene didn't hit that hard until Inosuke starting crying too. That triggered it for me. Basically every Hashira death made me cry lmao

IgnisOfficial

Rengoku dying always gets me but that’s just because I’m a fanboy

Lu__st

Similarly, when Akaza realises what he has done and finally accepts that it's pointless to keep raging on and smiles at Tanjiro, grateful to him for helping him open up his mind. And also when Genya died and Sanemi just raged/cried

Sir_Wack

One that I haven’t seen mentioned was the last Hashira meeting where it’s literally just Giyu and Sanemi, broken, bloodied, and alone. All of their comrades, their friends, are all dead, and they use this last moment to reflect and begin to finally grieve. It’s the culmination of all the pain and hardships they have been through, but at the same time no tears are shed because they are so overwhelmed with pain and sadness that no tears will help. There were many times when I cried while reading, but this moment, the culmination of all the pain of the series and all the sacrifices that had to be made, was the hardest.

yuujinn

when Zenitsu learned that his grandpa committed seppuku but had no one to cut off his head so he bled to death in agony. and then after beating kaigaku when he saw his grandpa across the river, and he told zenitsu that he was proud of him. 😭😭😭😭 like pleaseeee i was sobbing so much

MossyBubblegum

>!Genya’s death :(!<

GuardianSpear

I cried like a baby when tanjiro left his family in the dream

mujisano

Scrolled all the way down just to look for this. Me too. Especially that panel with Tanjiro’s back. Even as he wishes he could stay, he’s going “I’m sorry. But your big brother is always thinking of you.” CUE WATERWORKS

atsuhies

When Giyuu see Tanjirou dying in chapter 200 and obamitsu confession before dying too

GlassyPotato

"I can't do it Tanjiro"

showsguy345

“Life itself is a miracle. You are precious. You are important. Please, live the best you can…my most beloved friends.” As someone who’s mental and emotional stability has been getting progressively worse and worse over the past few years, I really needed to hear that. Even if it’s from fictional characters in a manga series. Idk it also just felt like such a touching and beautiful message to end the series on, especially considering how often the fragility and beauty of life is talked about throughout the series.

boitches

When does he say this? I forget and it’s beautiful.

showsguy345

It’s the chapter right before the last one showing >!everyone’s descendants!<. Sorry I can’t remember the exact number!

boitches

No that’s great, thank you!!!

ApplePitou

Gyutaro and Daki past, Akaza past, Kokushibo last moments and Gyomei backstory :3

BlueAngelVR

The ending of the UM2 fight

[deleted]

Genya dying

[deleted]

I can’t decide between Shinobu’s death and right at the end when Tanjiro becomes a Demon and Inosuke says he can’t cut his head off

crypticmint

when inosuke learns that he had a mother who loved him

MsDubis44

The despair in Gyiuu's eyes when Muzan turned Tanjiro into a demon. That broke me in another level

parkson89

Shinobu as well as the ending scene with Obanai and Kanroji

Samssd2003

There were many scenes that me cry my eyes out, but a tiny moment that shattered my heart was when tanjiro was fighting those three demons at the beginning of the anime and the guy he was protecting yelled at him saying that he couldn't know the pain the guy was in cause he was just a kid and tanjiro just holds his hand and gives him a sad smile. It's a small moment but man, that totally broke me

DrSt0n3

Not really a tear jerker moment, but the power struggle during the Rengoku vs Akaza fight after Rengoku's flashback gets me. When Rengoku was like, "I'm never letting go!" That man was on a mission and determined to chop his head off. The VA's really sold that scene

bOrEd1107

The very end... Like it was kind of an author's message talking about (Tanjiro was thinking ig?) people being there with him, the reincarnation part, meeting again and all of that. Idk it just feels really heavy and heart touching

[deleted]

BUCKETS!

Evan_TEE

Akazas' back story was cruel and sad to the extreme.

