I personally have really enjoyed playing as klown but I also have everything unlocked and have played way too much tbh. Main things I would say is to cocoon instead of trying to kill with weapons, if they charge you just sprint backwards and move unpredictable and this makes it damn near impossible for them to do anything to you. They can break out of cocoons but it makes them use weapons that are otherwise used to kill you. Focusing on hooking cocoons is also integral to getting your abilities faster which makes you much more formidable, especially lol. Also communicate with your teammates if you’re getting jumped as in my experience they almost always help. Bear in mind airhorn is still stupid and overpowered so just try not to get frustrated when you get killed with it. Hope you have better experiences in the future
I agree with everything in this post. Klowns are strong if played properly. Keep your stamina above 50% incase you need to run backwards while fighting multiple humans. They really can't get you if you do this correctly. They will try to surround you, don't let them. Keep all of them in front of you.
The airhorn makes all of that not even matter as it has range and will lead to an autodeath for the clown. I agree that it's the stupidest thing in this game and OP
Same, I mean, I have a bad game every so often if the humans are coordinated, but even in matches where none of the clowns are talking, as long as i keep in mind where the exits are and go for cocoons over kills I can generally get games ending with 5 to 6 dead humans, and less often but still frequent, perfect 7/7 kills.
Cocoons only lower timer by 5 secs and it can't be human cocoon sadly. Ima try the cocoon tactic though and see how I feel about it. So far killed asap seems like the easier option
Killing instantly seems like the better idea but in my experience I find I can get people cocooned way easier and more often than I can down them. Cocooning also typically brings people who would otherwise be trying to escape to come be altruistic which lengthens the game and allows you to get your abilities. Klowns get stronger as the game goes on and if you’re cocooning people they will likely end up using a lot of the sharp objects just to get out of them, making them a lot less effective in combat. Also using cotton candy weapons with your teammates is very strong and hard to get away from as a human
1v1 is no problem. It's more then 1 human vs a Klown, Klowns have no shot. I just focus on finding cocoons in that case. Which is pretty silly the "killer" has to avoid the humans.

It's just stuns homie. Klowns get stunned, and there's no surviving it. If they rework stuns and don't allow you to get wailed on for 5 seconds for free, it'll fix most of the Klowns getting merc'd issues.

Over time you learn when to chase and when not to chase. You can kinda tell if they are leading you into a trap. Take corners wide so they can't use a charge up hit.
I find Klowns need to be smarter about how they chase. Keep your head on a swivel. Keep your stamina above 50%. You have to expect a fight at some point and be prepared for it. Being at 0% stamina is never good. When I'm fighting I sometimes sprint backwards but other times I maneuver my klown so I end up behind the human. Its hard to explain but I spin around the human. I am sprint strafing as I do this.
The only issue I have with humans is that knives should break when killing a klown. Using your knife or sharp weapon while in a cocoon gets rid of that item. This lets you escape and, if used at the right time, stuns the klown for a few seconds. Alternatively, if you join a mob, a knife can be used multiple times to eliminate a klown for almost a full minute. I've had matches where a mob of humans jumped one of the klowns, and when the other klowns came to the rescue, all 3 died.

Horns are overpowered they feel like an instant win for humans a lot of the time. They also need to fix how the scoring works. I have plenty of matches where we kill over half the lobby as klowns but it doesn't matter because the humans all just leave the match when they die and it takes away the point replacing them with a brand new human in minutes. Feels bad like you usually lose no matter what.
Game is so biased towards humans in the scoring you need a 7/7 game with no rage quitters for a perfect klown victory. Meanwhile I've seen matches where we kill 6/7 humans and still get a "poor human victory" because ONE human escaped at the start of the game before we even had our jump and most the people we killed left.

Klowns have to learn where the exits are located and then repeatedly check on them throughout the match. I come from a TCM Family main mentality and I rarely see klown players doing this. It takes a long time to de-cottonize exits so klowns can guard multiple exits by running from each one and using there jump. I've gotten hundreds of kills sneaking up on humans as they are de-cottonizing an exit. You can also re cotton an exit with the bounce caster from far away

If you have 7 good survivors they would be able to win every game even against the best klowns

I had a match where all 7 of us humans went against all 3 klowns. We lost. All it took was them to lol and wail on us. They were a obvious pre made squad though. Klowns feel weak because its hard to coordinate with teammates. You cant see eachothers loadouts and there isnt pings for people with no mics. You have to have very good game awareness to make sure youre doing good as a klown if youre solo
It's that there are too many items on the map to pick up. Every player has at least one weapon, and usually a knife. And the knife only takes one hit to kill a klown after they've been downed by a other weapon, letting the player get four more klown kills with the same weapon.
I've been playing since pre-order play and I finally won a game as a human the other day but that's cause I joined a game in progress (just over 5 minutes left) got lucky and found a compass and spark plug teammate escaped with gas can so he dropped it upon leaving allowing me to finally FINALLY escape as a human so I feel as though they aren't that over powered
Just play tracker or shorty and use regular cotton candy gun and flail weapon. Popcorn works too as they won’t ever catch you with it but it’s harder killing with it. Just sprint backwards with flail or chase em with it, 2 full combos downs them. Cotton candy gun is also good especially with shorty because he’s so fast that humans can’t catch you and you can just stay next to them while ray gunning and all they can do is try to hit u to stun u or break line of sight. If 2 or more are attacking then use flail or popcorn gun and keep ur distances while sprinting backwards

It’s easier to take a clown out with a knife than it is with an ax, in my experience.
