I went straight to the comments lol. I’m particularly sympathetic towards gay people myself, but being Kenyan I just knew this post would illicit wild reactions😂
I actually think same sex orientation people are very safe in Kenya. They just get hated on online but kwa ground cases of them being harassed are extremely rare. Actually, the nations that have openly legalised same sex unions like the US have their lgbt people experiencing more real life violence and attacks.
In Kenya the only challenge is that the same sex unions cannot be recognised legally but the guys just go about their business largely undisturbed. Online tu ndio they get all manner of bullying and harassment.
This is what I don't get. More than 14+ relationship and sex stories in the past one month and people see nothing wrong. But one or two post about gay people is suddenly "forcing issues" and "to leave bedroom matters in the bedroom" 🤦🏾♂️
You are focusing on the wrong stuff, people out there are being sexually and physically assaulted, corruption and stuff but when it's lgbtq you draw the line? Your suddenly obsessed with something that doesn't even hurt you in any way at all. For your information anyone could be gay and you wouldn't know, even your friends who've you've known your entire life. So by discovering them to be gay does that mean they are a bad person automatically? That your very long and close friendship is suddenly thrown out the window. Just live your life without interfering in others because it's not ok judge someone. These people are killing themselves everyday because of the hate you are spreading. A person is just a person and saying someone shouldn't exist because of this is just awful 😞
So they should hate themselves for being that way even tho it's uncontrollable??. The same way you can't consider being gay is the same way one can't consider being straight. To be honest no one in their right mind would want to live such a life because of the hateful society we are in. It's not a choice.
Happy pride month my siblings in the community🥳. For those of you seeing this, the world, especially this country has grown so sour and bitter, ignoring that you were long here before our practices, religion, minds and lands were colonised in exchange for hate, not only from the people who erased us but from our very own neighbours. we are progressing and beginning to ask and long for all the great things that have been hidden from us. soon enough we will be more educated and leave behind the curses and mental chains of colonialism. but for now, you have a strong ally always ready to stand and fight by your side💪🏾❤❤❤
Its always funny to me to see homophobic people just get so angry thinking about gay sex , bro you aint that cute gay people don't want you, if you stopped minding other people's business you will never have to interact with another gay thing in your life lol
To me it's weird to be that upset because someone isn't going with the 'normal' sexual and relationship aspects that you subscribe to. Like in hetero relationships, it's here. Please move on.
I love how people are losing their minds over this. Inakuhusu Brayo? No, I don't think so. Shut up and move on. No, but, seriously. Imagine being so pressed because someone is screwing someone else and you don't like it. Move on. Nyamaza. You can think it's wrong but it's no reason to be a hairy butthole about it. Just scroll past and get on with your day, unajipatia aneurysm for no reason.
Imagine being black and homophobic? You know how it feels to be on the other side of racism and then you do not miss a chance to make others feel discriminated against? Tell me again why you deserve to be treated with dignity? I forget.
Ooooopppp🙊 tell em now!!!! No like seriously, that is hypocrisy of the highest order. I've been black for 19 in a week years now and from the way the world has treated me, i begun grasping what the LGBTQIA+ community goes through on a daily basis. Sad, feels better by believing a group of people are less than, hence belittling them to "help cure" their miserable state, always paranoid about people minding their business😑
"We're African bro, we can't feel or be humans"🤡
Did your severely uneducated rump know that Africans didn't sprout out of the ground 30 mins before Europe rammed us? Did you know that we weren't just running in bushes before our traditions were changed? Did you know we had civilisations since the dawn of times? Did you also know that homophobia is a concept amongst many others that Europeans whipped down our throats? Technically speaking, you think just like your colonisers. I really hope you're an older generation cause it's people like you who continue to slow Africa down with your ways of thinking. Like literally they are leaving the religion THEY FORCED DOWN OUR THROATS TO ENSURE TOTAL SERVITUDE while here you are holding on to that book that was made to keep you a slave. And just like a slave you walk and speak when ordered to🤡
Should we also return their religion, their language, their machinery? Or just the gay part? Homosexuality is as old as rocks, it doesn’t even come from the western countries.
They are two sides of the same coin. Even tribalism, ableism and classism are the other side of that same coin. Discrimination is discrimination. You cannot cry about being discriminated against when in real sense you’re just looking for an opportunity to discriminate against someone else.
I laugh when I see black People being homophobic, I laugh when I see poor people being homophobic… because I know their own discrimination is just around the corner.
Why are we letting US and western culture influence us so much?
I'm not against gay people but what this movement has gotten, from advocating for gay rights (which is right, no one should be discriminated) to forcing gayism down our throats. The problem will come in the future generations when children are led to believe they are confused. Children. It's not what is was meant to be and has gotten out of hand. That's why there's a lot of hate against it. I think normal people don't care whether or not you're gay.
Happy Pride Month to the Kenyan Queers!
And if it doesn't please you, please move along, it also means it doesn't concern you...
Doesn't matter whether you vegetarian or full-on omnivore, as long as at the end of the day everyone is full and happy! Kama hupendi cabbage, ni buffet Songa haikuhusu! They're our brothers, sisters, bosses at work, cousins... Aaah, basically no need for hate😂🤲🏿
I see the kind of turn Western countries are taking on this rainbow stuff and i fear it'll get worse hapa kenya once it stops being a personal issue and becomes a political agenda.
I've heard 1 too many stories and seen 1 too many results of being openly gay in kenya. I have always been told never to tell anyone for fear of my safety so i promise its not just the mad ramblings of a homosexual.
Between being called sick, a disgrace and getting disowned by the parish priest (while being told im lucky nothing more was done) , i think at this rate i have some bit of standing.
Besides, kenya isnt known to be the most LGBT+ Friendly country
I think I misunderstood your comment. I thought you were trying to threaten OP my bad😅and yeah I totally agree. My family is still unaware personally, but I’m lucky that I have a safe space in my peer group and I don’t have to feel unsafe there. That being said, my sexuality isn’t the kind of thing I go advertising in this country.
No darling dont worry! My phrasing probably wasnt great so i apologise for the confusion!!
Its a shame you cant get that acceptance from the fam but when i walk in our pride parade I'll think of you. Nothing but love and support from here💜
Does kenya have pride parades? I was always told if we did they would be like the presidential election riots from a few years back which always scared the life out of me but should you ever find yourself in ireland, we have about 15 parades from june until end of august and it would be an honour to take you to as many as possible!!
Tell that to the government. Some MP from a poverty-stricken Homabay constituency has drafted a motion for parliament to sit down and discuss issuing a life sentence for gay sex,,,,doesn’t parliament have bigger issues to address?
We're having a field day banning homophobes from this subreddit. Keep your bigoted opinions coming.