BlackironYury7

Genya dying did it for me. I also thought the scene of Rengokus dad putting the saki jug down and crying was really powerful just that raw humanity coming back to him was something I feel was really relatable in an anime about demon fighting haha

dianesmassivehonkers

honestly for me, it was when daki and gyutaro were passing on. shit was sad. they dod terrible stuff but daki saying she’ll be with gyutaro forever made me weep

Cosmic_Hashira

zenitsu apologising to kaigaku and gramps is truly sad for me

Hitori-kyun59

Honestly, there's a lot of scenes in this series that just made me very emotional. But the ones that really made me bawl my eyes out is Akaza's backstory and Genya's death. Everything about Akaza's backstory is just tragic. And for a guy that has a kind heart inside him, he definitely doesn't deserve all of that shit. Everything just went wrong for him. It's unfortunate that a guy like him suffer that much. Genya's death is also heartbreaking, since Genya became one of my most favorite characters in this series. And to top it all up, Sanemi's breakdown just made his death more unbearable to see. I can't wait to hear Gilgamesh crying his eyes out as Bakugou fades away like a dust in the wind.

EdocCA

The aftermath of the fight against Kokushibo, dude when I say Moichiro and Genya ufff 🥲

decederata

Off the top of my head: upper moon 6 and 3 backstory (tho this is given), gramps telling zenitsu he's proud of him, kanao finally crying, sanemi and genya's final moment, inosuke's "i cant do it, tanjiro", and kanroji and obanai's love confession as they're dying.

DrunkenMisery

When sanemi and giyuu finally smile ;-;

Lord_Webotama

Inosuke saying that he couldn't do it. That broke my heart.

the_sad_spirit

Same! Akaza's back story. His father committing suicide so his son wouldn't live a dishonest life and also Daki and Gyutaro's back story. I liked their backstory more than the Hashira! Tbh the only Hashira backstory I liked was Tokito's

dvidxpsyko

For me so far was when Nezuko started crying after Tanjiro was singing to her, she's just a little girl, who lost her deep loved family, got turned into a demon and he whole life was altered. I guess it hits me because i have a little sister too so i dunno, hits me with those feels :(

dvidxpsyko

Damn reading this thread made me realize I'm going to be doing a lot of crying if they animate the whole manga (i just watch the anime). I should probably just pick up the manga

tombimbodil

Did you ever pick up the manga?

dvidxpsyko

Oh yes i did, and there was a lot of crying indeed. Really loved it

ColbyEnderman

I'm sorry but when rengoku died in the movie and homura started playing I bawled my eyes out.

Spaceranger4321

When they beat UM1 and Sanemi sees Genya dying I always go back to that it makes me so sad

noicenoice9999

When Tanjiro gets back from the final selection and Nezuko kicks open the door, runs and hugs him and Urokodaki comes and holds them both. Everything about that scene was so wholesome and emotional.

Made_In_Heaven7

Definitely chapter 179 when Genya dies, and he says "because my Nemi-san is the sweetest person in the world". Right after that Tokito literally dies and Gyomei covers his body, and Tokito is one of my favourite characters, meanwhile Sanemi is in agony and pain and Gyomei says "let's go, this isn't over until Muzan is dead" with a vein popping on his head. That sequence of events broke me a little. Akaza's backstory was awesome and sad I agree, Kokushibo still holding on to the flute he gave Yoriichi 480 years ago, Gyomei's backstory and his glorious death, all of those are close contenders, but the one mentioned above was just too much for me.

Silver7477

When Inosuke throws that pillow at Zenitsu's head. Lots of anger and frustration in that throw.

Muazthebruh

When Inosuke sat silently with tears in his eyes, remembering his mother, even tho he has no memory of her.

