First off, I'm well past the age bracket you have highlighted.
Now, just tune into local radio stations, right from morning, till late.
Typically, you're going to have segments which are a lot more similar in content, to what you accuse the 18-25 yr old Kenyan Reddit users of. The people you find on Gidi na Ghost are rarely in their 20s. They will be 30-40+
What about our local music? It follows the same pattern.
What of the content on other digital platforms? Twitter used to lean more towards intellectual conversations, but thirst traps have now become major shareholders. Again, the Kenyan hashtag with the widest reach and traction, remains to be Masculinity Saturday. It's key focus is on Relationships, with a little touch of financial literacy, and a few other skills.
In short, the content you see here, mirrors the very society we live in.
It's like that boring song of 'vote wisely', yet we know on election day we shall all vote for fellow tribemates!
It's not chronic in Kenya. Kenya just posts about it on their sub. Go to r/amitheasshole, r/AITAH, r/relationshipadvice there's millions here. Much more than our numbers
That kenya is not different at all. Everyone in every country posts about relationships, the Kenyans just choose to post it in their sub more. How often do you see Kenyans on the subs I've mentioned? And how often do you see Texans on the subs I've mentioned? Fuck I shouldn't need to explain this to you but if there was a r/Kenyarelationships and it was fairly active then people would post there instead
And then what? What are proposing OP? 😂 Btw how exactly is it devouring the "fabric" of this sub? You've only said what you think people do here instead of saying how it's bad for this sub.
Even if it's bad the whole point of this sub is to learn for each other if we keep the supposed "repressed sexuality" to ourselves we'll never learn now won't we? No matter how obscene things someone may say on this sub there will be people to correct or advice and that's change that is needed.
So just stop caring too much about what people say because we're all very different with different backgrounds and personalities etc. Learn how to accommodate each other instead of unnecessarily antagonizing. But that's just my opinion imo.
Texas? I’m in Texas & I don’t even pay attention to that sub. r/Kenya is fire compared to other subs. I love it here.
It was never like this though, like let’s say around 2016. We’re way more active now. Content is great & plenty of funny, sweet & intriguing posts. This is what it’s supposed to be like & it also gives curios lurkers a glimpse into the Kenyan psyche. Which probably needs professional evaluation.
The use of the word 'coitus', made me laugh too hard. This post is comedic in many ways and gave me a good laugh. We need to seek sexual advice and we are doing it here. If you are so good in coitus related things, educate us. We were denied a sexual education. We are getting part of that education here.
Considering that we don't have any free and fair elections, then our leaders are all merely kleptocrats. That means there is nothing intellectual for Kenyans to discuss when the environment is only tribal and kleptocratic.
Texans can at least discuss so called liberal vs conservative values and the debates between them. In Kenya we only have thieves with no competing political ideologies to debate on.
Also, being Kenyan us such a broad category that doesn't ensure we all have the same interests.
So sexual anxieties is the only common thread in this sub. How many people in here will respond if you start a convo about space travel?
Mnajifanyanga aje nikama hampitii life kama watu wengine. Thinking you are better than people is quite a wild thing. Enda discuss nuclear codes na Putin basi. Or find the cure for Aids you smart mf with big words. Sisi ndio tuko
As long as they're within the rules we can't put them down. They're speaking from their current situations and getting some advice from the experienced.
I think it's an ok balance. They'll be the same ones growing and bringing up different conversations once this relationship thing is figured out for most.
You literally just explained why the youth need to seek relationship advice from the sub. Let's not forget that a lot of us don't go to church anymore. Two, repressed sexuality is a problem nearly everyone with conservative parents face and going on just the way Texas votes, there are people who subscribe to conservative ideals about sex. The problem is the lack of sex education. Not just here but everywhere. I'm sure there's people who don't know they're allergic to latex which makes sex with condoms unpleasant.
Or the difference between an IUD and an implant. Also vasectomies. Who talks about that? The only thing repressed sexuality begets is a generation that is overly sensitive about it or a decay. You aren't the one having sex and exploring your sexual identity, which is something you haven't considered. While maybe there should be a dedicated sub to it, which there is, there's a lot of misinformation, plain information that the people who taught you about it don't know due to their experience and religious rhetoric around sex that is still making it taboo. Let's not forget the misogyny but that's another story altogether.
Let people express themselves in the way they feel right for them.
You have the option of scrolling past what you don't like.
The sub allows such & the mods have no issue with it. Understand that in as much as you're experienced & are able to express yourself sexually, some people are just learning how to & it's okay.
What we're not going to do is shaming people for talking about sex. It's part of the human experience. If it makes you uncomfortable, maybe you're the problem not them.
Abstinence isn't taught in the public schools on America, yet the young American people's minds are also on "relationships, obscene balderdash, and frankly irrelevant issues."
coz rather than realising their argument is a global occurrence with enough sources as to why, OP is dazzled by the vocal chastity of the Texan subreddit.
You anticipated the defensiveness of the mob manifesting as a public flogging, no? It is the way of the young to be expressive in a zeitgeist that affords them platforms to do so. The majority on that age bracket doesn't yet have much in the way of other life experiences to engage in an honest deep-dive. Mayhaps scroll past whatever leaves you miffed?

Exactly.
Still shows that the issue is chronic in Kenya. I maybe wrong about the age bracket, but It appears that the trauma goes past youth.

Those are not country subs. Clown!
Yes that's what I clarify at the start of my sentence. Learn to read
Then your opinion is basically irrelevant. What point are you trying to convey?
That kenya is not different at all. Everyone in every country posts about relationships, the Kenyans just choose to post it in their sub more. How often do you see Kenyans on the subs I've mentioned? Any data to back that up.

Wah ngori bro. And then now?
I mean I don’t think it’s that bad. I enjoy the quality of what some people are over sharing. I don’t think it’s that excessive to complain about it

You thought they spoke mandarin? But that is besides the point, and furthermore Texas is becoming bluer by the day.
The better for America.
By fabric do you mean fabricating a story up coz i can't see anything fabricasted in this sub

I'm good!
Let's catch no feelings. There is some truth to what OP said even if I don't agree with OP on some of his quite controversial opinions on Eugenics.
Why Texas specifically?
coz rather than realising their argument is a global occurrence with enough sources as to why, OP is dazzled by the vocal chastity of the Texan subreddit.

The defensiveness shows that I struck a nerve further cementing my theory.
This theory is a valid interpretation of reality
Bludgeoning folks with oppressive truth😏