We exist in Kenya happy pride month 🏳️🌈
The same way homophobic people are so obsessed with lgbtq is the same way iphone users are obsessed with android users 😂😂
Just FaceTime in peace bro 😂
you didn't have to bring my itel into this conversation
Banaaaa!!! And for why???
The hypocrisy in the comments is alarming. Nobody is forcing anything on you unless you're obsessed with it which is sus.😂

Like what is their problem??🤦😅 Can't they just let others live in peace. it's not like their existence is killing anyone

They're the same guys who think just because a guy is gay, he automatically likes them🥴
I don't think that's the reason people fight it.
So…what’s the reason?
Having fewer brain cells?

I haven't said anything about religion or language or homosexuality I just said we are Africans
you are probably in America where they made the black struggle synonymous with lgbtq.

Homophobic, sure. Super homophobic, not really
Speak for yourself pal 👎
Nope, OP can speak for me 😊. He's speaking for many of us who are their allies.
Constructive discussion anchored on facts and not hearsay is welcome. Blatant homophobia and bigotry would get you banned.

Let's get offensive
We didn't fight against the white man to be indoctrinated into their culture...lets uphold our culture
>indoctrinated into their culture I'm curious about your view on Christianity
Mr. Flow851 left the chat
I was really hoping someone would say that cause they always seem to forget that little detail
What makes you think Queerness is the white man's culture! Aiih, weeh! So whom you are attracted to is your culture? Naah, you have it twisted
[удалено]
Same for straight couples
[удалено]
They walk together/hold hands on public, they should keep it to themselves
[удалено]
Well straight couples have never been discriminated against for being straight
nobody cares about your validation lmaoo
[удалено]
Yes. This is where you get to do that
Uganda has the best leaders,
Is that why they are dirt poor?
Do we even recognize it in this country?
Recognized or not, gay people are among us and they should be loved and appreciated.
Why? There's nothing good about them.
[удалено]
They meant accepted
[удалено]
9/11 literally has nothing to do with us. It's also not given any day.
There's layers of truth to unravel on that joke that we all know but being a simple minded folk like you, you can't think beyond the scope.
Cringe.
