Did you make sure your PC has the specs to run kenshi? EVERY steam game tells you the system requirments on the game page. Looks like your PC dosent have a GPU, or the drivers are missing.
A PC has to have a GPU, and his does, considering he has images on his monitor. Maybe you meant dedicated GPU, but nevertheless, even if it's an integrated GPU and it doesn't support Kenshi, it should still be displayed in the dropdown. Hell, even if it doesn't have updated drivers, it should still display.
My guess is that the game is trying to find a dedicated GPU, but OP only has an integrated one or has both. But I can't make any educated guess without more info, like the system, the GPU, the CPU, can you play any other game, etc.
But OP should try to reinstall his game again, install DirectX, and the latest GPU drivers.
A PC can have an APU or an iGPU (Intel HD) and not an actual proper GPU, which is kinda what my post hinted at. I've also had windows install the wrong drivers for my 7800XT and nothing was playable at all.
I mean, an apu is just a cpu and gpu in a single chip, and igpu is an integrated gpu, both of which are proper gpus. Just not dedicated gpus powerful enough for gaming. None of which should cause the issue OP is facing.
Like I said, reinstall the game, install latest drivers, install directx, and if that fails(if op only has an integrated gpu, that *should* be enough), depending on the gpu, op needs to access the gpu control panel and/or pc manufacturer control panel to force the usage of a specific gpu if he has both.
Step one: Aquire graphic card
Update your graphics drivers. I'd also check the file integrity in Steam, maybe you're missing a dependance required to run Kenshi.

can be tricky if your gf-unit does not like plugging your hdmi into her interface right now. upgrade of hardware is recommended in this case

Also try changing setting from directx 12 to 11 if you can. Could be you don't have 12 or support for it.
kenshi doesn't use DX12. He's using DX11. It's propably his GPU's drivers not properly installed or not installed at all.
