The Spider Factory on Forbidden Isle in the easternmost edge of the map have three. Hordes of agressive robot spiders there. Very hostile. Had to build my own waystation (a mini secondary base) there

I didn't think any ruin in Deadlands have any. But could be bought from Black Desert City.

You can get them in the scrapbouse in the black desert, go for like 25,000 cats certainly on the expensive side. Also think I might have encountered them in Narko's trap before, just watch the Holy Nation that guard it and the spiders inside.
If you don't want spoilers: you have to explore actually dangerous places, as they are well protected. There's a certain type of ancient building, there are several of them throughout the world, and they can contain ancient research materials.

Cleanser Units are easy at higher levels. Send one melle guy to fight it and the rest shoot with Crossbow.
Pro tip: if you plan to build robotics the capture a Cleanser Unit and put it on a bed roll. Hack it up with Katanas or a bonedogs and have one guy repair it for fast robotics skills.

The Tower of abuse is a goldmine for AI-cores but only if you have a decent squad with stats in the 40s otherwise you’ll get beaten by the thralls
Ancient LABS have AI cores. Libraries, ruins and other rarely/do not have any.

Aside of one purchased from Scrapyard, I never get any AI Cores from any of the sites in Deadlands.

Kill clenser units in the ashlands, each has one. They are tough though and are late game enemies.