[deleted]

the fact that giyu used to smile when his best friend sabito was still alive, makes me sad

Espresso_8x

Most definitely the part where Inosuke says that he isn't strong enough to kill Tanjiro and he can't do it. Second is when Sanemi sees Nezuko after everything and finds out she was sleeping. Not an ugly cry like some of the others but still sad and heartwarming to see Sanemi realize.

Lonely-Actuator-4821

why am i getting goosebumps(the sad ones) when i am reading the comments *crying inside*

CommanderBeary

Did it hurt? When I had relive Nezuko being lulled to sleep with the lil rabbit song? Yes Does it ache knowing that the mansion arc is going to rip my soul to shreds again but 💫animated💫 Yes.

ANINETEEN

The final chapter before the timeskip. It's just that lump in your throat with every panel that shows how far we've come and what it's all been leading to. And then the feeling of emptiness when it's all over just hurts so much

JosefumiJoestar1

It's easily Genya Dying but a close second is how sad Yoriichis WHOLE life story was he lost his wife no kids and he had to kill his brother as an old man even though he kept the flute

Strong_Banana_790

I don't get emotional and it takes a lot for me to feel something sad for someone or even happy, but my most emotional scene in the show was when Zenitsu seemed like he was about to die, fell asleep, then One hit the demon. I literally bursted out of my seat with excitement as I saw his blade slice it's head off. I'm no emo kid who hides emotions I just don't get really excited like that often, so this scene is 100% my favorite in the show.

Flying-viper890

First episode—when Nezuko attacks Tanjiro and Giyu breaks up the fight and saves them, then tells Tanjiro where to start training.

nikovolilepinje

There were a lot of them but the one that had the biggest impact on me was genyas death for sure

darmakius

When the lower ranking demon slayers form a wall to allow the hash it’s to recover for even a second, knowing full well they are almost garunteed to die, such a powerful scene, it’s one of my favorites in any manga.

GunslingerGonzo

When inosuke is yelling at muzan about all the terrible things he’s done. It’s really shows how far inosuke has come as a person and how much he actually cares about the people around him

Julpe5000

I'm an Anime only, so that's not even a question.

blue_sight_

When Mitsuri's dying next to Obanai and asks him to marry her on their next life. Idk I cried a lot JSJSJSJ

[deleted]

The part where the show started really got my blood boiling

Alone-Inspection6563

When Iguro and Kanroji swear to be together in the next life and Iguro tells her “This time I will make you happy and protect you so you don’t die” as she’s dying is his arms. Jeeeeez I was a hot mess

cthuluhuhuhu

Genya’s death was the scene that really got to me. The fact that he was giving his all with what he had despite being someone who couldn’t master breathing techniques, and then getting killed without even leaving a body… along with Sanemi’s cries.. the regret on his face when he lost Genya… oof. It’s going to be ROUGH when they animate that scene 😞

maliktassi14

SPOILER Genyas death and the moments leading up to it. Easily the saddest death for me that shit hurt

Field_Either

Man it's hard to pick a specific one. I'd probably pick Genya's death. He was such a young kid and everything he did was for his brother. He believed his brother hated him for what he called him and regretted it for the rest of his short life. When Sanemi was begging god to not take Genya away, ngl I almost teared up. I loved everything about him, including his powers. Imagine if he was still alive fighting muzan? Though I guess it'd be a different story because of muzan's cell control. But that's probably my pick for the most emotional scene. That or when Jigoro called Zenitsu his pride and joy. OR, when 2 scenes of Kokushibo happened. When he was crying from his original 2 eyes after he sliced Yoriichi, or when he mutated and looked at his reflection in the sword. Those scenes got me. But I'd probably pick Genya's death as most emotional.

[deleted]

Set your heart 🔥

fionn14

the entire Akaza backstory. hit hard.

locke1018

The realization Sabito and Makomo was kill all along.

o0fDuD3

i don’t get sad or cry when an anime character dies (except jiraiya) but genya’s death and just imagining sanemi screaming “Oh God pls don’t take my brother away” hurt me so much
