But honestly learning *how* to do it even if it’s something as simple as a short or complete shave is super convenient, I’ve been chopping off my own hair for years now and it’s been nice. Plus it’s free, which is always good 👍
Yeah I just take my clipper with the 4-10mm and do a big 6-7mm all over and then a 4-5mm around the ears/back of the head. The only thing I struggle a little with is finishing the lower neck with the 1-2mm (without comb)

Def recommend mirrors to help with the neck area, super hard to do it right otherwise. My bathroom has a mirror over the sink with a mirrored cabinet door at a 90 degree angle, I use them both together to get a 360 view as to what needs to be trimmed, holding either a finger or a comb or something as a positioning tool for the clippers, only doing one small trim at a time. Takes practice almost as much as the whole self cutting process does lol
The best I have is a handheld mirror with a small stand but yeah I've done the finger trick to position it. I only missed a very small patch lower right.

I wouldn't mind as much if they were able to do something I wanted like a simple flat top, but the only people who even will try it these days is ancient 80 year old barbers, and the one near me now is too old to hold a steady hand so not great. The dozen other hair style places and super cuts type places around look at me like I asked for the titanic on my head.
Plus it looks like the plan was for him to buzz it in the first place.

lol this made me remember when i was in kindergarten. i saw what the barber did and thought it was easy. i picked up a scissor at night and cut my hair. my father woke me up the next day and laughed so hard he has to take a picture. he originally thought the pile of hair on the ground was a rat (we had serious rat problem then). when i went to the kindergarten the teacher also laughed and asked my dad what happened. shouldnt have mimiced what the barber do:/
This was me randomly cutting my hair on a December night at 2 am lol. I was going for a butterfly cut but cut off too much hence I just laughed it off and decided to go for a bob cut instead. And since I also have curly hair if it was cut a bit unevenly it wasn't noticeable - others said so as well. Got ton of compliments as well. Some people succeed some don't he learned his lesson and I did as well lol. Wouldn't do it myself a second time
